Hope you guys enjoyed the video! I worked non stop since the episode's release to get the video out asap. 🫡 Hopefully I can get the 2nd one out before I leave for the holidays!
So the anime shows a repeat of his fight with the soldier. Instead of it being pretty even now cid just dominates him. So not he did not lose his powers. @@lights_utopia1130
Cid's true power still remains "Bullshit Manifestation: Everything you say, implicit, or explicit, where on purpose or accident, shall come to pass as the truth of the world."
nope its not that, he mean cid real power is make up stuff if cid said there is a secret door that connect to midgard to the moon there will be a door like that.
I loved the way the manga handled Cid revealing Rose’s mom and Perv 😂 he thought Rose was only staying because her mom was being held captive, so at night, he took her to where her mom was and said “come with me, I shall let you see the queen” just for them to stumble in on the reveal that the queen and perv were having an affair 😂 that genuinely got a laugh out of me, and I thought it really played into the whole Cid doing things by accident trope.
The entire series hinges on Cid being a LARPer. Him making up stuff on the spot and that just happens to be correct is the joke that serves as the entire foundation of the entire story.
I always thought it was very thoughtful of Perv and the Queen to recite the entire litany of their evil deeds and plans whilst in the throes of illicit passion. Made it very convenient for Cid to reveal everything to Rose all at once.😂
Never thought they could one-up the S1 flex, but this might have even done that, or at least gotten close. I'm really excited for this next arc, I've heard a lot of good things about it.
Not at all,he absolutely humiliated Beatrix and Iris. Sure the feats here in s2 are bigger but the fight in s1 felt a lot more personal, that fight is still the ultimate flex of this series, nothing comes close.
@@onesmileybaldy8303 I disagree cid straight up disrespected mordrid and created the light of a sun at night that pretty much most of the world could see
@@onesmileybaldy8303s2 definitely show us more power, but yeah that s1 fight really impressive and impactful and feel soo personal because we all irritated with irys selfishness which compared to Mordred he just a 1dimensional evil villain character
Scope of Shadow Garden as of S2 E12: * At least 666 members. * Through Rose, will run the Orianas Kingdom as a puppet state. * Through Yukime, runs Lawless Town as a puppet state. * With increasing chances of Iris having a meltdown and the King being assasinated, has placed itself in the perfect position to use Alexia to run Midgar as a puppet state. * Conquered and probably holds sway over a legendary dragon and a vampire queen * literally have money printers * The de-facto reserve currency of multiple nations. * Controls the largest department store chain in the known world, which in turn runs numerous sub-enterprises including fast food chains and theme parks. * Likely have access to advanced magi-tech hidden for hundreds of years * Independently developed advanced technology that puts the rest of the world to shame * Likely to be a future oil monopoly * Largest known property owner in the world short of royalty * Owns a private city with impenetrable defenses * And whose key members include 1. Possibly the strongest mage on the planet 2. A reincarnation of the Elf Hero 3. Isekai Jeff Bezos 4. Isekai James Patterson 5. Isekai Henry Ford/Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin/Who the hell knows what else 6. Isekai Sergei Rachmaninoff 7. Two absurdly powerful therianthropes, at least one of which as direct lineage to clan royalty. 8. The queen of the Orianas Kingdom.
Both therianthropes are direct lineage. Their fathers were the clan chiefs of their respective tribes. Delta’s father is believed to still be alive but Zetas father and whole clan were killed by the cult trying to get to her.
I don't think oil will ever be used in that world like it is in ours, as Eta have predicted what would happen if they did, and since there is magic in that world, it will most likely have a better alternative.
11:34 that was shown in the anime. In season 1. In whole Aurora arc. When Cid deflected attack of cult assassin with a wooden ice-cream spoon - it was Epsilon, who killed that assassin with her ranged attack. That's where Cid complimented her insane magical skills.
I bet he wants to finish eminence in shadow before Christmas so he can take the actual holiday off without anything to worry about finishing when he’s ready to go again. And he can start doing the next anime when he’s ready. I really appreciate these videos. They look like they take a ton of time and effort to do.
@@kjyuif the anime production team play their cards right, they would make it interesting, slowly revealing the truth of the world while keeping Cid's gag
I heard that the whole position of the main staff that worked on both episodes 20 and 32 was only filled by one person (by literally, that one single person managed to fill every position by himself).
I'm glad he didn't. Just for the name alone, I couldn't stand the idea of him becoming a knight of the round. He died as he lived and as I hoped he would; as an unremarkable bastard.
