Check out PK's RU-vid Channel: / @oregonlife Shad fishing from shore can be quite productive at times. Here are a few tips and examples to help you catch more shad from shore. Also a bonus, I hooked a sturgeon on light gear but lost it.
Man your shad tips are much more legit then mine. I just tell people to go to inlets and fish with swimbaits and eventually the lure will go into the mouth of the shad
It's a great place to fish, it is definitely starting to burst at the seams, nonetheless it is one of the best ways to get people introduced to fishing! Thanks for sharing guys, new sub here!
Look forward to shad season every year. It’s one of the last true runs you can depend on, and you’re right, it’s a great way to get people started. Thanks for the support!
Glad to see PK has seen Clackamette, it’s a good spot for shad fishing but boats do intrude in the area and makes for miserable fishing when you can’t cast where you want.
Yeah it was fun getting him out there before the boats get even worse. There should be plenty of room for boats and bankies, it’s not like there’s a shortage of fish to go around.
Good shad action for you guys. Sucks when boats and shore anglers get into it. It happens here on the Niagara River as well, so much room for the boats to fish but they seem to come close to the bank fishermen. Glad you all got a few shad. 👍
Thanks for the how-to! Great info. I have to say that boat guy was completely in the wrong. I almost always fish from my kayak or boat and there is no reason to crowd the bank folks - there are so many shad out there it's ridiculous. Anyway, great video!
It would have been nice to at least see that sturgeon. But it was a fun day anyway. It’s still a little early, and it was on a Monday, that’s why there weren’t many people.
It is peak she season right now. It was still early when we made that video, and you can catch them consistently through the first couple of weeks of July.
Gopros are nice, but the battery life sucks. We are still learning to use them, we originally started with Yi Lite cameras but they don’t make them any more.
