Wow, I'm honestly glad and surprised that they maintained the fact that the event of 06 was forgotten to pretty much everyone, and we see Shadow actually doesn't know who he is.
Not that the events of Sonic 06 are forgotten by fans, right? Because as this game is a kind of reboot of the story as a whole, it makes sense that Shadow doesn't remember Mephiles.
with the exception of Sonic and Elise since they were the ones who did the soft reset at the end of 06 and in Team Sonic Racing there is a dialogue between Sonic and Silver where he mentions their real first meeting where Silver tried to kill him and Silver just says "I don't know what you're talking about, I never said that to you" and Sonic changes the subject saying "uhh. Never mind, let's race"
@@luizmiguel5484I wouldn't take that game's dialogues seriously, but then again, Sonic Fans still think Eggman is faster than Sonic thanks to Sonic 2 and knowing SEGA probably they'll make it canon anyways because they're that tone deaf

Even though I hated sonic forces,Infinite would've been an awesome boss battle for Shadow in this game.If I remember correctly,shadow was the reason for the creation of Infinite in the first place and ever since Episode shadow,the two never had another fight

As cool as it would be to see Infinite again it wouldn’t make sense since this takes place in Generations timeline and Generations came way before Forces did. Which means Shadow & Infinite haven’t met yet…. Then again this a game about time so they could’ve made the excuse with it being a “Traveling to the Future” concept. Edit: I just found out Sunset Heights from Forces is one of the Shadow’s Levels apparently so yeah guess he does travel to the Future too. I suppose they could’ve made an Infinite Boss Fight if they wanted to but sadly they didn’t.
Mephiles kinda sounds like Shigaraki when he got the white hair. Neat. Also, I really hope SEGA didn’t make Mephiles sympathetic with his whole, “I want to exist,” crap. This is Mephiles we’re talking about, he killed Sonic, and tried to commit omnicide, why bother making him sad now?

I was like why doesn’t shadow remember mephiles then i remember because sonic and elise erased the original solaris and the events of 06 never happened which means shadow never met mephiles but I guess he still remembered shadow in away since he has time powers
Ian Flynn said in a podcast that the Timer Eater is what is left Mephiles’ influence. Though not confirmed to be cannon Ian did rewrite Sonic Gens and some of Shadow Gens so if you’d like you can consider it cannon. It did come from the horses mouth soooo….
I think this has a hint of frontiers! Where its got 5 bosses but the final boss has a new form its Shadow Generations but also Shadow Frontiers if you think about it!
Here before deletion. Sega did NOT need to cook as hard as they did with the Mephiles battle. Wish they used the music from the first fight with him in ‘06 for phase 1 and the music from this fight for phase 2, though. Also, Sonic.exe isn’t that bad, you just gotta look for the good adaptations and act like JC never existed like how the Sonic cast doesn’t adknlowledge ‘06, especially Shadow’s interactions with Mephiles in this fight.
Honestly, i wish the Sonic part had been a boss fight and not a cutscene. It could have been the same fight from base Generations but as Shadow instead of Sonic for all I care.
@@danielcurtis8895 Same with Shadow both are main characters but I guess it depends on who gets the priority first. Like in Shadow's own game Sonic did lose. If this game was called Shadow X Sonic Gens instead of vice versa it would be a diff outcome prolly
So Super Shadow and the Eclipse Cannon couldn't kill Devil Doom but a few Chaos Spears destroyed the evolved Neo Devil Doom? I don't buy it, he'll be back.
Its because the get stronger every game that they are in so just like how sonic frontiers was when sonic was at his peak now shadow is at his peak of strength
1. Super Shadow did kill Devil Doom. The Black Arms are a hivemind, Doom reincarnated in the larva that was in the ARK. 2. Those are Doom Spears and Shadow also went through him.
Considering the first time they needed Super Sonic, super powered Tails and Knuckles and the rest of the teams including Shadow to take down Metal Overlord and now he just walks him over I buy it No i don't buy the Shadow glazing but i buy that he killed Neo Devil Doom
I mean tbf the game looks just about alright, there isnt anything hyping about the game from with Im seeing, Its just a better sonic generation nothing more than that, They could have given a super shadow event.
only six, those being space colony ark, rail canyon, kingdom valley, chaos island, sunset heights, and radical highway/dooms domain also apparently this is gonna be the final build so yeah
I feel like they ruined mephiles a little (just my opinion)they made him way weaker and ruined his dark character by changing his voice making it way worse
