It's just an example of if you take any bullshit devs throw at you they will never change only get worse and worse over time. They tested microtransactions with just tiny cosmetics at the start now look at the pathetic state rs3 is in. That's because they know the very few people who still play rs3 will happily continue buying this crap like the good little sheep they are. A friend is the same what is he doing? Gonna make a video crying about mtx in rs3 but then he is buying all of it still. When you are whipped you are whipped lol. The second they tried to do this in osrs players would just say that's cute if you try we are all quitting. That's why you don't let devs of any game put shady shit like mtx all over the game
They literally are though, they could do all the plugins themselves but it'd take years. Resources are not infinite, and dev hours are used on more important things like actual new content. Allowing players access to the API is more than most other companies would ever do for their players, and all some people do is complain.
Honestly, Runemetrics feels like something that'd be a $3 permanent unlock per account. If that. 6 USD per Month is just ridiculous. I've seen mobile games with better value packages. It basically does less than Runelite and TempleOSRS. One Month ago I gave RS3 a try, I played for about 100 hours. Even though interesting, I ended up quitting since the lack of QoL was frustrating. It honestly felt like a worse version of OSRS with fancy graphics. (Note: I did not end up doing any end game bosses, I know they're engaging and all. I just couldn't continue on playing long enough to get there)
The people saying they don't mind it in that reddit thread should actually be studied "Lol it's good features lol" because they simply can't fathom the fact that it could and should be free
Some people have more money than sense, and at the end of the day that -$7 doesn't actually impact their life at all so it's pretty easy for them to dismiss it. I agree that this should be free but I just feel like this is why they keep getting away with it. Because people will keep paying for it.
Some features/plugins/QoL would definitely be nice for sure. That said tho, I think runelite has become wayyy too much as well. so many osrs players have their screens cluttered with plugins
@@TheDarkermanzz I believe that RuneLite plugins are the reason why osrs is far more approachable than RS3 and why it gets more players. Even without the afk-ness of rs3 osrs is often more continent to play with ease
@@Vek2 Runelite may help but it's not the main reason osrs is more approachable imho. First off people have nostalgia for the old version, most people quit during the eoc days so there's no nostalgia there. Second rs3's combat system is not beginner friendly at all when compared to osrs Third is that rs3 is just very convoluted, every place is packed with npc's from update's over the years.
They also need to ban third party clients because anyone who says Runelite should exist while also complaining about bots has lost their right to complain. It's either none of it is allowed, or all of it is allowed. Many people are upset with them for trying to shove Runelite out but it seriously is their best bet for the health of the game hands down. So long as there is a highly limited plugin creation system in place that is official similar to World of Warcraft's plugin system.
@@OskarasNauseda Always everyone's response. Is that stopping anyone from using disallowed plugins at all? Not in the slightest. Jagex can't even enforce it because there is no way to detect which plugins are banned or not.
If more content creators showed their disgust with some of the systems in RS3, maybe RS3 will actually recieve some love rather than simply milking it for more money.
Every time I see footage lf RS3 it's like seeing that friend that moved away and got jnto drugs. They look worse than you remember every time you see them, to the point they're almost unrecognizable, and you can't help but wish you could go back in time to prevent them from fuckin up their life so bad.
Every time I see footage of OSRS it feels like a private server adding whacky shit like fighting zammy at barrows. I get that it's not 2007 scape... And a game will die without new content. But there's nothing that even resembles 2007 RuneScape anymore. Also I did play a private server once that put zammy in the barrows area. It was dope as shit.
The drop log on the web page shows a drop breakdown per monster and you can filter for timeframes which I used for a while when grinding combat on rs3, it's pretty nice. But yeah it's still fucked up that they charge for this.
Yeah its one of those things that made me sad for the last few years on rs3. If they were going to charge for this, it should be like a dollar a month ontop of your membership sub or something. But it should really be free considering what you get.
More youtubers should call out Jagex's bs, all RS3 youtubers have been compliant to the shit treatment RS3 receives by staying silent, ty for making this video.
