Looks like we're starting the year of Shadow off strong! Today we're taking a look at the trailer for Sonic X Shadow Generations! Basically its a remake/remaster of Generations with an extra added story campaign for Shadow. This was a very pleasent surprise and a fantastic way to start the new year. So hyped for the return of Shadow! Let me know what you think, Creators!

It’s good to be cautiously optimistic with Sonic games, especially after Forces, that game kinda let me down. Hopefully this is fully realized in its potential.

I am not the biggest Shadow fan, but I am glad some of the other characters, besides Sonic are getting attention.

It seems with this remaster, SEGA is testing the waters to see if there’s demand for a possible future Shadow the Hedgehog game. If so, it’s admittedly a smart marketing strategy. Who knows, maybe if this game does well, we may start seeing more characters get their own spinoff titles too. Ultimately, I’m happy to see Shadow get more time in the spotlight with his prominence in Prime, the upcoming 3rd movie, and now this. I also hope this means his character will be handled better too. His portrayal in the 2010s wasn’t the best. (Then again, the former statement can also apply to many other characters as well.) Sonic Frontiers was a step in the right direction in terms of character writing, so I hope they can continue it with this new Shadow campaign.

Yes indeed it does! I’m hoping other characters get the spotlight as well. Silver needs his own game pretty bad, he needs something to redefine his character. But I think Shadow Generations will be great for newcomers to the series as well, I think we’ll see more villains than just Biohazard and Black Doom. But we’ll have to see. Based off the description on Steam it seems very promising and a great refresher before going into the 3rd Sonic Movie.

At most I was expecting for Shadow to be playable in Sonic's levels in Generations. The fact that he's getting an actual story, with the intention of reestablishing his character, has me unbelievably excited. Like, Doom's Eye/Black Doom is back! How on Earth did that happen?! Sega is actually utilizing material from Shadow's game? I know the implication is that this story takes place during Generations, but the trippy environment made me think of Cyberspace from Frontiers. We see Shadow use a Chaos Spear in the trailer. Could we be seeing an adaption of Shadow's move set to a similar if not greater degree to Amy, Tails, and Knuckles in Frontiers? I have so many questions, and I need answers! 🤩

It does make me wonder if he’ll have combat in the game, he seems to have chaos spear and im almost certain chaos blast is coming back too. So they’ll probably take from this for when he shows up in a frontiers style game later on. I think we’ll see Maria again which means we’ll see what design they use for humans as well. We haven’t seen the humans since 2008!😂but yes very exciting stuff!
