So so so damn ironic that Indians were laughing when people said they don't know who is Justin Bieber Or DJ Snake But didn't even dare to ask about this Great WonderWoman From India. Proud to be An Indian🇮🇳
I only want 0.1% of her brain in maths exam Edited : I just wrote this for fun but idk why there is debate going on in my comments 😂 . By the way thank you for this much likes ❤️ . Although I didn’t wrote this for likes . 😅
our country doesn’t recognise geniuses. when this lady died, no news channel covered it. i read of her death in a little column of the newspaper the next day. i spoke about her to my friends, and to my surprise, only a few knew about her. it is not just the government that’s indifferent, we too are ignorant. how many of us knew about Kailash Satyarthi ji before he received the nobel? there’s no dearth of talent, its time we recognise the true geniuses rather than media hyped people masquerading as ‘talent’
She is not a mathematician , google the difference between Mathematician and Human Computer. No Offence to her talent, she made no contribution to mathematics. She was talented in Calculations
Because she is an entertainer who can calculate fast. That's all. She did not have any major contributions to maths. U shud learn about the genius of ramanujan....
That's because she didn't have proper schooling and it's totally self emergent derived factor she had. Yet if she would have been trained in teaching methodology, she might have devised her method of understanding to help others. We do need to know is the brain we have is simply marvelous and powerful which we need to use it than to suppress our development by bad thoughts.
@@prathapkumar3951 no one can learn it. She can't teach it. She was born with hypercalculia. One of the spectacular gifts of genetic lottery, but useless nevertheless , other than for our amusement. M not telling she doesn't deserve the accolades, but juz that she deserves those accolades coz she is an gifted entertainer. She is nowhere close to be a mathematician.
Exactly.. When i was kid.. I might read about her in GK n now when i see this vid. She is phenomenal! There should be a chapter Of her biography known by kids too she is such a inspiration.. She can inspire more students to learn maths which they think as an impossible subject
She won’t ! Why will she when we have one family leading this country for decades . When money buy awards . If giving award gets a vote bank she would have got .. and most people only know now shakuntala Devi because of vidya Balan. And if she was from any other country they would have encouraged her to train younger generations. We sent her to tours to earn living for herself...
Reservation is going to be the Waterloo for India sooner than later. After the Government of India has introduced 10% reservation for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), it is already 60% now in Central Government. With 10% quota for poor, reservation in Maharashtra has gone up to 78%. Yet the demand for reservation is not yet satisfied. There is every possibility of adding 10-15% reservation for women as well. Hence, very soon, we may see reservation crossing 90% in India unless Supreme Court intervenes. Some political parties are already promising reservation in proportion to castes and also in private sectors. All these can be a reality because no political party has guts to oppose reservation in India. I am sure that in just couple of decades, merit would hardly matter in India and only caste and gender would become material for getting admission in government or private institutions and in getting jobs. All meritorious people would migrate to foreign country leaving the reserved people to lead India to its glory. That will bring doom to India as it would collapse under its own weight.
@yeet tm she was a real gem she was born really unique and the question you are saying how would she help humanity is that by her mathmatical calculation she can solve all the probelmes in bio and make medicines which most of the scuentist are unable to she can calculate the mass of universe
Bro dont mix the concept. She was given same priority as Ramanujan....At that time there were no other means of her popularity..... Don't mix ur concepts bro....
Yes , Just mug up and vomit. That is what is wrong in India. We trains our kids in coaching centres to pass the entrance exams and get into engineering. Kids are taught to pass exams and learn, not acquire knowledge. That is why we are lagging in research and IP ( Intellectrual Property).
Plz don't reduce mathematics just to some arithmetical calculations She was just an expert in using calculation tricks quickly- A mental calculator and there are many like her...Nothing thaaat extraordinary(no offence intended to her)

From the time of Arnab Goswami people think that if they dont know about something all India doesn't know. I was quite aware of Shakuntala Devi and her genius at a very young age since I watched the news. What do you want the Government to do. Improving general knowledge is your own domain. Dont blame Government for your ignorance. Anyone who has cleared Competitive exam knows quite well who she is
Omg why mi knowing her now. she should be known much much before 😭why there is much more people not knowing her yet . She was gem of the country ,not just extra but an ultraordinary women. don't know what to say . can't exhibit the fact dat she is not mentioned in any of our elementary gk books.literally feeling ashamed of being indian nd glorifying other countries ,when your country got so much more than any other, undoubtedly their is much more hidden talent in our country need to be raised nd praised .

because that is the point of making a biographical movie. Shakuntala Devi's talent is exceptional but u don't expect people to pay money or spend time just to watch her doing mathematics sums. People want to watch a movie not a maths seminar. The main core revolves around how her talent shaped her life and vice versa
@@kartikaysuri1707 I agree with Naveed. The film became ordinary bcoz it did not focus enough on Shakuntala Devi's maths genius. How she honed her natural talent, her inner struggles. Instead, the film became one abt a girl wanting an ordinary mom and resenting her amazing mom. Thankfully, all the actors were very good.
Film is made for money earning, so that most herd watches it for drama, and more the herd more the money. I would prefer documentary made with Shakuntala devi and her talent and work in spotlight.
1:45 it was a trick she used Onyl Intelligent people would have noticed that she could do 2 things together Firstly To Buy Herself Some More Time She Asked Them The Right To Left Or Left To Right With this she got a time of almost 20-25 seconds She really Is Very Intelligent Hats Off

Yes very well said to put this type of stories in textbook instead of putting old dead grandfather's grandfather stories in history of India which is boring. The education waste government should at least add some Egyptian history which is of great interest and about Queen Elizabeth.....
I am from Bangalore but we don't know she is born in Bangalore too. And we never knew this legend was living one among us. Govt back then was such a waste.

It's so sad to see millennials know nothing about the genius called Shakuntala Devi who was a global phenomenon just because she was from the pre social media era. One has to be thankful to a mediocre movie (though very well enacted) to know about a genius who conquered the world with not figure but figures. Also a scorpio woman. Fiercely independent.
@@ayeshacullen I hope you are right, but facts don't point to it. Young people mostly had no idea about Shakuntala Devi before Vidya Balan's film. It's a pity, bcoz she is unique. Her prowess in maths still leaves one baffled. No neurologist could explain how her mind worked. India Today had carried an incisive feature on her in the late 80s.
