Living in an isolated cabin during winter sounds quite comfy. Until you get an unexpected visitor, that is. Support me: / surkee Mandatory attributions: Matchbox handling sound: freesound.org/people/Poyekhal...
(Late) Happy Holidays and (late) Happy New Year! 😅 This video was long overdue and I'm glad it's finally out! Original videos are always a challenge for me, especially when it comes to pacing and all that. I initially planned it for early to mid January but unfortunately my computer broke for about a week while working on it and I lost around 3 minutes of animation that I had to remake from scratch, which set me back quite a bit. Either way, I hope it was worth the wait!
You can tell an animation is good when you find yourself watching it at 5am before it's light outside and it gives off a primordial creep factor that makes you keep only the bottom half of the video on your screen as you prepare to dive into the safer trenches of the comments section.
11:13 this scene. the way it walks is so surreal and disturbing, and the added shadow of snow that covers it is really nice. the added detail of him having to rack a bullet since he never did that after his first shot is great. 13:13 *THIS SCENE.* the near silence, the final reveal of the monster's sheer size, the silhouettes, his horrified face, it's all so good
7:55 - 9:13 With the wide angles, the windows in shot, you expect something to pop up, especially when he lowers his rifle. when NOTHING happens, the tension is maintained in a bone-chilling air until the music starts. You breathe a sigh of relief. THEN, IT POPS UP. You never get a good look at it. Fucking art.
Little shit like him scooting the bucket over with his foot to put the logs in is why I love your animation so much. Small human detail like that really sell it so well.
I love the long shots where you’re left to look at whether there’s something in the background. Although I didn’t notice anything, seeing how the thing looked, I’m left to wander if it was creeping among the trees.
This is the type of videos I adore. No narration, no jumpscares, no silliness. Just letting the horror speak for itself. Also I'd have preferred it if you waited a bit longer before showing the monster.
I'd say really happening, I haven't even watched the video but all of this other guys animations have it REALLY happen. Like a time-loop, infinitely waiting, ETC.
Creepy af. However, even if you run out of bullets you never drop your gun. You may always use it to melee someone. Also, what does this story represent? I wonder...
maybe panic attacks/unreasonable fear? here, the monsters don't actually do anything. the tall guy probably doesn't attack our protagonist, and the little pat they did... maybe it was just a pat and the protagonist just passed out/ died from fear?
Guilt the other person had a hole in its head implying that he may have shot him in the head He couldn’t escape from the man ether so he couldn’t escape his guilt
Amazing! The subtle off-ness of the first creatures "Hello." and the second's movements, the fantastic atmosphere and sound design, the lack of jumpscares and the fact you put in the effort of having snow ACTUALLY ACCUMULATE ON HIS HAIR AND CLOTHES!
Awesome seeing your channel growing man, work like this really shows how talented you are. Been saying it since your first horror SFM, great stuff and keep it up man :)
This was SO worth the wait and then some! I love winter stories and this one.. is just so perfect. It's so clear how good you've gotten at animating, I'm so impressed, this was an amazing watch. My theorist brain is going with this. Did he kill the guy in the blue coat? Hence why the note asks if he's been a good boy? So seeing him again isn't just seeing him as a monster but him facing the living representation of his guilt and what he'd done? That's the vibes I got. The continuous shots to the axe and the gun he has, the fact that one of the monsters looks like another person. it all radiates vibes that our protagonist did something
No matter how far off this was from winter, it's still a wonderful SFM video, the cinematography, the ambient sounds, the atmosphere and the animation itself! i loved how has a different model for being covered in snow, and the guy's expressions and mannerisms are so well communicated, i feel like if you used more hi-res detailed models and textures, this could passs off as realistic.
@@wizardwhen eh a little bit, maybe more on the horror side of dialogue like he did for the "strangest security tape" and "glenmont metro" I can see a scenario of civil workers from hla being sent as a hazmat crew to investigate an infestation outbreak and comfirm theres something down there which they then send out a squad of cps which would take a turn after never finding any xenian life forms Something like this
So good to see another upload. Hope things are going awesome. That was damn amazing. Awesome work!! Pacing was crazy good and I didn't know what to expect at every turn
0:21 - that's more Japanese books than I've come to expect in stories/channels/videos such as this! Awesome as always, glad I subscribed, looking forward to more!
I have a theory! I think the main character is a murderer! When that piece of paper said, “Have you been a good boy?” It gave us a shot of the axe, I believe that he killed someone with the axe! He even looked at the axe, showing us he knows what it’s talking about! And the man with half his face cute off is most likely the ghost of the guy he killed! So when that tall thing touched our main character, the guy fell down, maybe symbolizing his soul is at piece because his killer has been caught! That’s my theory anyway!
dont you hate when the christmas spirit of the skinny black guy steals your house and throws you on a infinite road with the christmas spirit of the broken glass guy and then steals your life? happens to me every christmas
Holy fuck, that was definitely one of the best horror sfm animations I have ever seen. You are so underrated and deserve so much more, keep making these!
I absolutely loved your “no face” video and have been following your channel ever since. I love your videos and it always make me smile whenever I see new uploads So thanks for that and I hope you’re doing well ❤ love from Canada 🇨🇦
how long do these take to make you? they are definitely the best horror animation's i've ever seen and easily better than the hollywood nonsense these days
We went from high rated movies to something as low quality as a 1900s film that couldn't actually do a lot with quality. Except now it's possible to do 4k quality or 8k, and we have color and sound now.
I wrote an almost exact mirror of this story for my college newspaper and got paid $100 for it. Flt good but I knew so many people before me and after me had crafted it. Congrats though you did it best
@@mavmemes5341 its lost because this was over a decade ago - but the gist of it was Santa was a greaseball biker type with a red leather jacket. He kept deformed midgets (elves) chained up in a warehouse to make his presents. The climax of the story was a kid waking up to Santa breaking his front door open with a crowbar and rushing into his living room. The punchline was Santa pelting the kid square in the face with a small but heavy present, shouting “Merry Christmas!!” and running back outside to screech into the night on a Harley
