I have had them for about 10 years

I have been doing a lot of testing with old bearings and how they work after different treatments. I have found that soaking the bearing and taking it out and turning it at a fast rpm then soaking in cleaning solvent and spinning then spraying them out with a good CLP and spinning out the CLP and then testing to see how good or bad the bearing is. I always test them dry as they will naturally slow down a lot with any oil. If they are still good I will soak them in a good oil and then give them a slow spin and place them back in service or store wet in a small plastic bag. Even new bearing, full stainless or hybrid bearings gets tested. I have had many new bearings that didn't make the cut due to poor Q/C. Great video as always and I know you can't do my procedure in the type of business that you have as time would just dictate going to a new tested bearing. Brian

Dennis. This is one I’m not familiar with. I guess I just use my Shakespeare Sea Wonder reels if I use a Shakespeare for surf fishing. Of course I don’t care for the anti-reverse. It is nice that it has two bearings. Interesting video. I’m not sure I’d want this reel but I’ll bet it could do a decent job if taken care of properly. - Chris

3:52 is where im at rn immediately am guessing the ball bearing on the main gear corroded and froze. but didn't freeze to the main gear, and with no nut tension holding it down the ball bearing race spins through the main gear and the inner race where it usualy does not. just a guess tho *edit or pinion as you called it i had them mixed around

And when you store your reels remember to back off the drag pressure it will save your drag washers !
