I love it how the game's soundtrack actually changes when you land a critical hit or manage to finally scale an enemy! This track literally urges you on, telling you that you cn do it, you've made it so far! GOOO!!! *wild head banging*
And then it switches to a sad melody as the Colossus collapses, and you realized you haven't vanquished an ancient evil. You've just killed an innocent creature.
+LeviLung Although many have arguments about the quality of Halo, their soundtracks will always hit me hard, as the emotions that are conveyed throughout piece by piece depict a side so incredibly outnumbered and desperate that every battle determines the next, but still they press on, and with luck, win. The Halo series I really liked for both that it was one of my first FPS games I ever picked up, but also the story conveyed. If you want a story, get the books, the games, anything. If you want gameplay, try to stick to some older titles. Halo 4 and onwards don't seem promising in my opinion, but I can confirm solid *solo* play from the older titles. Pick it up and try it or don't, I don't care. But if you want nice emotional pieces, Halo OSTs are solid contenders.
Fyre The Pyro Yes I know what you mean. Sadly, I never owned an XBOX, but I play a lot of Halo 3 and Reach with my friends and their soundtrack always stuck with me. To me, it is now more of a nostalic feeling, but I can understand that it can make someone really emotional, if you are really invested in the story (as you stated via the books, etc.).
LeviLung I only really played the games and I say that just the games are enough to bring you in. The soundtracks can sometimes incorporate modern instruments and that usually hooks my friends into it.
I love when your on the ground and don't know what to do the music is going like "this dude wander is gonna get laid bro" and once you find out how to climb it the music goes like "nah this dude wander got it in the back" best game ever
Kingdom080500 That's my point. No one will be there to rescue you because you will look so much like a dumbass when in reality you are feeling video game PTSD.
you know this is the only game that really gets that David and Goliath setting just right. like in some games where you fight a giant monster its either hitting the monster enough (monster hunter), taking its body points and its weak point and go for the head (almost every platinum games game) or go for the weak-spot specifically ( like those AOT fan games.) but with this game. you HAVE TO GET TO THE POINT NO MATTER WHAT!! if you either suicide rush and go to the legs, or find some way to go to the arms like this collosuss or just find some way, YOU have to get TO GET TO THAT ACHELLES HEEL!! and ooh boy did is it tense and riveting. you dont have 3D manuver gear or something to take it out one by one or armor. you only have your sword and wits to take it down.
This is the "magic" of this track. The composers create battle theme but battled against the amount of space of a ps2 dvd and sound format, so they must create intriguing battle theme that must seamlessly loop on point A and B of the track. Many of ps2 music has this kind of treatment, but this track is the most seamlessly looping without the player notice it in game. Honestly i surprised when i first heard the OST only near 2 minutes long.
What's that I smell? **sniff sniff** It's.... SUNLIGHT! PRAIIIIIIIISE THE SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Despite the obvious sad part of slaying an innocent creature who only attacked you after you attacked it first...I still must admit...that part of this theme hypes me up everytime I play Shadow Of The Colossus And believe me...I play it quite a lot.
For people comparing this with Last Guardian, you have to understand that the people that made this game (can't remember their names at the moment) aren't DJs. They're not just trying to shit out bangers. The games are different with little to no connection to each other on purpose. I played both and loved the two equally. One might have been more fun to play than the other, which is almost inevitable, but the two games were built to be different, to tell different stories, and make you feel different emotions and connections to each of them in their own unique way, and that's why I love them both. You can't compare two things who's only similarity is the creator. They're both different ideas with different meanings, two totally different ballparks
I think this Game is the ultimate experience of something small vs a massive thing That we ever got. I love it, from begginig to end, and the Soundtrack was a reason of it.
Never gets old. I have to admit I only found it from Roblox in 2014.. but ignore that, this song is one of my favorites, and shadow of the colossus is one of my favorite games.
definitely the BEST piece of music not only in this game but of all time and people please speed this thing up by 2x in the options it's the best thing ever
xXMcFreakinXx the joke is that fans of roblox are likely to hear this song in one of the roblox games called flood escape and foolishly think its from there which it isnt
This song has so many fantastic applications in life, and anytime I am fighting something huge like the Dark Souls Hydra I slap this on in the background.
