Oof. Stop hitting yourself. Stop hitting yourself. Stop hitting yourself. After all is said and done. The shadow possessed will then pass out due to to no more chalkra points. Also I'm curious if opening a gate reverses a chalkra block?
Good thing Shikimaru wasn’t the first clan member. Otherwise he’d say “ why chase the deer and take their antlers, they fall off, and get chopped frequently. Let’s just wait” Pretty sure first Nara was Orochimaru’s ancestor but with as much love Naruto has. “ let’s create a ridiculous jutsu to catch deer!, but it has to be useful enough in a way it can still attract mates and fight against rivals.”
An extra thing you forgot to mention. It used to be called the Shadow Paralysis Jutsu, so once the shadow attached to the target, it would simply be paralyzed in place. Then later on- sometime after Orochimaru went rouge, they added on the imitation effect. A neat detail I noticed a couple months ago is that Shikadai uses the old Shadow Paralysis Jutsu, as none of his targets copy his moments- iirc.
i think its different jutsu, cuz the very first shikamaru fight in og naruto chuunin exam, he made his opponent copy his movements to hit herself on the head against the wall
@@benjaminlee345 the shadow possession Jutsu has you force your opponents to copy your movements. The shadow paralysis Jutsu causes the opponent to be frozen in place WITHOUT the mimicry when their shadows make contact.
@@jarvonie im think im just misunderstanding your first comment. cuz ive been thinking that shadow paralysis jutsu is a different jutsu to shadow possession, but from your first comment you made it seem like its the same jutsu just with an added effect
@@benjaminlee345 Kind of? I think? The naruto wiki has the two listed under the same page, and Shikamaru’s dad even says they used to call the Shadow Possession Jutsu, the Shadow Paralysis Jutsu. But both techniques have different properties. Only thing is, Shikamaru never uses the shadow paralysis, but Shikadai uses both. It’s weird.
In the Anime, when Shikamaru leads that mission to get Sai, the "bad guy" runs into a room of complete darkness thinking it will stop Shikamaru's jutsu. It doesnt, and if i recall Shikamaru gives a speech on how all darkness is his weapon. Thus implying that Shikamaru found a way to use the jutsu, even in complete darkness.
Love this!!! You forgot the Shadow Lilly Technique that allows control of multiple shadows at once. Shikimaru used this to hold 8 Sound Chunin during the invasion.
The war arc we got to see the clan use it if I remember correctly. After Naruto gives them Chakra of the nine tails. The Nara clan and shukamru use it. But other than that we don't see the clan use that jutsu.
This is my first favorite thing that got me committed into the Naruto series from the game in 2008. It's so innovative to see it in action and I'm still so stoked about it. Thx for sharing ✨👍✨
There was at least one Nara who used the Jutsu. When Naruto fled from the Turtle-Island with Killerbee. When Iruka tried to convince Naruto to stay, a Nara held Naruto with his shadow. But with KCM he released it and fled.
And during the war arc, when many members of the Nara clan used a joint shadow possession to stop the 10 tails movements in the episode: The Allied Shinobi Forces Jutsu, i believe.
@@GhostTetr4 I mean no hate to him but you can tell a lot of his vids he doesn’t do the proper research on pronouncing name like “Kuukio” instead of Kokuo, and he also prob didn’t even realize the other Nara members until the end of the vid because he was looking stuff up while making the vid instead of before… js man. Everyone is entitled to say what they want so maybe don’t tell people what to do? Not v nice lol
@@GhostTetr4 I understand that, but what is a comment section for besides positive affirmation or criticism? I just said something. Don’t get hurt over it my guy.
Check out the chakra-infused kunai flying past Nick's door at @9:25 right as he's talking about that technique! I'm sure it was a car driving by or something, but it freaked me out at first 😂
You forgot about that one Nara Clan member that used shadow possession on Kakashi when he was fighting reanimated Zabuza. So we’ve seen 4 ppl use it not 3😁
So why isn't Shikamaru's main move post shadow possession jutsu to pull out someone else's kunai and cut their throat with it? It has been stated he keeps his kunai in a different spot, so when the opponent is pulling their kunai, he's pulling nothing, it should be as simple as to rake it across theri throat.
@@iladiesnutzoyochin nah, it was during the preliminary chunin exams, against kin, he used shadow imitation jutsu, and his spacial surroundings to knock out Kin, he never felt a thing. The reason they don't tend to kill, unless entirely necessary, is because of one major they'd rather capture than kill, because then information can be learned.
Fun Fact: The antlers of most Cervine animals are not permanent fixtures; they're seasonal. They grow them during spring for mating season, and shed them when winter starts getting deep. Which is why you've probably seen a picture of a deer with a fuzzy/velvety antlers, because their antlers are covered with that flesh while they're growing them and it peels off once they're finished. Meaning it's pretty unnecessary to actually carve antlers off their deer, since they can just be collected wholesale in winter. Makes the Nara not look as smart as they're cracked up to be.
I always thought it would be cool if one of the Nara clan members kept a dummy kunai or training kunai in a pouch spot where everyone has that knife pouch so that they can take the dummy knife out and simulate stabbing themselves in the chest with it while making their opponents stab themselves in the chest with their real knife.
@@edbotikx so when they do the motion to make the other ninja stab their chest and gut the dummy knife will prevent the Nara clan member from harming themselves. But also you put the training knife in your pouch to help simulate grabbing a kunai to make sure that your opponent grabs a Kuni
Fun little thought/theory- as you said it must be a forbidden jutsu so maybe thats the reason the nara clan has a fake “right of passage” so then the only most intelligent members learn it. Maybe a deal the hokage made so such a badass forbidden jutsu wouldnt be used for the wrong reason by such a big clan. Hope that makes sense, love your work dude!!
