@@roxanne1987r There's no way to know that. More accurately I think he has more motivation to prove himself. Many of the all-time greats have something that drives them. For Jordan it was his brother's passing. For Jerry Rice it was his wife's battle with cancer. The thing that separates one player from all of the other elite talents is something that drives them to work harder. Jordan arguably wasn't the most talented player... He just has that extra drive.

I agree. I am a Devils fan and with there being a log jam at Center Wright would have been pushed down the lineup. There is no way he would outplay either Nico Hishier or Jack Hughes for the 1st or 2nd line and I don't see him transitioning to a winger. NJ seems really happy with Nemec as he has looked impressive in camp and may push to make the NHL roster this Fall. In Seattle Wright will have much more opportunity for 1st or 2nd line minutes and that is what a prospect needs in order to succeed.

With Bjorkstrand, Burakovsky, Beniers, and possibly Wright taking away time from Schwartz, Gourde, Eberle, Donskoi, and Wennberg.. the ladder players will more than likely be able to make more of an impact when they are on the ice, not always against the opposing 1st/2nd line 15-17mins a game. The D got better, but no true top 2 Dman. They at least have plenty of depth there though. They could make the playoffs but it'll be close(i doubt they will), so hope they rather just focus on scoring a lot and getting the young players points and confidence. Maybe he would rob off that negative side of his personality after the let down.. but its no big deal a lot bigger jerks were and are in the NHL and they have great carrers. I think Seattle is a lot better situation for anybody that wants to start his NHL carrier. Slaf would be on a a lot bigger stress and spotlight. He thought the is doing to the devils and Nemec to Seatle... but Montreal loved Slaf more and here we are. Shane would be a very nice player and we all hope that Slaf would be allso. Habs messed up but so did 2 other teams that passed on him Seattle got themselves a nice player he might not be a Crosby or McKinnon but he will be a solid second line center with perhaps upside to be on the PP's as well and if any injuries he can move up to the top line.He seems to have good enough strength reads the game well all i can say he is a complete player good at everything but not great he does seem to have a good fast stick so maybe his shot is better than i give him credit it is definitely good enough. Projection??Well his first full Rookie season if he makes the team will be around 40-45 points. His second full season should be around 65 points and might keep his minus down to a minimum being on a bad expansion team.

By the way this is only dev camp, it doesn't mean anything, wait till the end of real camp, that's where players make it or break, you might get a better idea on both players by then.

as long as he dosnt talk or show any sort of personality he should be fine in seattle.. its such a weak team he will make it. i could see him bouncing around the league with his stupendous attitude

Definitely, he's already had a better practice than Slakofsky who was bumbling all over the place in Montreal

Wright should’ve gone second atleast if not first. Montreal is going to regret this and this is coming from a Canucks fan.

As die hard Montreal fan, I hope he never makes to the NHL, worse career than Galchenyuk, or maybe breaks his leg in practice.

I liked the defensive coverage he did a few times here. It doesn’t take him long to break down an opponents offensive chance. Might actually be a Selke guy before we know it.