I really love how the music worked in the game, like as soon as you were able to actually deal damage, the music would be like "Whadya waiting for? take that thing down already!!"
Behold! The Majesty of Shadow of the Colossus- one of the greatest games of all-time! It's one of my 3 favourite action-adventure games, alongside The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Okami! This is a masterpiece of a video game!
BigAlvideos101 Try it. It will remind you a lot of Shadow of the Colossus, but then you should try the rest of them as well. The correct order is: Sands of Time, Warrior Within, The Forgotten Sands, The Two Thrones, just in case you didn't know.
George stamatakis I doubt I'll play any of the others besides The Sands of Time, since I don't play a lot of M-rated games, nor do I like most M-rated games. The only M-rated games I actually like are the Metal Gear Solid series as well as the Halo series! Thanks for the suggestion though!
+BigAlvideos101 Well, I won't tell you what to do, but the games after sands of time, except maybe for the forgotten sands(which comes before Warrior Within- sorry for the screw up) don't play much differently and I think are Teen rated(16+). I can't recall any blood in them, or anything violent(or at least more violent than sands of time). Hey, it's your choice how you'll spend your time, I'm just giving out my opinion, nothing more, nothing less.
How far will your courage lead you.... to save that which you love? Even the darkest recesses of the world have a gleam of hope. But is hope enough to spur you on?
He is no knight, no great warrior, he is only a man, chosen to slay beasts far more powerful than he could ever hope to be in order to save the one he loves
@@nurax3090 Oh in that case yes. I finally played it from beginning to end recently (I always started it and left it at some point). And it was an amazing experience. Gameplay is kind of amnoying sometimes, cause of bad camera, but overall amazing game 👌🏻
the memories coming back to me from how many times i fought valus (the first colossus) just to hear this soundtrack and heroically climb him like a badass :)
even though this has been stolen and used so many times for roblox, i feel like the bosses that use it deserve the theme. take NX-1024 from defend the statue, a giant tank capable of destroying anyone in seconds. truly a menacing foe.
This is just a comment about people complaining about roblox creators using this song: This is just a song. And in all honesty, if you were a roblox creator, you wouldnt make your own song, really would you? Also, theres not a need to set a full on battle for roblox people using this song. Let people be creative by using it. Not just making them feel guilty using it. I know a roblox game that used this song called Hotel, and they were actually creative with it. If it's just a single song, there's no need to make a big debate over it. Is it a copy of the entire game? No. So, take a chill pill, and stop going on a rant on roblox creators, k?
I have a serious drug problem and it's called SOTC. I bought this game 3 times - original ps2 version, ico/shadow of the colossus collection for ps3, and now the ps4 remaster
I remember the first boss took over an hour to kill, because there were no instructions, which was awesome reminded me of the good old nes days you just have to figure it out. Yes it gave clues, but didn't know you can charge attack and was trying to do jump attacks to kill it.
I swear I remember hearing this in Roblox before I actually played this game years later, and that makes me angry. It did sort of ruin the battles a bit for me.
@@berserker3108 roblox was released first in 2004 and it was called dynablocks,it got deleted later and they released roblox in 2005,same year as shadow of the colossus
Just what I need half hour extensions of some of the OSTs by Kow Otani and I'll never be bored of this! Could you do an extended version of Swift Horse? That's my favourite composition too.
guys as much of a shitty game roblox is, kids do not see the system that is going on and thus enjoying the game which you cannot blame them for. This is a very popular music in roblox and most fans are little kids who wouldnt even know about shadow of the colossus so instead of arguing them we could maybe approach with a bit more kindness.
Since I learned that this Game's soundtrack is by the same guy who did music for the Heisei Gamera Trilogy, I just imagine Gamera when I play this especially with this song
Now we just ride drakes in order to mount colossal monsters and beat up its sensitive points before returning and shooting it with Ballistae and Cannonballs
