recently got the dub version to season 5 and seeing as there was a lot more interactions between Macaque and Wukong this season and being a big fan of Shadowpeach thought it be fun to put them together.
For some of y’all ready to say “BUT THEYRE BROTHERS UGHHH” No. MK and Wukong are brothers. They’re from the same stone. Wukong and Macaque are SWORN brothers. If you have a frat brother does that mean you’re actually brothers? Genuinely use your brains. Also if you don’t like it by the title, why watch the video? Thanks for the engagement though! :-)
Wanted to tack on as someone who is Chinese - sworn brothers, sworn sisters, and sworn siblings could also be your spouse. The reason they said sworn [insert title] was to avoid being found out as an actual couple due to it not being allowed and still isn't. So they have to word it to make it sound like they were just friends/saw each other as siblings to people.
In the original JTTW, in context, the Six-Eared Macaque and Wukong are widely considered to be of 'one mind' or 'one heart', thus sharing DNA and making them functionally brothers by SOME interpretations. However, in LMK this is fairly clearly not the case, and on top of that, the Six-Eared Macaque is merged with the Macaque Spirit King (who was part of the brotherhood and was wukong's sworn brother) so they're. really not brothers in this, even when taking into account the original context.
You forgot the part where MK goes “who is this guy? I’m just use to these villains being recycled your villians” Mei goes “ or you ex best friend” with Macaque standing right now and he HIDES HALF HIS FACE IN HIS SCARF EMBARRASSED!!

0:48 the fact that both him and MK basically hade the same response to him picking up Wukong's staff shows that they both kinda share the same braincell
3:10 the fact that Wukong’s worst memory is when he killed Macaque. And you get to seen Wukong’s perspective on it. Macaque had given him no choice but it’s clear that Wukong still blames himself
As someone who watch OSP video and with how this show change some part of the story, i wonder the stort is that when Monkey King was fighting his imposter, he didnt know it was Macaque becuase well, what kind of evil "villain" would like to...oh i dont know, want to re-create their own "Journey to the West" by make a copy of the gang out of monkeys? I not suprise the reason why Monkey King was so upset that he have to "kill" is because Macaque basicly try to replace him on that journey it self with Macaque use the same arguement like when he show MK the shadowpuppet show to tell his origin story...
I don’t know if he killed him or not. So far during the show Wukong always acted like he was expecting Macaque to show his face again at anytime. When he heard of Azure Lion returning, he was confused because he knew that he put him in the underworld himself. He never behaved that way when Macaque was around. He probably didn’t know that he was dead at all
@@bluebelt1235Macaque’s only appearance in the novel was his battle with Wukong that ended in his death. And in the canon of the show Macaque died during that fight and was brought back by the Lady Bone Demon, which is how he ended up stuck working for her. And it’s possible that Wukong was expecting him to turn up because he already knew that Macaque was back from the dead
3:20 did anybody else noticed that wukong almost cried because of his past memory or is it just me? Seems like wukong doesnt want to lose macaque again.
He almost cried at that, and then full on cried when Mk "died" cuz that situation reminded him of when Macaque died. And guess what? He was wearing the circlet in both situations. And in both scenarios, Wukong said "don't make me do this..."
I refuse to belive the animators and writers dont know about this ship, they knew what they were doing, ans that last scene of Wukong wanting to hold Macaque hand, PLEASE, THEY KNOW, they know this fandom and they keep sugesting this moments to us
@@talishap5397 Alejandro Saab! While he hasn't outright said he ships it- he has commissioned a print of them two and replied with "pride 365" to it, retweeted ship art of the two when he released his cover of peaches, and knows it exist. So, yeah, i wouldn't doubt! He has called them cute!

I can’t get over the parallels of the dynamics between Macaque, Wukong, and MK. You can’t convince me that when Wukong was fighting against MK he wasn’t having flashbacks to when he faced Macaque (the battle that led to him putting Macaque in the underworld) plus there are so many times in the show that Macaque looks out for MK because he worried that he’d share the same fate as him by being around Wukong. Both Monkey king and Macaque use their history with each other to guide the choices they make with MK and it’s such brilliant story telling it has me screaming!
You can’t convince me that Macaque’s “IT DOESN’T ALWAYS HAVE TO BE YOU” wasn’t coming from a conversation he’s had before with Wukong. He screamed it like he’s talked about it countless times and it never got through 😭
“ He needs.*corrects himself* WE need to know everything we can.” You can tell there has been a lot of character development in Macaque since Season 4.
Is also cute and sad that wukong look at macaque and then like hey bud hold my hand don't worry we have each other and then... nine headed demon show up and ruined the moment ❤❤😢 it made me cry so much that my siblings are curious like their saying hey sis is okay we know how much you care about wukong and macaque 😢😢

OK season five was great. I don’t care what anybody else says. The animation is fine but I want them to make season six so please don’t be a hater because I want to see more of the story. Shadowpeach moments
Think next season is MK going to the dark side for most of the season and the others having to save him? Mainly because all have been used against him, but MK never really went to the dark side. Could be good character development
I’m not too mad about the unfortunate downgrade in animation style, because there could be a logical explanation for that. I’m more mad that Macaque and Wukong were about to have a reconnection scene and the fricking villain ruined it!
I'd absolutely LOVE it too- same for freenoodles but unfortunately the reason the show is funded so well is because it's really popular in China and well um you know how censorship is 😭
@@nataliawolfie6609 China tends to censor gay couples in media a lot, so if China censored the show it probably won't keep being made because China is its main source of income

Gotta wonder if parts of this are just dub thing or not. At the same time, the Six Eared Macaque wasn't close with Wukong originally. And in fact tried to replace him in the Journey To The West.
4:12 I NEED to know what's going on with Mac's Magic Did he make a Deal like the Snake Guy suggested? He doesn't seem to remember one, maybe it was in a previous Cycle Why did his Magic transform into the Chaos Magic? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS
