A compilation of most every example of Shadow using Chaos Powers. I say "most" because I could have included like 5 more minutes purely of Shadow using Chaos Control and Chaos Spear in Sonic X since he uses it a ton. I also was not willing to look through twenty year's worth of comics to find every single example of Shadow using Chaos abilities since there's heaps.
I guess this was sort of collated as a response to Smash Ultimate Echo Fighter debate and the sheer amount of people who say that he's always been a Sonic clone moveset-wise. I agree that an Echo is the only way Shadow would ever be playable in Smash, but it also needs to be acknowledged that Shadow has always been constructed around his Chaos abilities. You cannot understate how central they are to him, the history of Shadow the Hedgehog is the history of Chaos Control.

@@extended2988 No they are not. Guns were only given to Shadow because fans requested that Sonic Team should give Sonic guns. They didnt want to give Sonic guns, so instead they gave Shadow guns. It does not make any sense to give Shadow guns. Reason 1 - Sonic is a platformer game. Not a shooting game. Reason 2 - Why use a gun when his Speed and Chaos moves are stronger and faster then a bullet. Reason 3 - It goes against some of his personality traits. When Shadow fights anyone, he doesn't like to hold back. A gun is basically going to have him holding back. When he has moves that can deal more damage quicker, like Chaos Spear, Chaos Snap, Chaos Blast, Chaos Rift, and Chaos Control. It doesn't make any sense for him to use it. Sonic Team only slapped it on him for two reasons. 1. Fans requested it for Sonic. 2. Because they have the power to give him guns.

I just love Shadow's connection to Chaos Energy and the Chaos Emeralds and how he can use them, it's unique and creative and it's one of the reasons why he is one of the best Sonic characters.

Yh man shadow was awesome in 06 even when mephiles tried to manipulate him into joining him and showed him the truth that humanity still fears him. He only determined his own destiny and didn’t want to fall into evil again and focused more on his present letting the past and future fade away.

he isn't actaully a sonic clone, the sonic clone is actaully metal sonic, people don't know that shadow is the one who teached sonic how to use chaos control in one emerald (he didn't actaully wanted to lol) he also did teached silver how to use chaos control, also people don't know that shadow born immortal which he can live millions of years while sonic was originally a human and somehow turned into a blue hedgehog, same with his friends.

A lot of his more often-used powers seem to have multiple variations despite sharing the same name, for instance; Chaos Spear: "Shot variant" Where he simply shoots one or more chaos spears as a basic projectile. (Sonic 06) "Rain variant" He rapidly shoots out multiple spears over a wide area at once. (Sonic X) "Weapon variant" He uses a chaos spear as a literal spear. (Archie Comics) "Magic variant" The chaos spears are automatically conjured at the target of choice rather than shot as a projectile (they simply "appear" where they need to be and Shadow doesn't have to shoot them). (Sonic Adventure 2) "Mine variant" Shadow lays out multiple unmoving spears on the floor with the intention of using them as traps or obstacles. (Sonic Generations) "Meteor variant" Shadow launches various spears upwards which later come crashing down. (Sonic Boom) "Mass variant" Shadow conjures multiple spears around him then launches them forward all at once. (Sonic 06) Chaos Blast: "Bomb variant" Creates a large explosion centered around Shadow himself. (Shadow the Hedgehog) "Miniature variant" Similar to the Bomb variant but the explosion is much smaller. (Sonic 06) "Beam variant" Shadow launches the blast like a beam similar to Goku's Kamehameha. (Sonic Chronicles) "Dome variant" Larger than the Miniature variant but smaller than the Bomb variant, he also seems to be able to use this at point-blank range. (Sonic and the Black Knight) "Spike variant" Shadow conjures up what appears to be many red spears which emerge from the ground organized in a circle around him. (Sonic Boom) Obviously there's much more, but you get the idea, I just wish he'd use these powers more often instead of just imitating Sonic, he's like a warlock or dark magician of sorts.

