[SFM] Soldier and His Faulty Gun

Here's a more recent first person animation I've done in front of some pals, inspired by games like Bad Company and Far Cry 2. Definitely enabled and ALSO inspired by... ermm... a certain yellow furry cool cat animator guy... Animated in Source Filmmaker. Will be following this video up with other characters with their own faulty guns, this is more like a tease... (also I kinda can't wait to show it LMAO)
Am not turning into a first person animator I swear! Gmod endeavours still in course! Simultaneously working on a big one.

ive grabbed and ejected shell a few seconds after it was fired. shotgun shells dont get hot.

The brass maybe. The plastic of the shell cools in seconds. Just a reminder that shotgun shells used to be made of paper.

Not realistic! Soldier would had called Engie to fix the jammed shotgun. Soldier doesn't fix things. He just wants to shoot.

Man I wish that we had more games with jamming animations for weapons. Some that come to mind are: Far Cry 2, Escape from Tarkov, S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Metro: Exodus

Stalker doesn't really have jam animations, it just forces you to reload when rng decides the gun is "jammed".

I think New Vegas has a jamming system, but all it does is prolong how long it is until you can fire after a reload.

"The dumpster fire" - plus 12 reserve bullets - minus 3 shots - 20% damage penalty - +20% bullet spread - bullets never hit crosshair : bullets automatically fire after loaded : gun jams if overloaded _ alt fire: throw the gun and all the shells in a fit of rage, shells fire on impact and so does the gun if it's loaded (shotgun recharge:20 sec [can be decreased with ammo sources]) ' cousin to the begger's bazooka '

I don’t think gun jamming should be a thing for ALL shotguns, but it’s a cool concept for a new unlock for soldier. If only valve cared about the game enough to add new weapons….

Or for all classes: When it gets jammed for Heavy he basically talks smack to the player for not just choosing the minigun. When it gets jammed for the Engineer... It doesn't happen. He's an engineer, he has an understanding of how guns are built and how not to jam them or something... Or fine, it does get jammed, but on fewer occasions, and the engineer uses some sort of tool to get the shell out. When it gets jammed for Pyro, that madlad would probably just grab the shell with it's bare hands and then toss it behind it. The hot shell will be automatically tossed by the game towards the nearest enemy player behind the pyro, and would deal only a little bit of damage.

Imagine if this was a thing in TF2 where if you shot too much at once your gun had an increasing chance of jamming and you'd have to mash R to unjam it. Depending on the weight and complexity of the weapon it would be quicker or slower to unjam. So something like the pistol would be fairly quick to unjam but the minigun would take a couple of seconds as Heavy is wrangling his gun with the force of 12 mountains.

miniguns are specifically made to be unjamable though, cuz even if bullet doesn't fire out, it will still be ejected

@@MrRulet550 I'm sure something else can happen to the minigun. Maybe a casing flies weirdly and gets lodged in the action or maybe the electrical components fail and he has to bash it to make it work again.
