alright already... maybe no Thomas Lang, BUT, for me, an actively playing drummer for over 50 years, I love watching this PERSON play. That body language says 'I love what I do'. Keep up the great work my friend. New fan from Michigan.
When you started up after the swirlie things came down and you got the whole crowd going again with those big toms, that must have been an awesome feeling
I once sat almost above Richie Hayward in Clapton's band at the Albert Hall, I was completely fcking mesmerised by his playing, timing, energy and love for the music.
Thanks so much! Nice catch. It is played as a shuffle on the album, yes! However, when we play it live, the “shuffle” comes from the backing percussion. The big reason for this is that it cuts way better in arenas. If I played a shuffle on the hi-hat, the intricacies would be lost. Like, “washy”.
Richard Shortridge and why does that matter to you or anyone Jesus Christ leave it alone already. When I was a kid I found out Rob halford was gay that didn’t make me like him less the dude can flat out sing gay or straight
Geez, girl, you're lucky you have in-ear monitors today. Back in my touring days, I usually had a monitor behind me the size of a freaking refrigerator! I actually had to wear Sonic 2 hearing filters to block out the damaging sound pressure levels that were gonna make me deaf, otherwise! But it sure made my Yamaha drums sound sweet!
Hey Elijah? Thanks so much for doing this. I'm totally digging the energy on these cam videos ( and music )! My question is this: Are you working with a click for all/some songs? The reason I ask is your time feel is INCREDIBLE! It's right up there with Jeff Porcaro's and Virgil Donati's time feels. How do you keep it so perfectly solid while keeping the energy levels high? Excellent work!
Hi David! Because of the nature of this show (lights, video needs, etc), we are on click the entire show. The hardest thing for me is to find a balance between feel and perfectionism with a click. To answer your question, a lot of practice! We rehearse for weeks and weeks for 12 hours a day before we hit the stage. By the time our first show comes around, it becomes muscle memory and you can begin thinking big picture. Thank you for your kind words!!
@@junesondrab3833 it's a sound in the inear headphones/buds that produces the beat with a click depending on the beats per minute. The sound mixer will mix the sound and the loudness to each performers preferences of various sounds and direction tracks into their earbuds.
The Drum sounds Just Blows Me AWAY! How are you getting that sound! I have Never heard better sounding drums. It’s got to be the mic placement and the mixing. And Of Course, Your Anazing Talent and Skill is Always a Treat, to watch! I know you’re Young, but you sound like someone who’s been playing for decades! It Just doesn’t make sense, How you can be This Good after only a Short time playing drums. I guess I have to Assume you started very early.
Omg , that is so badass, I’m imagining the Shania drummer tryout , In HR director voice, “ Great ,you might just be a fit with us . Now if you wouldn’t mind ,grab that harness please , ok would you just get up on that tower platform , and it’s only about 70 feet in the air, and play that again ? , we would really like to hear that , thank you so much “ shouts , cue the playback
Something doesn’t seem right. There’s a shuffling high hat playing the whole time, and she hardly ever touches her hats. Are there two drummers or is there some sort of a backing track?
