The whole performance is inspiring and the song The Observer at 55:30 is some serious sonically intergalactic grooving music! Siyabonga Mthembu on vocals chanting the ancestrally vibrational incantation is hypnotic!! This right here is an ancient Afrofuturistical ritual in 3D.

Saw Sons of Kemet this week in Chicago. Shabaka is an absolute beast. I hope he tours with The Ancestors again.

Please excuse my ignorance... I am looking for a concert that i can't find on RU-vid anymore. The line up was more or less similar: Shabaka, the same singer and probably The Ancestors (for sure not Brother Moves On nor Sons of Kemet or Comet is coming). This concert was professionally recorded and the first 15-20 sec you could see the opening theme to that jazz festival (can't remember the name though). The whole mood of the concert was more relaxed and i remember they played a fantastic version of Mzwandile.
