I own one japanese used import car, toyota noah 2015 and its feels like brand new car fresh from dealer remembering this car almost 10 years now and the meter about 56,884 km on going. When i bought it last june, No dent, no engine issue, no suspension problem, transmission very very excelent no issue, and running smooth like fresh brand new car from dealer. Japanese inspection very very thight and carefully.
Hi! This is very useful. I want to ask if it's ok to bring the car for inspection even without initial check by a certified mechanic? I mean the car may have a chance to pass the test.
Hi, I have a modified R32 GTR which I'm going to be IMPORTING into Tokyo end of this year(I am moving to Tokyo in March). How tough are they on modified cars??? I have alot of modifications, but all certified for my country I live in currently.
Thank you. Subscribed. We want more informative videos like these. I'm planning to do the shaken for my Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. It's the first time and not sure how much will it cost. I speaks basic Japanese and hoping to manage it. Do I need to fill up the documents in Japanese (Specially Kanji) ?
Thanks for this great video, can i ask what is the name of this place? I live in ichinomiya and i will find the nearest place if there is thanks for youre reply god bless
The inspection station shown in this video is the Mikawa branch. There is also an Ichinomiya branch, so I think you should make a reservation there. Inspection station list www.keikenkyo.or.jp/about/about_000074.html
If you fail the inspection, You can take inspection two more times for free on the day. After failing inspection, you will get the document that describe what is wrong. And you can bring it to "てすたーじょう"(01:50) for adjustment or repair. Then you can take inspection process again. If you have re-inspection within 15 days, you will just pay 1,300 yen.
Thank you for great tutorial video! I am about to take my user shaken next week for the first time. I was under the impression that there is a form/checklist to attest that certain parts of the cars are in good condition to bring to the Shaken inspection. Is this not true?
Yes it`s with all the documents from the video above... I`m doing mine in about 2 weeks and I get the papers early and have my wife write the information in Japanese before I go. The check sheet is a guidance, you just check all the boxes. But the place is only about 15 minutes from my home.
I`ve done it several times..the hard part is it`s every 2 years and I forget how to do the inside tests...the staff are usually very very helpful though...
@@HOWTOLIVEINJAPAN Noooooooo way! Are you kidding me? What kind of car did you get the shaken on? Im getting a 2001 bmw 320 shakened, and im told the jibaiseki is 50k yen.
Depends on how much you understand Japanese If you can understand basic conversation, I think you can do it with the help of staff. The staff will kindly help you at the inspection site.
If you go by yourself, you will need the minimum amount of money. However, if you ask a professional car shop for Shaken, the shop will check the condition of the car properly, so it is safer. Each has advantages and disadvantages.
