A different dimension is not the same as another universe. Dr. Strange goes to different dimensions. The only people that have been to different universes were in the loki series.
its in another plane of existence, thru that waterfall into the jump portal and boom, different dimensions is another alternate universe to those of us in the other world
Holy buckets this movie was really, really good. I’m going to have to eventually watch it again to fairly compare it to the other marvel movies, but my first reaction puts it way up there right off the bat. It’s a really darn good one.
@@sirhoops2972 Cap. This movie definitely has the best fighting choreography, and the storyline is beyond amazing. Its more mythical than realistic which is why some people don't like it, but cmon its Marvel
Man, seeing Ta-Lo being displayed so beautifully, makes me so excited to see what Feige does with Iron Fist & K'un-Lun. I'm surprised K'un-Lun didn't get a shout out when Michelle Yeoh's character was explaining their history.
That's what I was thinking, why wasn't places like Wakanda and K'un Lun mentioned in the history of the land of Ta-Lo? It was mentioned that the people of Ta-Lo were there for 4,000 years. I'm pretty sure Wakanda had long since been established and would also be a great point to mention K'un Lun, directly or indirectly.
Fiege isn't doing anything with Iron Fist or Luke Cage. DD and Punisher he's talked about in the past but never LC or IF and with Shang-Chi here IF is redundant.
Yeah, some sort of reference would have been nice. If they do bring Danny Rand/Iron Fist into the MCU, the next Shang-Chi could be the ideal place for the introduction.
Wow I was blown away how good this movie was! Shang Chi in my opinion is the best origin movie to date in the MCU and it was so refreshing to see. I saw it for a second time tonight and it was just as incredible the second time. The fight scenes and cinematography are top tier. The entire cast is spectacular and I can’t wait to watch it again!
@@jessemartinez2606 100% Never have I looked at my watch and reached for my phone that much in my life... boring actor, dull plot, empty calorie movie, asinine final battle... just straight up garbage
People seriously blowing up this movie, as another marvel movie from a now dearly departed actor, to be the best thing since sliced bread. Objectively, it was just okay. Not bad, but definitely not good. Doesn’t make my top three, but does make my top 30.
My theory: There are 10 rings and 10 characters in the eternals What if each eternal had one ring given to them by the celestials when they came to earth but then decided to leave them behind when they all decide to live among humanity. This would allow Shang chi’s father to find them eventually and begin that storyline
May be they should really do this and show shang chi's father was with eternals when they made the decision to hide their respective ring, but as Shang chi's father got greedy he went of a hunt for these. That can turn into a 10-11 episode Disney+ series.
I think that Marvel knew what they were doing when they chose the band’s energy color that Shang-Chi had when he used it. It even matches the Cosmic Bands energy in the comics as well, I’m giving this one a strong 8.5 in probability. But if Marvel writers watch theories like these, they’re more likely to avoid going this route because it would seem ‘too obvious’ for those that watched it.
The most important thing to me right now is that specifically these three characters were trying to figure out the rings origins. Banner, Danvers, and Wong are experts in scientific, cosmic, and magical fields. The three of them together signal to me the silent creation of the Marvel Illuminati, with COMPLETELY different members. It makes sense since half those members either haven’t shown up in the MCU yet or are dead.
@@sociopath2108 In the comics yes, but they had two dragons in this and bringing in fin fang foom would be too muh. We're getting Kang the conqueror in the next Ant Man so it could include his involvement. Seems more likely they're the mcu's version of the Quantum Bands, especially after Shang Chi got them with his added new wind abilities.
Bruce Banner has a bracelet with a green light. So I think he has figured out how to change back into Bruce with a new tech. That might be the way we can see Bruce as a requiring character in more movies and Disney+ series.
