The art and just style and swag in this game, like it had this swaggy vibe/theme around it, every character felt fresh, just look at the rain and the backgrounds, so much passion put into it. I’m not that good at sf but I’m a really huge fan and I hope they bring back this kind of enthusiasm.
anybody who shrugs this off as no good because its tool assisted should probably realize the sheer amount of work it takes to not only discover, but program these. Besides, just because its tool assist does NOT meant that this cant happen to you in a match. Great display of power.
First, I can't say how awesome this is, you still got some juice out of a game people thought had nothing left. Bravo! I love how you improved, not just changed, some old combos (like Sean's Aegis-interrupted Hadou Bursts, Elena's 4 EX Mallet Smash), showed some new things (Twelve with the near-ground grab-capability of Gill, Necro's HP juggle after MP Tornado Hook on Q,)...loved the SF4-style chun/sean combo, the non-knockdown Urien kneedrop...[more]
@NonRandomUser You got it, check video description. As for Sean and Elena combos, I figured Elena combo myself before seeing KYSG's cmv. There is big similarity, I agree, but arcade and PS2 combos work differently. I didn't taunt in Sean's and Elena's 100% combos. I checked various combo videos to make sure I don't rip off anyone. I got the idea for Sean's combo when I saw a big damage Sean combo in "Kamui's strange Combo Vid", and I thought I should test if 100% combo is possible, and it was.
@onreload Notice that 538 stunned Urien in Sean cmv and still had one SA1 left. In arcade version, some characters deal less stun damage (juggle limits are also changed). Most 100%combos from 538 cmvs wouldn't work in arcade version. First I tried with Chun vs Ken combo with SA3, but it has slow startup. Urien unblockables are always parry-able. But this time it's backward, not down. I just tested Hugo's held taunt vs unheld and it didn't really make any difference. I will fix info on SRK Wiki.
The best thing about this game is it has crazy stuff like this, but at the same time its super hard to do and limited to certain situations so its not OP or anything. It has strong combos but they are very tough to do to help balance it and only work on certain characters.
@LUESoldat When you lose against CPU, he lowers his difficulty. The more times you lose, the more chance there is for him to taunt. His taunt is still completely random, though. For example, if you whiff a jab, he will not taunt. if you don't whiff a jab, he will taunt.
@neon6 stuck in the past, you notice alot of the better/notable players have moved on from both 3rd strike and ST or retired, this games figured out. while it's classic doesn't mean it's not stuck in the past just like ST.
@onreload the chun combo that i've had written down for months hahaha...except mine was with SA3 - would that work (j. D+MK, D+HP, cr.LP xx SA3)? Another question, on the Urien unblockables - are they still escapable via down-parrying the Aeges? Either way, there's not a dull combo in here...love the aegis resetting multiple times, the stylish dash in the makoto/sean combo, the shamefulness of Q's reversal SA3->QCF+P (he could have reversaled successfully with SA2, right?)...[more]
@onreload backwards-hitting tatsus, 1 framers, strange karas...Amazing. SlimX, 538, all others must be impressed and proud. By the way - doesn't Hugo's full taunt only buff throws? I thought his tapped taunt is what buffed hit combos like ones with SAIII and Giant Palm Bombs.
Numinor Akuma also has to do his taunt to increase the damage of his next move. In fact if you taunt with Akuma and do that super against a low health character while crouching like Ibuki or Akuma you can get a 0 to death too! Same thing happens if you do this against Dudley when doing an Ex cross counter. With Taunt this super is probably the most damaging move in the whole game.
Numinor You could try this in Fightcade if you want, also every taunt in the game gives every character some kind of boost only in (Third Strike, and 2nd Impact)
