Getting Metroid Dread in 2021 and now Metroid Prime 4 coming out in 2025 has been pretty huge. Last Prime came out in 2007… Goddamn it’s been too long.
Metroid fans: _gets Prime 4 after 18 years and a Metroid 5 after 19, getting everything they could possibly want_ Halo fans: _haven't had a game the fanbase can consistently agree is good in 14 years_
Not every day I hear an OST from Pacific Rim, but it is always welcoming. I instantly recognized it by the third note, which made this so much better for me.
She's tired. He's tired. it's the one thing the Slayer doesn't have, he's too angry to get tired. But John and Samus? They've been through so much, and they're just... tired. Not as sure about Samus's reasons for continuing, but John's, he has his duty. It's all he knows. He wants to protect the few who are close to him, so he has to keep fighting. It's not even about orders anymore. He proved that when he went AWOL to find and help Cortana, who he loses four separate times. And now another thing is threating everyone. He can't stop. You know he wants to, though.
Her reason for continuing is kind of like Batman's, but much less vigilantism. 1 part revenge, 1 part being raised to channel that drive for doing the greater good. She was wronged when she was very young, having watched her mother vaporized in front of her with the rest of her colony either killed by being torn apart by space pirates or died in a nuclear explosion, and spent her youth training to save others. The Chozo, the psionic bird species that adopted her, raised her to be a "Galactic Savior" , and even saw her as a beacon of light and hope through their premonitions. She's bounty hunter, but only takes jobs that benefit society, even if it means she gets payed below what the bounty should be, even at all, or even going against her military/government contract for the greater good even if it means destroying (secret) military/government property if it means stopping them from dooming the universe over greedy their ambitions.
you people need a Namco X Capcom (or Project X Zone) or Super Robot Wars(non-OG) equivalent in western video game characters. But this seems highly unlikely, as NxC(2005) managed to come about due to Soichiro Morizumi(and probably many others) who was already a veteran in SRW franchise.
@@darkblades1201she is 6'3 in armor, 6'9 outside of armor do to 6 inch heals. He is 7 foot in armor, 6'10 out of armor. So he is bigger by 7 inches at least out of armor, 9 when he is still in his suit, not sure how tall she actually is without the armor or heals.
Samus: 6'3" out of suit, likely 6'6"-7" in suit John: 6'10" out of armor 7'2" in armor Samus: 190lbs no suit, powersuit unknown John: 287lb outside of armor, mjolnir roughly 1000lbs
Surprisingly heartwarming, but makes sense. All of Chief's enemies have fallen or joined him and he's old. I think he would even appreciate the return of a familiar enemy at this point, or maybe embrace a rival as a friend?
He’s biologically in his 40’s from cryosleep space travel but lived about 60ish years (I believe). Spartan II’s can live up to 400 years due to their augmentations.
How can something so sappy be so peak at the same time? I like how there was no follow-up gag for comedic relief. It was just a genuine emotional moment beyween these two iconic characters. Although, there is something kinda humorous and charming about the idea that Samus might have to deal with stuff like this on a daily basis when with John where he regularly has his "I miss my wife, Tails" moments lol. Also, the Pacific Rim music was a great touch. Excellent choice.

@@helljumpersofthegalacticre5437 yeah, but there's hasn't been an official answer, and I don't think we'll ever get one. I mean, chief isn't alone, he has many allies and friends like blue team; however, spartans aren't the most sensible people to show emotions since they were trained to only focus on the mission (not to mentioned the spartan serum and hormones they took that disable most of their emotions). Halo 4 decided to explore the human side of master chief (which was a good choice in my opinion) and we don't talk about 5
John: I'm so... proud of you Samus. You finally came back after so many years. Samus: thanks. I'm... Sorry... for what happened to you. John: don't worry, I'll be okay. Despite the many setbacks, I'm still pulling in strong. Samus: I know... I just hope that you'll get your chance as well. John: I appreciate your support, but for now, this is your time. Samus: thank you... John.
It feels kinda nice. We all have nothing but respect for the characters , but this in a way makes them feel human. Human in the sense that they are there for each other.
This feels almost like the love letter to the man who made the original Haloid, the very same guy who started RWBY. The man who sadly passed away years ago.
I felt like john was looking up, expectant to hear a familiar female voice with a soft and directing tone his companion for years, decades. But only greeted with silence wanting something to remind him what he was human, a reminder and validation for all the trials and tribulations. The smallest touch of human contact could mean to world to some people.
She’s honestly like Chief in that they both wiped out millions to billions. They both have power armor and shielding. Both have been all over the galaxy, they’re both super human. Technically Sam is half alien and John is just enhanced. They’re a perfect match for each other
Just watched Master Chef and thought it was excellent. I unfortunately didn't understand but still thought the voice work was very good and the visuals all together were stellar. Everything nicely done. Excited to see this project!
I've always thought the two of them would find each other attractive and work well together as a team. They'd make a good couple I think if multi-versal shenanigans occurred.