@@donathan2933 I was debating with a person who said shadow had more experience and skill than sonic, which is bullshit. Sonic also has hyper sonic which again is like 7 seven times more powerful than the usual super state. Shadow is evenly matched considering his chaos powers, they are equally matched in strength, sonic takes speed, and for intelligence both are extremely smart so I don't know about that. If shadow takes off his rings than he has an advantage in power for a bit.

Shadow if he ever gets into Smash should be more than just a Sonic clone cuz he has plenty of abilities that Sonic doesn't like Chaos powers

It's actually called Chaos Magic in-game. Chaos Snap as a term first came up in Sonic 2006 as the name for Shadow's short-range teleport move.

@@allenphillip_man623 Didn't you remember messing around with the cards for Emerl's moveset editing mode? All of those cards have the names of the attacks on them. Every single attack in the game has a name. You could just look up a Skill Card guide and have all the names right there.

There is that one scene in Sonic X after Mollie dies in which he flies towards the Metarex and literally nukes them with his power, and he wasn't even Super Shadow. Also in Sonic Chronicles he has an ability shown in this video called Chaos Rift which is described as Shadow creating a space-time rift which, if successfully landed onto an enemy, literally banishes them from this universe. Gameplay-wise it's a 60% chance for an instant K.O. I think these abilities might be satisfactory in terms of power-level.

shadow is most likely the next candidate in potential for a hyper form.. his super form is silver... drained him quickly the master emerald was near he could have been hyper or ultra(state inbetween in the comics(it requires only 1 super emerald instead of 7))

Beautiful job! But what you call "snap" is officially called "warp" and yes, in true its not the same as chaos control. Gee, what a diverse appearance Choas Blast had! It's amazing how many that ideas were there.

@@nossiro Oh, I didnt get notification about this message, sorry :( Well, the difference is simple - Chaos Control can only be performed when having at least one Chaos Emerald. Chaos warp is natural Shadow's ability, but allows him to move at shorter distances (this element was used at the end of the "Shadow Fall" Archie comic arc).

It would be a nice upgrade from being a Assist Trophy. Shadow the Hedgehog is my favorite Sonic character and favorite SEGA character. To keep him from being an echo of Sonic and his own full character, here's what I think he could do. His Neutral Special is Homing Attack, an attack here he homes in on a nearby opponent and attacks as a concussive ball. Unlike Sonic's his is a little slower but more powerful. (Which showcase he's a more brutal fighter then Sonic), When Chaos Boost is fully charge he does one Chaos Attack instead, which, after a Homing Attack, hits the opponent a second time with a Chaos Energy infused punch, doing more damage. His Side Special is Chaos Spear, a horizontal attack of raw chaos energy, shaped like a spear that slightly goes downward when launched, like PK Fire. It can also slightly stun the opponent. When Chaos Boost is fully charged he does one Chaos Lance, an upgraded Chaos Spear with more power and explosive doing more damage to his opponent. His Up Special is Chaos Control, a short range teleport in the direction the person is pressing, like Mewtwo's teleport. With Chaos Boost fully charge, he does one Chaos Snap, his teleport has increased range along with striking anyone with a chaos energy infused kick that happens to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. His Down Special is Chaos Boost Charge, like Cloud's Limit Break charge, and when fully charged pressing his Down Special again makes him do Chaos Blast. His Final Smash makes him go Super Shadow and uses Spear of Light to make it rain Chaos Lances form above like PK Star Storm. His special ability is Chaos Boost, which is treated like Cloud's Limit Break meter. When fully charged it upgrades his moves, for one powerful move use before needing to charge to full before another powerful move use. His upgrades when Chaos Boost is fully charged is Homing Attack to Chaos Attack, Chaos Spear to Chaos Lance, Chaos Control to Chaos Snap, and Chaos Boost Charge to Chaos Blast.

I say "most" because I could have included like 5 more minutes purely of Shadow using Chaos Control and Chaos Spear in Sonic X since he uses it a ton. I also was not willing to look through twenty year's worth of comics to find every single example of Shadow using Chaos abilities since there's heaps. "
