I know it’s probably just a bit, but i hope Shane isn’t too serious ab feeling bad all the time. This podcast definitely feels more authentic than a lot of other ones
Theo, can you get an active or retired surgeon as a guest interview? They probably won’t have time for a long one. I can’t imagine living that lifestyle
@@ShanyeSoT they should do a Broadway show with dancers and music and songs about the big bad Lorne Michaels and the shoe shine boy Shane Gillis and his rise and fall in the city where dreams are made and crushed
SNL is so unfunny!!! Getting fired was a blessing! Look at the drug problems behind the scenes and you know the work environment is absolutely bonkers!
Yeah! Change the rules especially in that damn game Chutes and Ladders I can totally climb up a chute if I’m wearing rubber soles no way I’d fall all the way down.
Rogan said, "You'll get better [at comedy]..." to Theo. One of the most ironic and insulting things Rogan has ever said. Much worse than his N-word compilation.
I would go through the excitement of getting hired at SNL and the sadness of losing it immediately just for an hour conversation on the phone with Norm
@@Froggobyebye oh I’m aware, I wish I could have met him or seen a show before he passed. Since I learned of him dying though I’ve been doing my best to try and get tickets to a Joey Diaz show because as much as I expect that tank of a man to outlive us all, I don’t want to miss my opportunity again
@@youcantshimshamthezimmzamm5712 That's why I'm so glad I went and saw George Carlin before he passed. He was the absolute GOAT and I had to see him at least once. Tickets were kind of expensive for me at the time being a broke college student, but I knew I had to go for it while I could.
It's fake to make headlines. It's a jewish strategy. You know how shady, underhanded, and generally dishonest they are. They killed Jesus. God damn them!
I notice with comedians and cancel culture, at least in regards to their shows, doesn’t make much of a difference and could actually benefit them. The people who “cancel” a comedian for something he said aren’t the people who were going to go see their show in the first place
Theos cancel proof over anything racist cuz he’s transparent about his thoughts, and his actions include a lot of working with all races, and his race jokes are funny without any bullying vibe
I’d say he would get cancelled swiftly if he was serving up an uncompromising version of his comedy on some mainstream left wing show. Intent, character, context etc doesn’t come into the equation when the mob comes for you.
Its crazy, they had a left wing guy making right wingers laugh. I think he was bridging a gap, reminding ppl that we are ppl not right or left. And they were like nope, cant have this guy making both sides happy at the same time. I am a central to right winger, and I literally thought I pulled a muscle last night laughing at him. And he was burning the right, regardless he is hilarious and they messed up getting rid of him.
Who really wants to be on SNL anymore? It’s not comedy, it’s a political forum. It’s extremely hard to smile during that show anymore. Hard to believe they cannot put out funny skits with all the material in the world.
RIP Kyle Mooney. SNL had an absolute gem and they just suffocated him. Watching his old youtube stuff and seeing all the wasted potential makes me wanna shit my pants in anger
Shane Gillis' story is a real lesson on loss. You could look at his situation and go "damn, you lost the job on SNL", but really he couldve entered one of 2 worlds; SNL mainstream bullshit or podcasting with joe rogan and theo and other legends! But when it all happened to Shane he probably thought it was the worst thing and everything would be over, whereas in my opinion he's made it out better than he would have if he had got the job! "This too shall pass"
I hear people say this a lot but Shane is a real talent no matter what he does. I think if he would of got SNL a lot more people would have seen how talented he was. He could of been the next Farrell or Sandler.
Can we please try to cancel Tom.Segura and Bert Kreischer? I feel like if we all together work as a team, we can make those guys to just quit comedy and podcasting, and the world would be a better place
Shane, CK, and Chappelle should do some funny project owning your cancelled status but also like asking how long is this supposed to go on? What do those who are canceling people even want? Do they expect people just to never work again, Do they want you dead?
