The DoomCycle 

Holy shit, I can’t believe this video blew up, especially since it’s been nearly a year since I posted it. Thank you to everyone who liked this video! I made this with the intention of combining a game I loved with my profession as a vehicle designer, and I used this project as a crash course to teach myself blender really (the BFG engine block some of you noticed was actually my first modeling project in Blender!) To answer some questions: Yes, the floppy is in the wrong direction……. That tech was before my time and my little Easter egg exposed me lol. There is a rotation mechanism that I didn’t add to this video to show how the Doomcycle turns, but honestly couldn’t find a good place to add the animation to the video. I had no plan for the story EXCEPT to end with the Marauder getting run over, because fuck that fucker. I have been able to contact some of the designers from Doom Eternal who enjoyed my work so they are aware. Obviously you can’t just plug a fan project into a game, but it was still awesome to get their kudos. They did each inspire me after all!

The Doomcycle. Powered by the BFG-9000 and has the Crucible Blades' power disc for a key. Ya can't get anymore badass than this.

The fact that the front and back wheels are basically chainsaw-like tank treads is amazing!

This needs to be a thing. Somebody needs to make this happen *RIGHT NOW*

This is so well story-boarded for taking into consideration the limited keyframing. It's SO SICK but didn't overextend the animation resources.

I absolutely adore that he started the motorcycle by punching it, and I love that no animator can ever resist the Akira slide

I love the detail that not only does it use treads that let it run almost like a giant chainsaw, but the threads themselves match the Slayer's boots.

Incredible animation! The Doomcycle looks awesome. It was cool seeing all of your updates for this on twitter as you were working on it.

If you were to ever revisit this and make any additions/changes to the DoomCycle, what would you add/change? 100/10 animation, btw, absolutely love it.

With the "core" of the Crucible Blade as the ignition key and the freaking BFG9000 as the engine, this bike is the only ride for the Doom Slayer.

Makes you wish this was in the game as a driving segment to play over and over.

I don't know why I have never thought of the Doom Guy on a motorcycle before now, but now that I have seen it I don't know how I lived without it.

The fact that it appears to be powered by The BFG is just the icing on top of the cake that is this awesome piece

I love this so much. It's hype as hell. I did think that the seating arrangement looked a little goofy, but I also thought of a solution. What if instead of rear suspension, that was where the Slayer's feet sat, thus making him responsible for the vehicle's responsiveness, and also meaning that he could have insane control of the bike and even force it to bunny-hop (we know he has the strength for it).

There is no way to properly explain how much I love this! One of my favorite things to do is imagine Doomguy in other fictional universes, and I've always used the idea of him riding a motorcycle to get around. Before, I'd always thought of the MTT 420, a real bike that uses a turbine instead of an engine. This is exactly what I needed!

I love the use of an old 3.5-inch disk, classic DOOM style. I love even more than he puts it in *backwards* (or possibly upside-down). I mean, sure, it can be some other kinda data unit, with its own reading system. But I know what it looks like, and how those worked. :)

I actually felt there is new doom mode coming out. the graphics are on point this is a beautiful bike totally love it.

I literally just finished watching the 12 minute teaser of that Akira 4k remaster project with cgi. It looks beautiful. So to see this video immediately next and you add in Kaneda’s famous slide was so wild! Awesome stuff!

The BFG engine, awesome. The Crucible as the key and power core, awesome. The fact that the wheels are connected, making the entire bike into 1 giant rideable chainsaw, Utterly amazing. I want 1 of these in the next game!

This so awesome! The details are amazing but as a child of the 80s I only have one very minor nitpick. The VEGA floppy disc was inserted backwards. Still love this though. Thank you!!!!
