The fact that he got K.O.'d for whiffing in this instance made it even funnier as someone who hadn't seen that super whiff yet. It oddly makes Luke more likeable.
@@Darkness-ie2yl akuma is is 90s, just another stupid over the top shoto, if you're gonna bring old characters bring back my boi fei long more love to bruce lee characters, his portrayal in terms of moves in tekken is ON point. eg you can do every grab from bruce lee even his head kick to neck chop from "fist of fury"
When are we going to get even bigger than Zangeif characters like Abigail and Hugo or at least taller like Sagat and T Hawk? Or maybe a brand new character that is bigger than Zangeif? I really like the gigantic characters.
People would feel like “yes this is evidence that modern is clearly broken” but in reality they just want to blame something when the lose a match against a modern player
western fg players complain about everything. from top tiers fo hitbox to easier buffer and inputs. its like in sf4 when boomers were jerking each other off about how strict older game inputs were
Don’t get all the modern hate in the comments. Better fundamentals beat modern all the time. You get 100% damage on all you do. If a modern player beats you it’s likely just because they used better tactics.
Yeah, dont get it either. There are objective benefits and objective negatives to playing one or the other, at the end of the day modern is exactly what it's supposed to be. An alternative.
Yeah it’s ironic, because most of the people complaining about Modern are the casuals/non-competitive players. Arguably Modern is more for those players. I actually use Modern despite playing SF since SF2, since it feels like an ArcSys fighter with that control scheme.
@@DragonthornX saaame! I’ve enjoyed since childhood but I was never really good at combos. And funny enough with moderns ease of use I don’t use auto combos much and find my own strings. Very fun
I gotta have to agree. I actually got on the closed beta and got my ass kicked by a bunch of modern control players my first few matches, but as soon as I learnt the fundamentals and mechanics of the game I managed to get a 10 game win streak after that. Also the handicaps for it is pretty alright for it’s concept, it could probably make people actually wanna learn the game or even in other fighting games in general
So everyone out here shitting on Tokido for using modern but what I wanna know is what the actual benefit is to it. I assume he wouldn't do it if there wasn't one.
Lukes's combos are hard to execute in a match. They need a lot of practice, timing, and quick reactions to get into them. You just have to worry about reacting with modern controls. Luke doesn't lose much as far as pokes with modern controls. One button DP, specials, easy critical arts you can react with.
He doesnt really lose anything important, and in return he gets acess to one button supers. Both the lvl1 and lvl3 are strong when you can instantly do them on reaction to fireballs or slow pokes.
While he gets a damage reduction and loses certain normals, he has easier execution and access to his defensive/offensive special options. As someone who dislikes Modern controls, they can strongly alter a character’s playstyle by giving easier anti-air/projectile access. He’s going for a more balanced Luke (who has easy access to sand blast) rather than pure rush. It’s not that he’s crutching imho, it’s that he found this control scheme better suits his gameplan.
Tokido making us Akuma mains feel ashamed by playing luke in the first place and on modern on top of that...Good stuff to Itazan for showing him how a real man does his inputs 👌
Oh. That is a tough one, but the best gief in sf 4 many claimed was hagejin and he came back for SF 6 and hes playing gief. No idea how good he is or if he plans on playing competitively again.
I’m curious if the comments hating on the modern play style are only hating bc it’s a competitive player. I mean it has to be right? I just genuinely find it interesting how the overall complaints make it sound like even without a competitive setting involved it’s more cheap. As a casual player myself I didn’t even rly care until I found out some specials (lvl 3) have different inputs and I might have to remember them for every character I play on the spot 😅
Personally, I dislike it because it’s an easy route to combos that would take actual time to learn with practice. It’s having an edge with each counter/punish, since it’s easy to get the optimal combo. Hate modern controls
We will have to get used to it either way. I think that the more time will pass, less competitive players will be interested in it. The disadvantages are too big imo. My opinion. We will see. But I get the hate at the same time. Capcom might change it, one way or the other.
@@Doughboy_Lu It doesn't change the fact that "more experience = more winning". Combo routes don't need to be hard, just balanced and creative, like smash)
Years ago something similar was done with Street Fighter 2 Turbo. They did a rerelease called Super Turbo HD Remix. With rebalancing and new sprite work. In that game, they made some motions easier(they were not modern controls). One of these was E Honda's command grab. A player said it was a bad idea and to prove he literally played Honda vs high level opponents. And he was right. The directional input does serve a purpose. These moves are supposed to be harder to pull off. Hell if you know about Guilty Gear Strive, everyone can 6P moves because of the upper body invincibilty. Ask any Strive player, "Is it easier to 6P a move or DP it?" Using 6P is much easier.
Unfortunately CAPCOM suck new generation players, and suck also from SFVI the LGBT communauty. So the old characters are for the old players... and for thanks old players, old characters will be availables in two years on each DLC seasons lol
they definitely picked wrong character as the main for this installment. he will never be true replacement for ryu and capcom will learn their lesson and remove him from the main for sf7. character design is horrible and luke is definitely not a main character material. seriously, they must have lost their mind putting such lame character as main for this installment. and please please remove that yay yay fighting intro. it's so bad. besides that, street fighter looks very good. just look at tekken 8. jin and kazuya look super cool but luke? omfg. just lame. he looks lamer version of terry bogard.
Bro is gonna do Modern Controls Luke and still not win the milli Lmaooo (don’t get me wrong I know Tokido is amongst some of the best players but still lol) Shoutouts to Itazan tho for actually putting in the work lmao
Using modern to win is no different from using top tier to win. You didn’t see itazan using bad move choices did you? Everyone uses the best moves they have with the best timing they can muster with the best mind games they can think of.
I respect your opinion, and KoF is cool but I prefer watching this game because characters have more options individually for approaching a situation. Whereas the team aspect and short hops is the main draw in KoF imo, the Drive system makes engagements dynamic in SF while allowing defense to also shine.
