So, what difference does it make what airplanes they used when one flight had a mechanical problem and the other had a passenger with a medical emergency? The medical emergency had NOTHING to do with the plane or its mechanical condition.

SFO is a united hub, so one could speculate that more than the average number of united planes transit through there, thus leading to an increase in issues? Likely other factors surrounding SFO as an airport as well.

there is a medical event what does that have to do with United.. and on top of that engines are made by different companies the lack of knowledge of the public on how airplanes actually work is just stunning.

It's not United's fault that someone had a medical emergency. Why not blame the passenger that had the medical emergency instead?

I was on both flights and chose to cancel my trip because a. I couldn’t face a third round but b. I don’t think the pilot made the decision for passengers comfort.

Why would they not deplane the patient for treatment or a return flight instead of flying an entire plane of people all the way back from Canada? Is that normal procedure?

Crew would have timed out, not enough legality time to continue to FCO.

They could have gone to Chicago or JFK or Boston! The pilot knew he would be out of flying time in Edmonton. Those are senior pilots they knew what they were doing !

It was for totally different reasons. One was a simple mechanical issue, and another was a medical issue. Things happen; it's no big deal. What type of airplane makes no difference? It is a total nonstory.
