I don't remember what I did in this particular run, but usually I check the prophet requirements when I create my first agent and try to see if the requirements are easy or difficult. If it's something like "Must be from a city, must be form the coast, must have lore 4, must have explored a dungeon" I will usually try to get that. On the other hand if it's something like "Must have might 4+, must have lore 4+, must be form a holy city, must have commanded an army" I will just not even try. And add to that that just getting a prophet doesn't usually get you that much ahead. You need to be working to gain control of that religion with other means as well. So as in with most decision with most strategy games, it depends on quite a lot of things whether or not I'll try to get a prophet or not.
