As soon as I saw the title to this video, I knew we could be friends! :) The Nice Guys was one of the best films of 2016 that NO ONE saw! And The Long Kiss Goodnight is one of the finest action films (from writing to characters to action scenes) that we will ever be fortunate enough to experience as mortals! Well done! Oh, and don't forget - ol' Satan Claus is out there, so be prepared. That's my motto. ;)

In a way “The Last Boy Scout” is technically a Christmas movie too. Because in a way it’s almost like a retelling of “It’s a Wonderful Life” cause Bruce Willis’ character, Joe Hallenbeck shares similarities to George Bailey. Plus his daughter draws pictures of “Satan Claus” occasionally.

@@fox-jake8784 naaah, DIE HARD and long kiss goodnight is more of Christmas movies than last boy scout, because it had Christmas elements from the beginning to the end, with holiday music and they saying that word Christmas all through the movie, not just a 3 second satan clause picture scene

Great Topic! I really enjoy your video essays. Looking forward to more. I'm wondering though... is there a reason you avoided the word juxtaposition? You certainly addressed its uses in composition and furthering the dramatization of the genre and nuances like loneliness. I strongly feel that juxtaposition is the entire basis of choosing Christmas as a theme.