He also was one the few in the cult to take shadow garden seriously and saw the cult was grossly underestimating them. I just wish we got to see him fight instead of being one shot by Mordred.
We make a lot of jokes about Cid not realising what's going on around him. But in the last few episode I feel like Rose should have figured out that Cid is Shadow. This below average knight is suddenly able to sneak in to her champers without use of magic (even bringing a piano once) and then he just suddenly dissappear after spouting melodramatic nonsense (very shadow like move), they also show up to her room right after each other (basically the only two people who contact her in this time period, and they have both played the moonlight sonata for her, which I think isn't a published work at this point, or at least very new work. She would have to accept a lot of coincidences and inconsistencies in Cid's power for her not to realise
Cid intentionally did not used magic to climb there. Even commented how hard it is to do without magic. But being a magic knight - it's not impossible to do so. Like, Juggernaut climbed Vampire's tower and he is hardly a strong magic user. The moment of Cid playing piano was so surreal, that Rose thought it was an illusion. Since her mental state at that point was broken. Moonlight sonata was a famous piece in their world, since Epsilon played it a lot. As it was first melody Cid taught her. So when Shadow played moonlight sonata for her back in season 1 - Rose commented that "she heard that piece so many times, but this one was the most beatiful". Furthermore Rose never heard Cid playing moonlight sonata. Because that one time she thought it was an illusion of Cid. i'm more concerned with change of her magic color. In season 1 she had yellow. After Shadow cured her possesion - her magic color became light blue. But in season 2 she again had a yellow magic color
Actually in WN, Rose already suspecting Cid as Shadow and planning to ask Alpha about it but have to put it aside bcs there were urgent issues need to be handled of her Kingdom situation after great crisis
While this show never failed to impress me and leave me wanting more each episode, I feel like the "I'm Atomic" scene could've been done with the same emphasis on dramatic effect or more since it's the most impressive display of power thus far. Nevertheless, this show has me on a chokehold like no other, definitely one of my favorites of all time.
Damn this season finale was far more hype that the manga. They added so much stuff. Amazing season. Looking forward to another season of peak. Cuz no way it doesn't get another season. Edit: Although it didn't show the fight with ragnarok I honestly prefer the way they did this. The space nuke was dope. The only thing that felt off was the repeat of ep 1 that happened with the exact same guys kidnapping ayane. Like no way in hell should they have been able to capture her.
I feel like what Mordred said about the lore of different realms can be applied to practically all isekai that ever exists. The center of the diagram that Mordred shows of what could be a simplified version of the isekai multiverse is the realm of gods that usually summon of reincarnate people from Japan or just Season 3 of Isekai Quartet hinted from the cross over special at Halloween. Ether way,I do like that the different realms concept could be isolated to this Isekai only or some people in the community could accept this as a head canon that this is lore for all Isekai in this anime multiverse, can’t wait to see more.
The center point is obviously our universe its the source of all known fiction which spins of to become their own universes orbiting around the original universe.
What about the fact that they cut Beta out of the portal to earth. Beta takes such a big role on earth and they cut that part. 🙄🙄 anime is cool but pisses me off most of the time by cutting important parts and making it guffy and. Look at the drags on the manga and compare it to the drags in the anime night and day. It looks like they were animated by a child.
If you look closely, we dont see the portal closing (rather the sky changes to japan, making it seem like it closes). What will happen in the movie will no doubt be Beta rushing in after him. There is no way they can cut out Beta, how else will he come back to this world? ;) Also, Beta's role is not only necessary, it is funny as hell too. If they followed the novel closely, there would be a shit cliff hanger. I think the way they did it in anime is good for any non novel reader. Definately a better way to end the season than Cid watching Beta trying on clothes and defeating a bunch of super low level monsters.
I'm more interested, In this so called "Magic Realm" since if both realms did indeed combine there should at least be someone or something that's the strongest out there after pretty much all shadows power is built on magic if you have a god of magic would could shadow do since that god could just make him unable to use it.
I would say yes Afterall if your the god of power your the embodiment of power so everything thats related to power is in your domain and if smt is in your domain you can controll it as you wish@@thefinalday5858
If Cid created an explosion visible throughout the observable universe pretty sure he would be the most power protagonist in any anime. Also that explosion would have easily erased the Milky Way.
We dont know the size of the explosion That was just light of it Unless shadow was covering everything with barrier like he did with alexia Also that was only the solar system tho? Where did you get the universe part
@@infectedtheretardshunter1987 in order to make that much light regardless of the size of the explosion it would've vaporized everything. Every other time he used the barrier it clearly showed it.
season 2 has been extremely lazy with the fights they use his atomic as an excuse to shorten the fight and are clearly clueless as to why the fights are so much fun in the manga and LN. The joy of seeing the characters show their skills and new moves or why its so cool but no AoToMiC SpAm. When Cid uses it spareingly so that its more cool when he pulls it out.
