One thing I love about them is that they have phenomenal breakdowns, but they haven’t made breakdowns their entire identity. They aren’t always trying to 1 up all the other breakdowns.

Les morceaux de SOI sont une épopée, la puissance, la composition, la technique, tout est présent sans pour autant être une démonstration insipide. On parle beaucoup de Lorna Shore dans les commentaires mais honnêtement les deux groupes n'ont absolument rien de comparable. Will est un excellent chanteur, la trilogie d'ailleurs est excellente, mais j'avoue qu'au bout de 20 minutes Lorna Shore me saoule alors que Shadow of Intent c'est tout le contraire. Ben maitrise son chant à la perfection, le batteur est un monstre et toujours parfaitement audible, tout comme les guitares. Le mixage est exemplaire, ce n'est jamais un immense "foutoir" auditif. Pour conclure je dirais simplement que personne n'arrive à la cheville de Shadow of Intent 😊

If you haven't already, you need to listen to and react to their song The Catacombs. I would have to say, songwise, Flying the Black Flag is better, but The Catacombs is MUCH heavier and is probably their heaviest song of their entire discography.
