I loved watching this again on February 26, 2022. It's great to see Glen Wold and my dad together and to hear my dad's wonderful sense of fun.

Col. Olds had a great respect for his mechanics; they were brothers-in-arms, and Olds recognized how much the mechanics not only loved their machines, but also their professions.

He would visit the maintenance areas regularly, even late at night and get to know them all. Great leader, as genuine as they come.

We only let Pilots Borrow the plane. Plane belongs to the Crew Chief.

Most good officers know the hard work the ncos do. He was a great officer and a superb leader. I wish I had one of his bones in my body. I’d be about a hundred times better man.

I don't know of any interview of a WW-2 fighter pilot with his crew chief so glad they can get these stories on video. Old's is one of the top 5 American fighter pilots of all time.

Robin makes me proud to be an American, How wonderful of Robin to give all that credit and thanks to all of those talented and amazing mechanics that kept those planes flying and also able to return. God bless Robin and all of the others who allow us our freedom we are able to enjoy today.

I have the book "Fighter Pilot" about General Old's life written by his daughter Christina Olds. Great Story. It was published in 2010 so I am guessing it may still be in print.

Interesting the P-51's made in Texas were the K model. There's a US paper money mint in Dallas with the designation "K" you'll find on one dollar bills.

He said that the propeller was different; I wonder, was it a 4-blade version, because I've seen photos of General Olds' plane, and I seem to remember being surprised that the propeller had 4 blades. All other Mustangs, right through the D series, had 3-blade propellers, I think?
