I can imagine this game for VR, would be really cool, except for having a lovely FPS of Celobia and Celosia oh! And don't forget Dirge! Because I would totally dig that! Not!
Gotta love in a game with giants, flying sand worms, and laser-shooting turtles, the hardest boss was a simple bull. I say without sarcasm that's so painfully realistic it isn't funny.
For a small guy, this was one of the scariest colossi in the game. Just imagine that shit in real life, you would be f*cked(or any other one in that case)

Quadratus is probably the only exception. He's big, but when he first sees you, he just ignores you and only gets aggressive if you start to mess with him.

Cenobia I thought was a lot more of a pain in the ass, my controller is faulty and everytime I leaned the right-stick to the right, it got stuck, so wander walked off the edge like a derp and I barely got through this fight. Now malus is the pain in the butt
Well, if you are smacked by that kind of shear force, you would lay on the ground for 10 full seconds as well, even more lol I love the agressiveness of these small colossus.
Cenobia just aimlessly runs around and gives up after a while if you don't do anything. Celosia will keep ramming you until you're dead and not stop trying to get to you unless you leave the gorge by climbing the path out back to where you leave Agro. Having played both numerous times, I can definitely say Celosia is probably the most aggressive one. Cenobia is more of a adrenaline rush for me. Celosia is just a bitch.
Celosia is way cuter but Cenobia is still cute you have to look at the right angle and i'd say Cenobia is more of a pug or pitbull like thing while Celosia is whatever Celosia is. Still they are both cute.
Always loved how this song transitioned into the halfway point of A Despair Filled Farewell when the enemy was weakened. Hell it helps that the songs even sound kinda similar. Also did anyone ever notice that this game influenced Zelda Twilight princess in terms of its boss battles? Particularly in that two of them involve climbing an enemy and the way the music transitions when a weak point is exposed similarly to how this song does so?
Something That I Noticed, Is That In The PS2 Version When Cenobia's Intro Ends He Keeps Charging At You Until He Hits The Pillar, But In The PS3 He Stops For Few Seconds, Then he Charges
The platforming challenge of Cenobia is why I like it more than other people. Same goes for other platform heavy bosses like Giant Bowser in New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Bed of Chaos in Dark Souls
God, could you imagine running away from Sirius on Agro to get him stuck in that Stonehenge thing, then missing and getting stuck until he rams into the both of you?
At first, so did I. Then...I got the harpoon of thunder, and throwing it into his back causes him to sheirk in pain and flail his back a bit. it seemed so...painful...I actually felt sorry for him just that once.
I know what you mean. But I have noticed that it is easier to charge up your subsequent attacks and get the hit in if you land the first strike on them with that little jump stab thing.
Has nobody except me noticed that the appearence of Celosia the tiger is somehow a mix of a bull and a platypus. I mean the tail and the front legs are the one of a platypus. I once read somewhere in the internet in a interview with the developer that Celosia was during the development first in a lake and wander had to swim from the lake to the altar and then destroy the armor. But it looked to funny how Celosia is trying to keep up with wanders swimming speed so they scratched the idea. I think the front legs and tail are still some leftover of this time of development and the big water lake becomes the small lake that we see now.
I was so pissed off when it knocked me over the first few times that when I finally got rid of his armor, I just shot a barrage of arrows on his back just as torture the creature. It kinda makes me think back and feel bad about myself. How can a game do that to you?
You guys are saying that he's the hardest one, but i think that basaran and argus are way harder than cenobia. Cenobia can't even touch you, you just gotta make him destroy those pillars, you stay far away from him almost the entire battle. And when his armor falls down, he blackout everytime that ram into something. He's a piece of cake (:. Sorry the bad english, i'm brazilian.
sethgt3 That's only if you know what you're doing. If you were like me, you were on the ground right next to him getting flung across the stage and chain stunned for hours.
+sethgt3 Cenobia was the hardest colossus in the game for me, it depends on how you try to problem solve the different colossi, for instance, basaran and argus were super easy for me, but Cenobia, Dirge, and Pelagia were hard for me.
+Neku Shrouden agree. Basaran for me still a pain in the ass to play, lead him to those geysers (i don't know if it writes like this) it's fucking hard for me.
Once you get to the Colosseum, (if you really do wish to listen to the soundtrack, although I recommend doing so, it's Koh Otani we're talking about here) just wait, don't do anything rash. Maybe even look at Kuromori for a few moments. Just make sure he doesn't see you, because literally, that colossi gave me nightmares.
this may be a stretch but they should of added a bull Colossi that breathes fire and is a little bigger than the 2nd colossi, you would have to run at him on the horse while he charges at you and you jump onto his chest hair/beard to get onto him. he breathes fire when he isn't charging and those are his only two attack patterns, except for a stomp attack similar to the 2nd colossi! I HAVE THOUGHT OF IT ALL!!!
Honestly I don't find Cenobia's stun lock mechanic that frustrating, given the little trenches that you'll get knocked into and are safe in. Celosia's fight on the other hand doesn't have such luxury, especially out near the lake.
I remember taking a decade to try and figure out how to beat this collossus... I always thought that I had to climb that temple he sits on and jump down onto him and ride him into a wall lol good times
This played instead of "Black Blood" when I fought Kuromori, did this happen to anyone else? Avion's theme also played when Kuromori fell, the two songs are very similar...

I don't think it was a worm really. Reminded me more of like Haku from Spirited Away in his dragon form or something. Sand dragon? I don't know lol They actually had plans for a worm colossus though although the spider and devil one seemed the coolest out of the unused ones.
Cenobia is literally the only Colossus I didn't question myself for killing. I was too busy being terrified, climbing things and running away like a bitch. Even when you do break his armor he bucks you off and stomps your ass. I was almost happy to see this mofo fall.
+LonelyPaperclip Cenobia was great because when you first fought him, you had a fear similar to dirge where you had almost nowhere to hide and only one place to run. (which is why i dislike celosia too many places to hide) But what made this fight so enjoyable for me, was in hard mode, since in that mode he kills you very nearly instantly, it was scary as hell knowing one mistep and i was roast beef. care to share any stories of your own?
+Neku Shrouden My personal favorite fight is hydrus. Just like you said, you are swimming in a big deep lake with no where to hide but one way to fight. The guy was so majestic. Especially when you can't find him then you press L1 on your controller then the camera leads you to him right under you, and you're like oh shit!! Back when I first fought him. " woah a lake,nice. I wonder where the big Minotaur guy is? *cutscene plays* yes...wait what a see dragon? MY WORST NIGHTMARE!!!!! Well let's do this!! *after dieing for three hour straight* dammit well I'll just watch him swim from atop of the tower. After three hours. Wow you are so majestic,I don't want to kill you now.* true story of how hydrus became my favorite.
+xXInfernoXx 1254 I loved Avion because he was just flying around gracefully one minute, then the next he's swooping down trying to take you out. But my favorite fight was against Gaius, it really felt like a proper fight to me.

Thats what i thought to but apparently according to the developers this colossus, Cenobia, is supposed to be more of a bull than a lion, despite the armor looking like a mane (thats how u spell it right? The fur on the lions neck). Celosia, the flame keeper is supposed to be more of a lion despite the two horns protruding from its mouth.