No one got cancelled. Shane lost a job, CK took some time off and Chappelle doesn't and has never given a fuck. They're alle huge and amongst the most popular comedians.
This is good for the soul 😂🙏🏼😂 Shane, your vulnerability and authenticity are refreshing. You're like.. the Brene Brown of male comedians. You know who you are.
Goddamn the funniest part of this whole thing is the Riley moment at the end. 🤣🤣🤣. “Do you feel some type of way?” “Yeah, sometimes.” Why do I feel like if you tried to toss a ball to Riley he would just let it him in the ribcage, fall to the ground & roll away never having turned his head.
I liked Shane’s stand up. But watching this I’m kinda disappointed. I can’t tell if he feels bad or nots I’m gonna give him the benefit of the doubt he did and keep watching him. Let’s hope he doesn’t become a weird right win racist nut job in the future
The social climate was super on edge at the time, so I get why SNL made the decision as a buisness. But I think letting Shane on there would have given them grit that the show hadn’t had in a really long time.
Loved how when he was getting canceled all those shitty comedians came out and “denounced” him, yet not a single GOOD comedian said anything…wonder why??
Ask Harvard about Asian hate. They openly discriminate against Asians in their admissions process but you get canceled for a stupid comment. Not justifying your comment, Asian chicks are hot. But still, why is it okay for Harvard to discriminate? I wouldnt. I'd let in lots of hot Asian chicks. Totally reverses that.
Even after seeing the clip right after the article came out, it was clear that Shane was not trying to be racist, and he used the slur in a parodying way. His friend initiated that conversation and said a bunch of straight up hateful stuff that weren’t even jokes, and I felt like Shane should’ve distanced himself from that guy right away or over time. Apparently they still hang out, but the proof is in the pudding that Shane has become successful by being funny and genuinely a nice person while this other talentless prick has achieved nothing even while trying to ride off of Shane’s coattails
Shows to go ya that talent and grit can supercede most adversity. I mean this in the nicest way but who remembers this controversy now? I had completely forgotten until RU-vid brought it up again. Thanks, RU-vid
If it was the week of Epstein, at whichever stage it was, he could’ve been used as one of many patsy… you think Saturday Night Live wouldn’t have known about his podcast before hiring him, or even auditioning him. It’s a weird choice having him on SNL anyway, but even weirder is that it was publicly released in the press regarding his comments before he was even on SNL or known, no one would’ve been bothered enough to do a hit piece on an unknown just starting out. it’s all manufactured and SNL was in on it.
It’s so funny to say I don’t want to put the private part out there, we all know it norm and Shane put the truth out there, then not just justifiably but to me more importantly morally was the foundation of their character career personally and professionally, as I like to say do the right thing at all times at all cost, fairly simple standers but still people as great as shameless strong confident and resilient as Shane still can’t blame people for enforcing rules so clearly and obviously bad and wrong for people of true freedom, is like a nazi holocaust guard, and as a Jew, I don’t say that lightly, I understand it’s not quite the exact same and unfortunately there is some grey area to acting humane, but for the most of us humans on earth with IQs from at least 1 to Marilynn Van Savant’s 228 we all fucking know and even though not perfect Donald Trump has done the best, and it’s not even close lol, at doing the right thing at all time at all cost, easy for me to say as every time I’ve had to answer that question there isn’t much collateral damage I know that but it also doesn’t excuse any nazi guard or any liberal who still supports the Democratic Party,, there is no liberal any where close to any significant power in that anti American terrorist communist party, it’s beyond pathetic for anyone not to know that fact, let alone remain loyal to a party which purposefully acts against your own best interests
I'm with him, but the rules on 2018 weren't different than when he got canceled. That works when you reflect back a decade or two but not a couple years ago
Lucky there were no video cameras, podcasts etc in the 80's, everyone was telling "what do you call a black/asian/gay..." jokes. Every Gen X would be cancelled. Imagine even worse as you go back generations.