The hard part with this is Chief and the Spartan II’s had augmentations including removing all sex drive. It’s gone. The Halo series forgot about that. So he wouldn’t see any physical attraction but would be astounded with her battle capabilities.
I'd like to remind people that Chief has gone through a LOT of shit and that he had been forced to emotionally 'lock in' while fighting what is essentially an uphill/losing battle for humanity. He almost never had time to mourn the loss of his comrades or cope with the betrayal and death of a close ally, because another war just started and he's almost always needed. Samus lost everyone she was emotionally vested in and was a witness to the near extinction of a race that had taken her in when her parents were kill by a space dragon alien pirate who just doesn't know how to stay dead. Then when she finally finds 2 stragglers of the Chozo race, one dies the moment he proclaims himself as a friend and the other turned out to be part of the traitor tribe that killed the rest, then lost all of their own people to the FAFO disease. Sometimes you just need a hug. Specifically from someone who needs one themselves.
A fan animation 2 minutes and 20 seconds long manages to make me feel more connected to Halo than 343 has since they picked it up, I'm glad I picked up the Metroid remaster, after I'm finished I'll look into the other games. I hope these two armoured legends never fade. Anyone else still remember that Halo x Metroid animations by Mony Oum (R.I.P) where they fight off a huge covenant assault.
I'm really happy for you metroid fans... I do not believe yours was butchered as bad as ours. But you're getting another entry, and that's all that matters. Please enjoy your game when it releases.
No wonder Roosterteeth went under...this is like rvb season 13 level animation and its in the hands of small youtube Channel NO OFFENSE! This is Fantastic.
After haloid that was created by Monty and the recent status of the halo franchise, this hug feels more like chief sayin goodbye, Another legend leaving to be forever remembered as what it once was.... not what it has become..... at least i know i will.
Man...that part where the POV kicks in and it's just Master Chief staring at the sky. Feels like he finally stopped to breathe after all these years. Great animation!
The amount of emotion throughout this whole scene is great. But specifically the amount of emotion that's shown in Samus' eyes is beautiful. Eyes can tell us so much, if only we stand to look.
this one scene spoke over a million words. John is deeply traumatized and lonely as a supersoldier in his old age. loosely, Halo and Metroid as games have very similar plots. an orphaned child. no parents. trained, honed to perfection. raised to kill. given the best technology to battle. faced a dangerous foe that threatened the galaxy. and lived to hold that tale silently, not able to speak about it. Samus and John are somewhat similar in that aspect.
Ash Williams (Army of darkness) or Josh McGrath / Max Steel or Action Man (1993) or Guts / Gatsu (berserk) be like John-117 or Noble 6 B-312 or Lord Saladin or Lord Shaxx or Zavala (Destiny), Elizaberth Betsy Braddock / Psylocke or Setsuna Meiou / sailor pluto or Kaine or A2 (Nier) or Lina Inverse (slayers 1989) be like Cortana, Duke Nukem rises from the ashes, Groovy Hayabusa Armor and Spartan Nicole-458 from dead or alive, Samus Aran suffered more than John, theory or clue Halo is the future from the real life
Sometimes men are like that, we are not good at expressing our feelings with words, but with actions, and sometimes we just want a hug to know that someone supports us
Muy buena la Machinima SFM, espero que pronto saques más, de Acción, comedia, etc. Y con la colaboración y participación de la Legión Machinimadora, Machinifilms y los StarKnights
Symbolism. As a fan of both i can see what's happening here. Chief is sad at what a shit show his franchise has become due to incompetent leadership and by hiring people who don't even like Halo to begin with. At the same time Metroid is finally getting what its fans have been asking for for years. One side has devs who clearly care about its franchise while the other is 343 and clearly made by people who don't give a shit about the franchise anymore. 2 Titans of the Sci-fi genre, but one has clearly been abused.
1:23 I can imagine in this moment, samus is, at first, confused, but after thinking all the things chief’s been through, and that she’s been through, she basically comes to the conclusion of “yea, he needs this, after what he’s done and what he’s been through…” Amazing animation, 117/10
There's just something about people so dedicated to being warriors that their armor is a part of their body, still seeking humanity and comfort in other people despite the incredible solitude of the paths they walk.
I sometimes forget howe big the Spartans are. Especially the Twos. Don't forget guys, Samus is a fairly tall herself, so it's impressive that even SHE needs to look up at Chief.
It's hilarious how Samus, with all her trauma and issues, is somehow less emotionally constipated than John, so I would find this absolutely accurate. She'd be a fantastic emotional support pillar.
I mean, chief was raised under strict military training, being ordered, basically, to suppress all emotions at all times, as to avoid risking the mission, whereas Samus, while still trained to suppress emotions, was never *ordered* to ignore them, as chief probably was, Given that the chozo were likely more compassionate than the unsc and Mendez/ Halsey were… So, chief being unfeeling, is because the unsc basically ordered him to ignore his emotions, and I agree, Samus, being a person who’s been through similar pain, could probably help him overcome his bottled up loss/ grief, from sam to cortana and reach TLDR: samus was raised by compassionate birdmen, cheif was raised as an asset, and a soldier
