I love how when Shoshana walked out at 2:43 the whole audience started giggling cause they knew that shit just got real and they were witnessing history
I love how in The River Won't Flow Colin gives Mykal a look on "I've seen more water than Columbus has seen" and Mykal looks so offended, because yknow,, Spanish Sailing Ship, 1492
I'm so happy they did a OOBC recording of this because this concert was everything, especially that indescribable energy between audience and performers. It was one of the best Encore productions ever And Shoshana Bean's "Surabaya Santa" is everything
The single best interpretation of this score ever? All four of them are incredible. Shoshana’s range, going from “Just One Step” to “Stars and the Moon” like ten minutes apart… unbelievable
I cried multiple times watching various performances and have been watching this for the past few days 💛🥰 the songs that got me were “I’m Not Afraid of Anything”, “The River Won’t Flow”, “The Flagmaker, 1775” and “ Flying Home”
I adore that after both "moment" that Shoshanna sings, you can audible hear the audience lose they're shit. Love audiences that audibly respond to amazing singing
I was at closing night, not sure if it was this performance, but the crowd was just as, if not even more electric during Flying Home, JRB was even in the wings filming and jamming out. An unforgettable night
This truly was one of the most exciting theater i've seen. so happy to have seen it live. Reliving it now in 2020 is so different; all these songs hit so different cords but the power of these performances live on. And the Mykal Kilgore standing ovation was just over the top the day that I saw it!
Jason Robert Brown is just incredible!!!! And this entire cast is out of this world!!!!! Thanks to whoever posted this!!!!! I also love the original cast with Andrea Burns and Billie Porter, etc... Wish there were a video of that too....
I was here this night. I was sitting in the nosebleeds with other musical theater majors. My favorite audience experience I've had. And when JRB came out and played it was a SURPRISE.
Thank you for recording this!! I've been listening to the cast recording for while now and I loved it so much. But this adds a whole new level!! I didn't even know this show had dancers! The choreography was such a pleasant surprise. Also, The River Won't Flow is EXACTLY how I pictured it in my head XD
At 22:-00:24:10 when Solea sing as “And he”ll always be.. he’s afraid of me” I fall right to my knees and start crying. That soft mix into her belt is just amazing
It's the line right after it for me. "Not a soul alive can get behind this wall, so let them call". As someone who was bullied relentlessly, that just struck at my core.
So was anyone gonna tell me that Mykal Kilgore was that insanely fucking talented? Or was I just supposed to watch an Encores bootleg just because my school is doing this show and find that out myself??
HOLY F*CKING PHENOMENAL!!!! How have I missed this for years, and HOW have I never heard of these people before!!!!! MY GOD THIS WAS SO GOOD!!! ***OH and a surprise visit to boot!***
@@ALW2019 It's crazy because I love Theater. I looked at their wiki pages and I recognize them from other roles, but I guess this was the first time it 'clicked'. Thank you again. This was amazing!
I'm going to blame the hormone medications I'm taking right now for egg freezing for the reason that I'm sobbing 5 minutes in. That's definitely it. No other reason.
It is not like a musical. It is a series of songs played by 4 people (not necessarily the same "character" throughout) and the one common theme throughout the show is, in that one moment...
