@@999titu zaheer was bowling 143-147 consistently during wc 2003 against pak he bowled 146 ... He bowled 146.9 in the final against aus too....and 145 against England and 147 against holland ... so was nehra 140+ mostly.... in one match he clocked 149. All other bowlers were fired up....it was a very pacey world cup...I was a 7 yr old kid but I remember watching their bowling speeds during that world cup. I was and still obsessed with super fast bowling.
Naturally took the ball away from the lefty and into the right hander. Add lightening pace to that this guy was one of the best fast bowlers in his era, unfortunately plagued by injuries
@@ashutoshawasthi8558 but india cant produce genuine fast bowlers who can dominate with their speed.. by the way i am a huge fan of indian batting but when it comes to serious pace India hasnt
@@manojcm7567 watch waqar's videos from 1989 to 1993. You will see he was as fast as shoaib, perhaps even faster and he was swinging like crazy. No wonder he averaged 18 till 94. That version of waqar is the goat in my opinion.
He is doing six balls in each over in six different ways with tremendous speed🔥. Keeping the balance of the swing with speed in general is giving an extraordinary performance❤. Hats off Mr. Bond👍👊👊.
Making Gayle play defensively is very difficult and only legends could do that. Shane Bond was one of those legends. I wish I could live in that era once more and see him bowl again.
This world cup had the three quickest bowlers on display, which is something that is unique to only this world cup. Shane bond, Brett Lee and Shoaib Akhtar
@@liounique1177 yes that's true but the three guys I mentioned above were consistently bowling 155 kph. The bowlers you mentioned, hardly anyone bowled 155kph in the World Cup, maybe 10-15 deliveries in total above 150kph and 5kph does make a huge difference.
Bond used to bowl 145 to 150 kmph(avg speed) without really pushing his limits where as shoaib/lee used to push their limits to get to 150 to 155 kmph(avg speed) .. Bond had injury issues and he had a shorter carrier .. else he would have been bigger than shoaib/lee on the Tv media/socail media/print media. In cricket circle(ppl who understand cricket fundamentals) .. ppl do rate bond higher than shoaib/lee. I personally certainly rate bond higher than shoaib/lee. What an incredible athlete he was. PS: he had more control over the ball as compared to shoaib/lee and other fast bowlers !!!!! Rahul
2:50 "Just 145.9 Kph that but it was the bounce, that was enough to confuse Chris Gayle"... Back when only 150 plus was considered fast and 140 plus was just normal for most bowlers. Nowadays if someone bowls 144 or 145 people go crazy!
@@akroyals2187 its nobody lol. Not even Starc or Cummins. Post 2000, the only bowlers who could actually bowl 150+ consistently was Shane Bond, Lee , Tait & maybe Akhtar to some extent.
Who told you that? Chris Gayle is a slogger; Rohit Sharma has genuine technique. R. Sharma would have probably played Shane Bond better that Gayle. Note: No disrespect to the Universe Boss.
@@maitreytelang2312 lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 watch Rohit Sharma against swing bowlers 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 he is a cookie for left hand seamers especially during most important and knockout matches !!! Ofcourse no disrespect to Rohit Sharma, but this is my personal opinion.
My all time favourite bowler 😥. I knew there was something special about him when I saw him for the first time in late 2000s. I was just a little child. But his dashing good looks, cool hair, handsome figure and unforgettable pace and skill made him my favourite. even at that age I knew he was special. I could always sense greatness even at such a young age 😢
Shane Bond is the most magnificent bowler in the history of cricket. before his shoulder injury he was the most dangerous fast bowler in the world used to bowl every delivery over 150+km/h with swing "unplayable". Chris Gayle was in his peak at that time & he absolutely smashed Akhtar & Lee's fast blowing but he was struggling to Bond
Every bowler in there career get smashed nothing wrong with that - I’ve also seen Shane bond get smashed by Mathew Hayden Ponting Tendulkar Sehwag but that doesn’t make him a bad bowler try not to be a bell end in the future
@@psychm4787 when do you saw Hayden and sehwag smashed bond's blowing ? I saw every match back then. Here Hayden can't even touch his bat to bond's unplayable deliveres. Only Sachin hit him some 4s that i have seen and no one hit him sixes exept devid Warner and that was in when bond about to retire.
Those days the ball used to have hand-stitched seam, like the Dukes ball. That made the seam pronounced and ball swung for a long time and got good deviation from the surface!
Or bhi hai list me.. 2003 World Cup Top 10 Fastest Bowlers list_ Shoaib Akhtar 161.3 Brett Lee 160.7 Shane bond 153.4 Jermaine Lawson 153.2 Aashish Nehra 149.7 Makhya Nntini 149.4 Jason Gillespie 148.3 dilhara Fernando 147.9 Zahir Khan 147.4
You can see the competition in pace bowling during that time when for 146kmph the commentators said just a lil quick. 😂 Mann, Shoaib Akhtar Brett Lee Makhaya Ntini Jermaine Lawson Fidell Edwards Zaheer Khan Dilhara Fernando and SHANE BOND these were the bowling clearly touching 90 miles
Shane bond is probably the most dangerous top order wicket taker fast bowler world has ever seen . He had this habit of knocking out top order world class batsmen very cheaply .