When I watched it I thought the girl was maybe Beatrix or something, but now I see she is smirking (so obviously in the know) and indeed has hair like Zeta. And knowing what will happen with Zeta in the future.... Best girl scene and I almost missed it!
@@humandynamo9951 Spoilers: Seriously big spoilers: Zeta Isn't happy with Alpha's soft approach, so she 'sort of' defects or rather starts a faction inside Shadow garden (With victoria as her underling and one more girl who isnt part of shadow garden but will appear in season 3). Her goal is to ressurect diablos inside claire, take the immortality from diablos and give it to Cid, making him a God and starting a new religion in his name.
I'm glad that they are making a movie instead of another season... Because in around 2-3 arcs it's gonna catch up to the manga which will bring more headaches to the manga artists..
19:07 That is most likely Beatrix, she is wearing a clothing that resembles more of Beatrix's Elven themed clothing rather than Shadow Garden Uniform and she is holding some ritual / prayer object most likely praying for her lost sister (who is most probably Alpha).
I cant wait for EoS Ost for season 2 to drop in a few days. The Sound & Music design of this series is one of the main parts that keeps me coming back every single time. It's just to good, the guy who directed the music is an absolute genius.
The main difference from Manga and LN is that, in manga and LN, Shadow doesn't have a infinite amount of mana nor he's the strongest in terms of strength, but he has the skills, experience and techniques that makes up for it and made a formidable opponent for anyone. He is someone who calculates everything from the very beginning and plans his flashy way to finish off the battle. But in the anime it seems they are approaching a different route for Shadow, that is he is just too OP for anyone. In the anime it's like he's the strongest in terms of speed, skills, magic and strength. Even though he stills has the basics of the manga like using minimum efforts to deal with someone with most flashy way.
not sure, how you read. But in LN and Manga Cid does have nearly an infinite amount of mana. Since he had his consciousness from moment of birth - at young age he practiced magic. But hit some limits. That's where mutated body of Alpha came in handy. Cid didnt tried to save her. He experimented on the ways to imporve magic even further, to handle the magic overloads. So he experimented on Alpha and then improved himself with successfull results. It just happened that he meanwhile, fixed her magic overload. Anime doesnt show it, because it will be boring to sit there and listen about his "fighting distance". Like holy shit how much it was explained in LN, i was bored to death reading it.
fuckin love this show, that twist at the end where he returns to his world just made me love the show even more, this is definitely in my top 5 of all time followed behind Re:Zero, Evangelion, Akira, and Mushoku tensei🫡
SPOLIERS AHEAD I cant f*cking believe they suddenly deviated from the tradisional isekai to now have magic in our similar IRL Earth genre (lots of Korean manhwa have this) and have a Multiverse build up, THIS IS CRAZY AWESOME, even Reiterating the VERY first episode
Magic in "real" earh that concept already existed in Anime and was popular around 2004-2009, anime like haruhi, kaze no stigma, index, railgun, death note etc.. the chuunibyou era of Anime.😅
I remembered there was a backstory about Zeta that make sense in the anime. Zeta was born with tremendous mana, which is very rare for a beastkin since they are only about physical strength, and this caught the attention of the cult when she was out hunting for food for her tribe (or something else, can't remember it). So one day the cult desended to her village when she's experiencing posession, killing everyone except her as they want to take her for experiment. Cid was somehow in the vicinity and just kills the cult members, thinking they were bandits just like what he did in Yukime's village. Zeta was of course distress from her village being slaughtered, but was in awe of Cid's magic and sword skills and thus begin to worship him after he heal her and she joining SG. So the scene of her something like wearing her tribe clothes and looking like she's praying to some makeshift graves actually makes sense. I think this was shown in the game about her backstory sidequest or something.
It kinda contradicts the LN. Volume 6, chapter 119, after Delta killed her brother. Quoting: "However, though most beastkin hold respect for the strong, not many take it as far as Delta does. Such thinking is common among the beastkin. Plainly speaking, the beastkin are super cheats in regards to their basic specs. Beastkin have greater physical ability, sharper senses, better reflexes, higher amounts of magic power, longer life spans, also higher fertility rates. If not for the defects in their brains they would have dominated this world." Beastkin DO have HIGHER amounts of magic power. But, due to their average lower intelligence, they simply use it to boost their stats. That's why it seems like they not strong with magic. Delta's destructive powers second only to Cid himself. And we can see it when she was fighting in Sanctuary where magic was disrupted, but Delta still was unleashing enourmous magic powers after long fight. Maybe Zeta has more, than average beastkin. But she still loses to Delta in every fight, even after learning the mist ability. I'd rather commend on her intelligence, which is rare amongst beastkin. Being capable of performing spying and infiltration missions.