The INCREDIBLE HULK better get some love before it's too late... don't get me wrong I'm stoked for SHE-Hulk, didn't think I would, but the inclusion of Ruffalo/Banner/Hulk, and Tim Roth reprising his role of Abomination, and the casting choice, i'm amped... that being said... Hulk needs some more love, he was cheated, and disrespected in Endgame imo, he doesn't punch a single enemy in the grand finale... You have characters like Drax, Okoye, Mantis, Pepper punching people, but not THE INCREDIBLE HULK? That choice is still to this day mind boggling.... They need to give him another EPIC battle with Abomination. This character along with Spidey not only MADE Marvel what it is, but MADE the MCU what it is... and they disrespect him? Insane. I'm not gonna lie I really didn't like End Game, there was many things to love, but as far as a ending for Ironman, Cap, the main 6, I was heavily disappointed, especially die hard fan anticipating it for a decade.. It felt like quantity (cameos) outweighed quality... and yes there was quality bits, but not the entirety for me... Cap being my fave I loved seeing him weild Mjornir, fighting Thanos, etc... but I expected a much more epic battle with our main 6... Hulk doesn't do a thing.. for instance that scene where Captain Marvel takes out that ship, it should have been Hulk, I get it, your new character has to be set up for future films... but that was Hulks scene... imagine seeing it blow up multiple times from the inside... boom, boom, boom, boom, and everyones like "huh?" (Cap staring up confused, after he just said we gotta take out that ship, asking for Danvers) then HULK comes jumping out of it, raging, screaming? Landing next to Cap with it crashing behind him... with Cap saying a funny one liner... similar in tone to Avengers 1? Everyone would have lost it. Would have been so much better. Also feel like Caps ending was rushed... sweet, and beautiful send off for Cap? 100%... Cap being my favorite, and that first film being one of my faves, I couldn't be happier for him, and Peggy... but what was the point of setting up Sharon Carter romance? Feels strange, he's like "im out" not saying anything lol... Also didn't like it cause obviously cap being my fave I don't want him to die essentially... and more importantly... CHRIS EVANS IS YOUNG! Downey I get, even though he could do like 10 more films, they just cg his face, like come on... but I get it, Evans should not be done, I needed a modern day rematch with Red Skull at least... Also Cap would never be selfish, and leave... like Iron man just f'n died "they got it, i'm going to go be happy" Steve Rogers would NEVER do that lol... he should have returned, and Bucky be surpirsed like "I thought you wouldn't come back" and Steve responding like "neither did I, but who knows what the future will bring, and I need to be here incase". Idk man... After all that ranting, and my dislike for how Endgame, ended... and after seeing Shang-Chi, and Venom Let there be Carnage, Wandavision, Loki (thought Falcon/Winter Soldier was horrible), and seeing the trailer for Spider-man No Way Home, and being anticipated for THOR 3.... I'm actually STOKED for the future of the MCU again... really glad Marvel is making the world intriguing again, looks like they're taking it such a genius direction... Hawkeye looks amazing, If She Hulk is what I hope it is, It'll be incredible, Venoms future KILLS ME with excitement, along with Spidermans, Thor with Bale is super hype, all I need is Chris Evans to return as Captain America, and I'll fuckin die, it's starting to give me feelings of how much I loved it during Phase 1, and 2.... thanks for reading if you did lmfao... rant over. Check out the channel for EPIC Random Recipes! 🍔 👍🏼
That would completely nullify his arc in endgame, Hulk didn't want to do banners bidding anymore so he never changed..if banner found out a way to lock the hulk away till he wanted to use him would just make the hulk even more angry..he doesn't want to be controlled so a tech that prevents him from being in controll would just lead to the same result from endgame imo. Maybe hulk and banner finally came to terms of what they are.
So I like how the rings are blue to represent the evil and they are a gold looking color to represent good. While I’m age of ultron blue was the color of ultron and Jarvis/vision was gold…..
My theory: Eternals showed up 7,000 years ago, never interfered with humanity. Therefore, any weapon of theirs couldn’t show up on the codex. We only know that the Mandarin had them for around a thousand. Maybe it’s Eternals tech
I thought so too. The similarities in the FX used to represent the power of the ten rings (while on Shang Chi) and the FX used for the eternals powers could not be ignored.
I really liked its really different from any MCU film to come before it but I thought it was great, most fight scenes were sick, alongside interesting characters with a pretty decent villain.
Did anyone noticed when the dragon started consuming the souls it started glowing purple? I believe the mystic being was from a dark real meaning dark magic like Agatha
Come to think of it, Agatha was all about sucking out people's powers, turning Wanda almost into a husk. Lotta parallel there with the Dweller in Darkness sucking out souls.
After seeing Eternals you were spot on. Galactus is coming. Dr Doom is gonna be the one who destroys the multiverse. I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds
They did the rings for a few reasons: 1. They didn’t want finger rings b/c too similar to the Infinity Stones. 2. Shaolin kung fu uses these types of rings for training, so they fit the culture. Could they still be similar to the quantum bands, maybe from another universe? Sure - but that would have been something they added after deciding on the form; almost a retcon.
I enjoyed the Galactus Story when it first appeared in Fantastic Four, but I really didn't see how he could fit into the MCU especially with the Celestials there. But the idea that Galactus's role is actually to eat unborn Celestials, well that sounds grosser than just eating planets but making him a counter-balance to the Celestials is a brilliant idea. Anyway, I think the 10 rings are other-dimensional and not created by Celestials or Galactus. But I like the idea that the 10 rings are potential tools of multiversal harmony, making Shang Chi a key player. I'm definitely staying tuned.
I love the content. I think your missing a small detail. The rings are old. Like eternals timeline... The unlocked power is very similar to eternals colors. Beacon sent... Eternals are concerned about someone or something that has noticed earth. The biggest thing is the colors. It matches them so well... Just a theory.
I just got out of the theater and I have to say that I enjoyed this movie at least as much as Spider-Man Homecoming and maybe as much as Black Panther.
I love how in the end credits says "the ten rings will return" meaning not necessarily in the hands of Shang Chi, maybe a prequel that will show where the rings come from?
I was thinking that maybe the rings were never meant to be wielded by one being. That they started off divided among ten different beings, celestials or eternals?