Premier membership, Buy bank space on updates, Drop log / xp rates; Shouldn’t those be included? (Osrs, Minecraft, Roblox, Fortnite all have free plugins)
I swear it was $4 when it came out, and if you were premier it was $2. Still dumb they even charge for it because it’s literally already in the code, they’re just making it visible
I just wished they had an adventurers log for both games, used to make dull activities so much more interesting, stalking your friends AL's as well as those around you
The worst part of this all is: RS3 is actually fun to play... Especially the Combat Beta is making combat much nicer (against pre combat beta). Current RS3 isn't made to have misses anymore since it's such high APM compared to OSRS. They making it so you will never miss anymore. It's such a good idea for RS3 to step away from OSRS, and its still so much fun. I just wish they would add more effort in these things.
Still have no idea why dovy's channel has died, I guess he just does his own thing and isnt trying to play the system. But gotta give the credit for him sticking to being true. Calls out BS and does what he wants, sticking true to himself.
Honestly, I don’t understand the point of this video. Just checked my statement to be sure and I pay $3.99 for rune metrics. No where close to the close to $12 a month for membership.
Isn't this runemetrics pro included with the RS3 premium club/premier club yearly bundle? Regardless... the over-reliance with the plugins and extra overlays in OSRS is a huge turn off for me.
4:22 If you want to find out let it expire now in a few days and before renewing it check which features you now have and which ones are missing. Maybe make a pinned comment about it or another quick video showing the differences.
Didnt even know there was a runelite for runescape 3. Never played it.. But! Now I dont have to buy runelite bot plugins anymore, I can just make my own :O
I get you but people are obviously still paying for it so why would they change anything? Not trying to defend them don't even play rs3 but who would say no to free money?
in the last year they been actively and aggressively trying to monetize even more the game. like game event who benefit alot to people with multiple alt account (halloween and christmas event for example. like the little trick of putting the purple christmas present and up needing to be member to open them and the black party hat... ) the battle pass they tried to add, thel ittle extra to buy with bond like 2x christmas paper and bank space+ preset who should be just free with new content.... there is a reason why the bond price is so high right now they want the maximum $$$ they can get
If you want all of the bankspace available as a brand new account in RS3 it will cost you $500 aud if done through bonds with no sales. In OSRS it's just ingame currency you can earn for free. Jagex is the epitome of greedy, being slaves to their investors has ruined it all.
@@Fridge_Fiend RS3 requires either bonds or runecoins (can be bought with bonds). GP alone cannot buy any bankspace, nothing I said was inaccurate you just couldn't read it correctly.
Them charging u for an insane amount for just a small fraction of what runelite offers for free is one thing. The exp/drop track of runemetric being much more low quality and shittier version of what runelite has is a whole another thing. Like wtf, it's a night and day comparison which game's players are eating shit while their money is being taken for it.
Brother...You simply can not make a video bashing a service & people that pay for it when you use it yourself??🤨 Content creator or not. Got a bond gifted & used that is still putting cash in there pockets? Just my opinion tho.
I used (and still use) the historical data extensively throughout the course of getting 5.8b exp. On top of that, I can use it to see what xp I am getting post 200m. Finally, it is 50% off if you have premier, which anyone who plays daily would (should) have anyways. I won't argue the fact it should be a free feature, I am just here to advocate how useful/cool it can be.
"same as the price of membership" oh boy, I think you should see the cost of one month of members lol (I know premier is about $7, but many people still don't pay for an entire year)
I gave RS3 a go when Necromancy came out, and I just couldn't get over how clunky everything was, even on the default Jagex client for OSRS there have been so many quality of life updates made to the game that it feels like a modern title, RS3 feels like i'm literally fighting against the UI to accomplish anything, it was honestly a horrible experience, I'd have loved to go and see all the updates since EoC came out Menaphos looks really interesting, but it's just so hard to actually play the game I couldn't.
Honest take, RS3 really opens up when you finish grinding skills. What i mean by this is until you hit 90+ in your combats and have certain unlocks like curses, overloads etc you really are just grinding. Once you reach that and unlock late game content the game starts to shine. Osrs is a better experience before that point but rs3 is more in depth after that. Its weird but i have a love for both games.
The one thing osrs players can thank rs3 for... Being jagex little microtransaction sheep they just put every disgusting microtransaction that should be simple in game features in rs3 so osrs gets it for free how it should be lol
@@UnworthyChicken Yes they would lmao. The OSRS community is so deluded that they don't even think bonds count as MTX. They pretend they care but they accept whatever garbage jagex sends their way
