I am not confident, but i think this was a falldamage cancel, which i believe relies on uncrouching the frame you land on any slope, which confuses the game into thinking your ramp sliding. I think there is also a lot of luck involved, but in 7500 hours of tf2 ive had this happen like 5 times i can remember. Edit: you can see the crazy horizontal momentum right after the landing, evidence of weird ramp slide behavior. Source code spaghetti.

When you land on any slope-down surface, you gain a very small speed boost when the game tries to convert your vertical momentum to horizontal. Given the large fall, he probably got a lot of speed. I have never seen a slope-down slide that wasnt absurdly steep and intended to slide you off.
