The reason why you were fired, you need to understand, is because as a public figure with such a cult like following, you went live on air and made insensitive remarks about a victim of violence. You had a voice, young people looked up to you, and you should have known better. Even now you are making excuses saying people were sensitive coz it was covid season and they were going through alot, you still see nothing wrong with what you said. I always say put yourself in the shoes of the victims. How would you feel if one of your daughters; Nia or Milan was thrown off a balcony and someone made the remarks that you did? You think your children are safer because you're a hot shot? Or because you taught them better or they have privileges or are not rachets or whatever?? they ain't. They can only be safe if each one of us, including you, takes a stand against any injustices big or small. Any type of violence or injustice against any human being should not be in any way, shape or form tolerated or made light of. If one person is hungry in the world we are all hungry, if one person is unsafe we are all unsafe, if one person is suffering we all suffer. The day humanity gets that through their thick skulls, will be the day we redeem ourselves. So you can be the GOAT of radio like many people here are hailing you as, but if you aint got love and compassion for you fellow human being, you aint it.
The difference between shaffie and most people is he understand your feelings dont mean nothing ahead of facts, asking how he would feel if someone made same comment to her victim daughter still it wouldn't change the fact that about what he said.
@@Scoparis what facts? He made a sweeping comment about Nairobi women, saying they need to play hard to get and are too available. And Nairobi women reminded him there are different calibres of women out here, many who are movers and shakers, and that's why his ass in now jobless. So no, there were no facts stated there. Sorry. If Nairobi women were as inept as what he described, he'd still have a job. And even if they were, it doesnt justify violence!!!!!And just coz you move in circles where people ain't got their shit together you think the whole world is like that. That's on you; elevate, ascend, wake up.
I have watched this interview twice and the only thing this guy seems to have learned is that Depression is real. Other than that he seems to think what he did wasn't a big deal and it's the fault of the fans and the sponsors that he got fired. Shame.
Next time just watch your mouth ,as aman who has daughters why were you making fun of that young woman? The fact you don't even acknowledge what you said on national radio is problematic means you even deserve another cancelling !
Im not here for cancel culture but he should have spoken more about his sentiments promote violence against women apologised and then spoken more about his circumstances. Cause he's making himself out to be a victim yet his the one who spoke badly.
Shaffi still doesn’t understand how careless and detrimental his words are actions were and are to-date. Very sad. He sees self as a victim. Refuses to apologize and take accountability. I wish him well.
Still selfish. He's talking of his tribulations from the event more than the young woman they mocked, the lady who was thrown off the window for refusing to trade sex for a bag of chips.
@@davidkamau6820 You are majoring in minors kijana. We have a crime of attempted manslaughter, but you want "a boy is better than a girl" debate of class 3. I'm busy, go play elsewhere.

Good you were fired, surprised Kenyans finally did it, you were so wrong. I am from Uganda and the once in awhile I did actually see or hear some of your content. It was disgusting. Radio helped carry on the 1994 Rwanda war. Alot of misinformation during the Idi Amin era in Uganda. Be responsible for what you say
If am not wrong I think he is the guy making fun of a rape victim,if u are a public figure with a big following it's gud to educate urself on social issues especially Rape, btw Rape can happen to any Gender male or female it's very sad!
Exactly like any idiot would know better than making fun of situations like that. For him to accept interviews is a way of trying to warm up to Kenyans coz we don't forget.
I think he is a great example of success getting into your head,,you have to always be level headed and judging from this interview,,he is still not there
ABSOLUTELY! Life's is composed of 2 days: days for you and days against you. During your days, be humble...when it's not, be patient...Shaffie and his ilk were 'spoilt brats'. This country is merciless...those who have money are so kawaida and play chini ya maji whereas the wannabes....Maan!!! It's when you fall that you realize you are/were a NOBODY! I hope this makes him...step one, avoid the limelight...find that other gem inside you....But it is NOT EZ AND WON'T BE, was never meant to be! If Virgil Abloh could die during such an amazing run in career....who are we?
I know. And it's him coming through with the victim mentality. For sure yes depression is real but what about being accountable for your words and your actions. No one is above reproach it wasn't hating.
You, sir, sat there and made a mockery of rape on live radio!! It's not rocket science or up to your employer to educate you on such matters. Nobody should have to read the room before making a rape joke. It just shouldn't happen. Period!
It was a big mistake. They made terrible comments and could not shed the ego to apologize And still you can tell he has no remorse for what he said. He has not learnt the lesson…he was CANCELLED because of his lack of remorse. Public influential platforms need you to be quite cautious and sensitive to some topics then to come here and say he does not regret 😳 wow he still needs to learn
he was too proud, this guy was one of the highest paid. It never occurred to him he could lose his job,he is a prime example that everything can come to an end. Treat people with respect.Pride comes before a fall, he learnt his lesson but his ego is afraid to admit he was wrong.