I just got Shikamaru’s Story [Mourning Clouds] and I’m like half way through and it’s so good. Shikamaru is one of my favorite characters tbh I’ve loved all the Nara clan fellas. I ordered both Itachi light novels as well. I’m excited to read them :3 thank you for mentioning Itachi Shinden because that’s how I found these and I’m so grateful lol
I was hoping you didn't forget the other Shadow possession user in Boruto that for some reason gets a buff during a full moonlight and can cast shadow doppelgangers to fight the people casting The Shadow! I forget his name but he was the lieutenant of a gang, and it was during Boruto and Mitsuki's prison break.
There were a couple of peopl who used the shadow jutsu in the war arc, mainly when sealing the reincarnated shinobi. Also, Hashirama might be a deer sage (close connection to the nara, and their deer of the forest). Also the markings on Hashirama's face are similar to the look of the deers.
I have a bomb ass idea! You should do a “Every justu that (specific character) can do” videos. For example: Every Justu that Kakashi can do, etc. It’ll take a long ass time but it’ll be worth it
I remember ppl other than shikaku, Shikamaru and shikadai using shadow possession Jutsu 1. Ebisu (not the closet perv. A pineapple boy from Nara clan) used during Kakashi vs that hammer swordsman from mist fight. 2. another pineapple guy used it when Iruka and team went to turtle Island to keep Naruto hidden. 3. Bunch of pineapple boys used it to hold the tentails (just as u mentioned)
At 9:25-9:26 time frame. I could of see a ghost spectrum flying outside Nick’s door. Other than that, the Shadow Possession Jutsu is my favorite Jutsu of all time
I think there's a clip from the fourth ninja war, I think it was the fight against the ten tails, where it showed like a dozen narra clan member using shadow possesion
Interestingly Nara park in Japan has a deer as its national treasure, so they roam freely and injuring the deer is a finable offense. They aren't scared of people at all they're like big dogs. Look it up! Very cute and cool. The Nara clan may be a reference to this prefecture.
would you ever consider covering the jutsus from the Ultimate Ninja and Ultimate Ninja Storm games? I know they are not cannon but i think it would be an awesome probably multi part video.
You thought you already know everything about Naruto. Damn. I learn more everyday thanks to this channel. 2nd fave chanel next to DBZirman (Bleach/DBZ). NOW TO FIND THAT GREAT CHANNEL FOR ONE PIECE TO COMPLETE THE TRINITY OF SJ.
One thing I’ve always wondered is why do we not see many puppet users outside the hidden sand and i was always wondered what other puppets are there in naruto and if there there are any other techniques that use two puppets together like the Iron Maiden technique
nothing related to this, but u can make a video on how isshiki could come back, cause of this plot hole I found out. Well, in the arc where naruto learns the sage mode, the frog guy(old frog who jiraya writes the code on) mentions that if one shadow clone becomes a frog while learning sage mode, if naruto releases the clone jutsu, naruto would become a frog statue himself, like how info from a clone comes to naruto when he releases the jutsu. if this was actually true in boruto, kawaki should have gotten the karma too, since jigen implanted the karma into his clone before dying.
Wasn’t there a scene during the 4th great shinobi war where the entire Nara clan used their jutsu on the ten tails? I seem to remember Madara commenting on it
Fun Tidbit! Albeit probably not canonical, in the early 2003 release of Naruto: Ultimate Ninja for the PlayStation 2 Kakashi, after activating his sharingan had the option of mimicking his opponents Jutsu, and coincidentally when versing Shikimaru in coop & verses mode he was able to copy Shadow Possession. Perhaps making him the seventh person to ever demonstrate the technique on screen, and possibly the first to use it outside the Nara clan itself. It raises the question, can Uchiha copy Hiden techniques of different clans despite it never being seen? Probably not! But that’s all conjecture, each to their own. Great video btw Cheers!
missed opportunity... nara clan should have learned as many jutsus as possible so that they could make their puppet weave hand signs. If you need fire but youre not a fire type, you capture a fire type & make him hurl fire balls at your opps, which will more than likely be your puppet''s allies. smh grievous misuse of ability. Loved the video breakdown. The last fact was my favorite one about the kunai pouch placement
They should upgrade this jutsu in Boruto at some point to work like Toad Flatness - Shadow Manipulation Technique, where the user can control the body and mind of the target, remove the restrictive element of the technique (as shown they can do). Might be too strong, but it's the natural upgrade from Shadow Bind > Shadow Imitation > Shadow Possession (actual possession).
Most overpowered ninja build. Be apart of the Nara clan. Learn all shadow abilities. Be proficient at shadow clone jitsu Learn a light blocking zone jitsu (A box or forcefield placed around you and your opponent, Blocking lights from a certain area by your controlling IE- if you want the right or behind your opponent to have a shadow, you block of a part of your light blocking box jitsu) Then use shadow possession jitsu through your shadow clones. :3 Once captured enemy, you use your shadow clone jitsu to kill him
This has nothing to do with this video, but Nick I need you to make a video on the new Sao movie because I just watched it and it really ticked me off, Sao is one of my favorite animes it was one of my first animes and I love it, and they changed so many little details for that movie like I've never heard of mito, I thought Asuna was a gamer that had her own nerve gear and Kirito and Asuna didn't meet until the strategy meeting for the level one boss, they changed so much and some of it filled in some gaps from the original series but I don't know what to believe with it, because mito wasn't in the original anime, and I love your content and you do your research really well and I know that you will uncover what is going on here so please make a video about this
why wasn't borushki able to absorb shikmaru shadow paralasis technique but Momoshiki did at the chunnin exam and kawaki did after jigen captured Naruto at their house...
