This was suchhhh a validating episode! The twin mom guilt is a real thing and just hearing that it’s okay that we are having a different experience than singleton parenting is healing in a way!

Thank you for this episode!! My twins are 18 months and my husband works 12 hour shifts, one week on and one week off. When he's working, it's just me and the twins. Somehow all three of us survive each day when he's working! And sometimes we even go to the park or the grocery story! It does get easier as they get older! Also, can we talk about how difficult in-laws can be when they've only had singletons? When you were talking about turning down invitations to weddings and movie outings it hit home. My in-laws live 3.5 hours away and don't understand why we can't visit more frequently. My father-in-law constantly advised us to drive around with our kids for 20 minutes a day to get them used to the car. News flash: it's not the 20 minute drive that's the problem! He often told us, "You're not the first people to have a baby. You just have to take them out and do things." Meanwhile he can't even handle watching one of his grandchildren at a time, let alone both! Edited to add: I should have kept watching! You started talking about in-laws RIGHT after I stoped to post this comment! ❤

We totally understand. Twin parents have super powers that no one else understands. Stand your ground. You know what is right for you and your babies.

Thank you for this pod cast! Nobody has any idea what it's like to be pregnant with twins. I'm currently 31 weeks. We went to a birth class and it was full of singleton mums. Who looked flawless with their nice round baby bumps. Looking beautiful with their expensive pregnancy outfits and wearing make up. And here I was huge, suffering from gestational diabetes and struggling with pelvic girdle pain. Wearing basically a curtain. And let alone our mothers have no idea about how tough it's really been for me. (This is my first and last pregnancy). Singleton mums make out everything is so easy and wonderful. They don't know shit. But we belive we are so blessed because they don't have special babies like we have. The ability to concieve two babies at once is so special and doesn't happen just for everyone. We will be taking your advice to join a twin mums group.

I didn’t have twins but I hear you. I can’t imagine the challenge of trying to feed two babies at one time. I’m sure you’re grateful for your families. It’s very sad when the family is no more. It happens.

Singleton parents all have their own hard. Just like twin parents. However twin parents do have a very specific hard that is not understood by Singleton parents. Our goal with this podcast was to help twin moms and dad's who are struggling, feel seen and validate their feelings, as twins parents often get unsolicited advice from people who don't understand their position.