Shaffie what you are talking about is called: unconscious bias, I agree seminars are a good way to start. As a radio presenter, you are very influential and what you say on radio easily translates to popular culture no wonder the strong reactions y’all got.
Thanks Shaffie, for using this platform to help people living with mental illness to understand that ups and downs are part of life. And that despite how bleak things seem, you can overcome obstacles and rise up.
But Kamene Goro said the exact same things advising women on ensuring they have cash on them any time they go out meeting men. Is it because she's a woman?

How about just saying ' am sorry for the insensitive remarks i made that hurt the victim and seemed to justify and put thenbalme on her for what befell her. I retract those sentiments and will work to change my attitudes towards gbv.' .... smh. SHAFFIE you are not the victim in this story.Apologize and move on.
I still remember Shaffie and how he used to prank people on the "Kiss 100 got your call " segment maze Shaffie ur a true legend, radio ilikua imekukubali maze
It was a justified firing for making fun of a victim of GBV. He's a misogynist and it's sad that there are people who actually agree with him. How much would it have cost to just advise young men to move on after being turned down instead of resorting to violence? Is it really that difficult to treat women as complex human beings with their own agency? Did Shaffie apologize to the victim and her family. This is just about me me me me... I'm sure if this apology tour doesn't work he'll go full right wing crazy and reveal his true colours.

Funny how people think cancel culture can revolutionize anything in the society or their feelings are the next big thing in the world. Shafie said what he said because it was facts and it was also applicable to his daughter or any other woman, he was trying to tell women criminals are there, will still exist in the future so people should try to stay safe but feminism got women fucked up thinking shafie was waging a gender war.
Why can't these " firees '" from these radio stations and tv stations not get together and start their own media house. They would be interesting. I hate disrespect metted out on an employee because of arrogance on the part of employers. Sometimes and many a times success arises from such actions. An example in my field is one US company that used to produce inverters called Trace Engineering, the engineering department walked out and formed their own right behind their former company. They called it outback. Literally meaning out at the back of the other street in Arlington. Wake up media tools. Without you, those major media houses will not exist. You are the tools. If you got no courage, get in touch with me.
Tough experience, Shaffie. But you've got what it takes to build your independent content/following today, more than ever before! And in less than 3 years, you should meet and possible exceed your 700k a month pay...all on your own terms!
He's a legend, what I miss is his voice on radio...my fav since a was 10 yrs.... recalling how I used to get back home from school n listen to kiss drive only to listen to his voice
Shaffie still doesn't see his mistake. He takes zero accountability for his actions. He is constantly dismissing peoples feelings and minimising it to a time of sensitivity. People weren't sensitive. Women's lives are constantly at risk daily, thanks to patriarchy. That's our reality, we live it from the day we're born to the day we die. You were a man in a place of power and influence with a platform who chose to perpetrate and co-sign violence against women. I'd expect that you'd take the time to reflect and educate yourself to be better a person but nah. I was hoping you'd apologise at least. Maybe my expectations are too high. Maybe you're still learning but I'm a little disappointed that two years later, you're still blaming your former employer for your lack of awareness.
Cancel culture gotta go, why can't we express ourselves in truth? Shaffie I wish you the best. Do a Megyn Kelly, Andrew kibe and start your own podcast we'll support you.
Express the truth? That guy in his 40s making fun of a young woman who nearly died is expressing the truth? Whatever "truth" he had to say, he could have done it in an empathic way, not laughing like a hyena with his cronies sniggering in the background..There's no way you can expect a major media house to expect such crap on their airwaves and you are right, let him spew his nonsense on his own platform.
@@hk254lyt8 nothing says insecure more than someone who results to insults. There was one victim in that incident, the woman, why should he advice women when the man was clearly at fault?
@@hk254lyt8 he was victim shaming. A man had no business dating if he expects more from a woman after using his money. Same as women, they should not date expecting a man to just spend his money. Good thing life is teaching you more than you'd like to admit. Now next time as you speak you'll be better informed about real life situations. At the time the 700k had blindfolded you. You were living in a bubble and thought everyone who doesn't live in that bubble was lacking of sense