Check out the mid credit scene again, I’m surprised that nobody breaking down the movie has mentioned that banner has a contraption on his healthy arm with a green light on it, that’s got to foreshadow something
I’m beyond pumped that Bruce Banner is back to normal. They only needed Smart Hulk to snap so now that that’s out of the way there’s really no need for him. Smart Hulk doesn’t hold a candle to regular Hulk.
@@localchimp1812 she’s talking about the character Shang Chi himself I don’t think he wore rings in the comics but either way this version of him is dope ,
They have to be from Celestials. I think who wields them, can have the power equal to the Eternals. That beacon Wong is asking about, I wonder if that has to do with the "emergence" in the upcoming Eternals movie?
Whenever him and his sister were riding the dragon during the final battle the way the rings lit up to hold both of them together instantly looks like eternal magic or tech.
I saw Shang Chi yesterday on Disney plus and your theory about the beacon and true potential is good but I was scratching my head when I saw that his Mother also did that Orange orb power move. It was in the fight between his mother and father (their first encounter) where she did the same move with the rings orbiting her and the orb. I think it leads more into pushing their limit (the rings) instead of just activating them.
Having worthiness be what it takes to unlock the more comic accurate powers of the rings would be a really cool subplot for the next Shang Chi appearance. To see his power set expanded upon would be really cool.
Ryan, next video that you mention this theory, remember that Doctor Who has an episode where the Moon (not a planet, but close enough) is an egg and it hatches. It gives better visual context than Hitchhyker's Guide to the Galaxy.
I thought maybe the rings were made by The Eternals and/or Celestials too. Especially since the rings colors under Shang Chi’s control reminds me of the gold energy from The Eternals
All I could think about was spaceballs when the final battle is happening and they're whipping around the things.. "dangit I hate when I get my Schwartz twisted!" Lol I laughed way too loud at the theaters in that scene
I like the theory that the bands are from the future and they are calling out to Kang from across space and time. The quantum bands theory is a good one too. I'd be interested if they go that route too.
Don't know cause I HAVENT SEEN IT YET YOU ASS. Your little icon showing galactus lost my sub. You probably don't care though, all that matters is that ad revenue.
Ta Lo IS another dimension, that used to have many cities until those soul suckers attacked. The people of the village are from that dimension, which is why she keeps saying 'your' universe.
My first thought as soon as they said it was a tracing beacon In the mid credit scene, was Fing Fang Foom. That was my first thought. I could easily be wrong. And I kept hearing people in the theater calling the protector; Fing Fang Foom. But I reallyyy wouldn’t mind The tracing beacon being connected to him. I don’t mind having another dragon especially with that Iron Man 1 concept art version of him. Fun fact: That version of Fing Fang Foom was actually in the final version of Iron Man 2008. As a movie poster during the final battle.
Remember that superman movie with Kevin spacey when he tells Louis "WROOOOOONNNNNGGGGGGGG" RINGS BELONG TO THE ETERNALS THE FATHER WAS ONE OF THEM," AND ITS CALLING FOR THE EMERGENCE
Only question: How is it not in the codex, not like 10 Rings was off their radar over the course of 1-4k years. ... right? EDIT: Is it ... Galactus? I mean, they're Celestial old, it seems?
If that's the case so just look at the size of the rings which means the one who was the defender before mandarin took the rings, was big and maybe those were the rings trully to fit on his hands as the Galactus is humongous so I don't think celestial would want a normal sized human being to be the protector .
Cyclop's eyes act as a portal opening of a place in the multiverse of pure energy, which is where the blast comes from. At least, that is what I gathered.
Hmm. My theory has to do with an old comic i recently read called Spellbound. It features a demon named Zxaxz that looks a lot like the Makluans you mentioned. This demon held some significant items that i think form some interesting connections to the themes of shang-chi and characters in the MCU. These items are: a crown (which Zxaxz uses to transform like the Makluans), a spell book (like Wanda has), a cloak of flight (like Dr. Strange has), and the Conversion Rings (bracelets maybe like what shang-chi has). Thematically, the movie talks a lot about balance, and the conversion rings themselves represent order and chaos (I find it interesting how Wanda also represents chaos and Strange with the time stone represents order). These rings choose a Spellbinder, and I imagine Shang-chi was the first on earth to pull-off the balance. My theory is zxaxz (the creator of the crown and rings) is coming to retrieve them.
Same. Like a big dude that those rings are just like actual rings on his fingers. Humans are too small to wear them like rings and it barely even fits on their forearms
8:21 I doubt we’ll see Eon in the MCU. Now they have an easter egg of him in Love & Thunder lol. The 10 Rings summoning Galactus is honestly my favorite option. I’d like to see a big cosmic hero crossover.
In the old comics (yes I'm also an ancient one and my knees ache), and if memory serves it was an early Iron Man comic, an Oriental guy comes across what seems to be a crashed spaceship that has a long dead pilot who looks like a dragon, and the rings were on the his fingers. The guy takes them and creates the persona of the Mandarin. Unlike the film the rings each had a different power (dark light was cool). I thought that this was the reason they had dragons in the film, an origin place for the dragon pilot, rather than dragons just being such a big Oriental thing.
