Very sweet song. When the maestros like Gulzar saa'b, Mukesh ji and Salil da come together, then the outcome has to be a marvel like this. Incidentally, years later, Jagjit Singh ji included a ghazal with similar lyrics by Gulzar, in his album Marasim. This ghazal too is equally fabulous.

Somehow I like this hindi one better than the Bengali one. Mukesh Ji emotions in the song is touching deeply

As narrated by Mr. Viswas Nerurkar in a friend's circle that Gulzar wrote the song where the word "nami" was written only once. Here "nami" has been used twice to match the sequence. Also LP did the same with the lyrics of Gulzar. Only Panchamda could keep the lyric intact with no change, in the album "Dil Padosi Hai" 🤔