At least they didn't change too much. Heck the first atomic was way cooler than what the LN described and no amount of imagination could display the dance Shadow had with Elizabeth.
Outstanding video. I have been waiting for this video for 2 days now since I finished the season finale. Your recaps and cut content coverage is by far the most enjoyably and entertaining. Looking forward to the next part of the video you are working on and thanks again.
So before I said Rose deserves better and that her mother was the personification of everything wrong with Oriana Kingdom's nobility, finding out Queen Reana was the cause for all of Rose's troubles that started and that she and perv were in an affair only reinforced that the Kingdom of Oriana and not just Rose deserves better. Rose was as expected shattered by the realization and sought for an end to her nightmare which Cid did so along with the encouragement she needed to right the wrongs that had happened. The cult of Diablos actually not being a unified monarchy makes them less powerful because of the powerplays that comes with it. The main governing body are the Twelve Knights and even then they too are plotting things. That last bit explained to a lot of watchers why Season 2 was only 12 episodes and that the second half of Volume 4 explains why Akane is on the cover when the first half covered the Oriana Kingdom arc. Anyone who doesn't know but what I would call, the Home Forever Changed Arc is being covered and adapted into a movie explaining why Japan is in ruins and why Akane has a baton she can infuse with magic and why her kidnappers from before are turned to cyborgs. That whole thing about dimensions Mordred talked about comes to play for that explanation and let's just say Cid returns to the home he had left that has been torn asunder. One gripe I have with the LN volumes for Eminence in Shadow is that one volumes contains two arcs that don't exactly connect with one another aside from the intro of certain characters and events that lead up to it.
The final battle with the black rose is really the only thing I liked better how it was done in the manga. There were aspects of the anime I liked better though. Another thing though is I don't like how they revealed pretty much everything on the next arc, rather than keeping it shrouded in mystery. It does make sense though if the next arc will be covered in a movie, but still.
I really, really, really, really, really wanted that “Lot of bark for a mook” line to end up in episode 12, damn it. The fact that the last episode’s ending, and thereby the movie, are going anime original, pisses me off intensely.
that one thing stings me these 2 thugs from the start arent even supposed to exist they are dead they just brought back in the anime to insta kill them again
why does Cid's face when in Eminence clothing in the anime look so generic still? Besides a couple joke panels in the manga it's mostly just his serious expression, not the generic mob face
Why does they do Princess Clara spin off that would be awesome and very interesting. We watching anime and reading manga knows that Rose was only child of his poor king father and adulterous and bitch of the mother but they both died, one king Raphael who killed by Rose out of pity and Queen Raina who killed by Mordred alongside Deom or Perv. Now she is the Queen ruler of Oriana it is nice to have a blood relative strong militaristic sister by her side to lead. So anime may have that spin off even if manga don't.
They stop halway through a volume of LN, and back then when s1 airing i was thinking that they gonna stop in oriana and proceed to make a movie for the later half of Volume 4 I was wrong when i though they adapting 4 volume for a season, but im right that they stop after oriana kingdom Soo may be a movie will follow after this
For the most part the anime tried to stay true to the manga. Only thing I was upset about was him being pulled back into his home world and they changed up the whole story to it. But I figured the anime should be able to do it justice so I can't complain until I see the next season. I just hope it doesn't pull a rising of The Shield hero and does a great job at translating from light novel to anime and then turn around and just sit on the second and third season and rush through everything
im suprised rose didnt make the connection between cid and shadow during the piano on the balcony scene. its the exact same thing shadow did when she first met him: a piano in a place it has no business being at with cid mysteriously playing moonlight sonata, the same damn song shadow was playing. and all the allusions he made to the moonlight. after shadow made is dramatic exit she said " he is a ray of moonlight that pierces the darkness"
someone please explain the diffrence and what are the light novels web novels and manga please! also why is there 3 vers and which one is the anime based off of someone plase let me know
Spoilers: Basically, Cid is just being him, having fun without knowing what is going on and trying to look cool, while Beta quickly starts to learn Japanese, flames people on the internet and figures out a way back to the other world. Also, someone will be kidnapped at the end. Guess who.
