Listening to Shankar Jaikishan songs are a rare treat that few heady experiences we are gifted with in life. They were from another planet. We of got many legendary music directors but Shankar Jaikishan were Gods of music and their orchestra will rival Beethoven and Mozart. Don't know how to describe their outstanding compositions. No words enough for that. 🙏

As a music director nobody can compete Shankar Jaikishan .They have given a new dimension to Hindi film music with their liting foot tapping compositions with varieties and great use of orchestra. But in this post it is seen that you have got soft corner for Jaikishan and most songs included are tuned by Jaikishan . Shankar was also a great composer and have created beautiful compositions .Even after death of Jaikishan he scored music for nearly 50 films and won filmfare awards single handedly . As a team they were great composers and have scaled new heights and nobody can touch their bench mark .

Dinesh Patel About 40 films were released after the death of Jaikishan. About 7-8 had some songs composed by Jaikishan. Out of some 30 films only 10 had at least 3 hit songs. The rest had only 2 good songs, and some cases only one worth listening. The melody was lost. Only jarring orchestra. The success rate was 35 per cent album wise. It was lower in the 30 odd films where there was no Jaikishan song. SJ brand got only 1 FF Award after JK's death, that too for that Rakhee song (Beiman) composed by Jaikishan. Not a single song of SJ was broadcast in SLBC BGM after 1975.

Excellent presentation by Faraz Fayyaz of SJ musical episode. SJ is tallest musical pair of Bollywood film industry. SJ is famous for rock star music plus indian classical and gazals. They were having a largest troupe of musician of 25 to 40 members. They were the preferred choice of all Bollywood directors and producers. Maxinum Melodious songs of 1950 to 1970 were given by SJ with RK's first choice. They are still famous in Russia,UK, Japan and other countries due to their unique/global music style and were well known as king of title songs composer. SJ received many national awards from 1950 to 1970 and they even received 3 awards for continues 3 years. Their remuneration in 1960 to 1970 era were in lakhs per film due to very high success ratio of their musical films. Salute to SJ for their contribution to indian film industry and music lovers will remember them for many many centuries🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

But SJ s compositions do not have reliability..thats why music critics dont include in the legend list of naushad, c ramchandra, sdb, madan mohan, roshan and anil biswas..they may be popular because they compromise to indian to indian music and hugged western system..in their begginig years they tried to cleverly inspired from naushad to an extend later they tried to copy turkish , and arabic and eastern european folk and got too popular.we know they have done indian classical music also.but they lack the soul of indian music, but their orchestration was quite advanced and a different kind because of sebastiab dzouza and kawaz lord and team from goa..that every one agrees. And they were very popular during 1950s and 60s. Even though they stood only second to naushad till 1971 pakeeza..

@@SamS-lr5ub yes indeed they were the best composers after naushad , c ramchamdra, sd burman, madan mohan, and roshan in terms of quality of music..in popularity during 1950 to 1965 they were just behind naushad, after 1965 they got an upper hand above naushad .but it did not last long.because they were already started working seperatly but they did not change their brandname "shankar jaikishan" because of the market value..

@@SamS-lr5ub you are right..but music critics never included sj in legend list when it comes to quality and purity of music as opposed to naushad or sd burman or c ramchamdra or roshan or madan mohan..and ofcourse shankar jaikishan could give great hits in the beggining with a lot inspired from naushads great hits of 1940 to 1949..then after that they started composing many good songs even based on hindustani or turikish or arabic or easten and western european folks..altogether they have done a very good job..

Pick up any song composed by this pair either it is hit or super hit. Nearly 90% films were liable to get film fare award. For example Kali Ghata, Daag, Shikast, Halaku, Poonam, Pyar Mohabbat, Shataranj, Aman, Hariyali Aur Rasta, Sangam, Naina, Riwaz, Duniya Kya Jaane, Amrapali etc.

Facts will not sieze to exist even if it is ignored .when you listen to shankar Jaikishan music then you start realising that this is the Music,the music to ear,heart and soul.All time great , genius and legendary music director duo shankar Jaikishan were musicians who have magical touch in their composition.They have redefined the melody unka jadu shir chad kar bolta tha .uss time par shankar Jaikishan ji ka Jalwa sach me aisa hi tha and to corborate my statement let me share some of the compelling factor behind this . actuallyThe main USP of legendary music director duo Shankar Jaikishan was that all songs of their album became instantly hit,this was the rarest of rare virtues any composer could posses but they were blessed by God Grace and this particular film is a great example of it. Another USP was their compositions were so catchy and liked by masses and classes equally.in addition to that be it orchestra arrangements,creation of preludes and Interludes,use of chorus , back ground score,title songs or theme songs shankar Jaikishan were the Trend setters in all respect.shankar Jaikishan were indeed miles ahead of their contemporaries in all the department of music and they proved it time and again.unki baat hi alag thi aur unka andaz bhi juda tha rather in short I must say that the whole team of shankar Jaikishan was simply superb and genius to the core ,the music composers duo were par excellence who said to have devine touch in their composition.

Very well produced program, and very nicely presented.. Thanks a lot for making this video for fans of Shanker Jaikishen. But one minor but important information is not correct. Jaikishan's father was DAHYABHAI Panchal डाह्याभाई पंचाल. That is why full name of Jaikishan is Jaikishan Dahyabhai Panchal Not दयाभाई पांचाल.. It is जयकिशन डाह्याभाई पंचाल.. Rest are okay.

Today again watched this video. Sirf Ek Shikayat and most important information is that after 1956-57, they had already started to compose songs individually and started recording separately, the reason was work pressure and to maintain quality. AND JAIKISHAN DID NOT TOOK HEAVY DRINKING FOR SO CALLED DISPUTE RELATING SHARDA. There are many such incidents which DEFEAT this fabricated story to malign images of both of them. The reason for his heavy drinking was something else, which we can't reveal. Because Shanker had been swallowing this heinous venom till his life but didn't want to reveal the truth in his defense, which was could have harmed many. Then who are we to damage sacrifice by Shanker.

Correction : Gori (1991) was the last film of Shankerji . The music was completed in 1986 itself but unexpectedly Shankerji bid farewell to the world in the year 1987 and it got delayed , finally sudhakar Sharma helped in releasing the film in 1991 . So , Gori is the last film ,another interesting thing is that the song "Gori hai Kalaiyaan " was originally composed by Shankerji .

Best tribute. However, Shankerji made a mistake by not calling it a day after Jaikishanji's death. But the the real blunder he commited was that he didn't reject Sharda from the very beginning. The success rate fell to 40 per cent from almost 95 per cent after Jaikishanji's death.

I beg to differ in the points that Shankarjee created music for Sanyashi,Atmaram Rishta Kagaz Ka and many more after the demise Jaikishanjee.All these movies contained beautiful songs. As far as Sharda is concerned she sang several beautiful songs like Titly ure,Dekho mera dil badal gaya,Chale jana jara thahro,Jane chaman etc.One can't ignore Sharda jee

One correction,Rishta kagaz ki was directed by Rajesh Roshan jee and not by Shankar jee .Shankarjee gave music in Duniyadari

i appreciate your comment Shanker was insulted and humilated and neglected by rk and others in the bombay film industryafter the demise of JaiKishan but and yet Shaker was an excellent composer sometime my heart goes for him that how he carried on his life without JaiKishan and Shailender carried on their grief in his heart the contribution of Shailender was immense to Shanker could not made it a day without them however shama her rang me jalti he subah hone tak

very correctly you written calling it a day would have been a great sacrifice for him but he would have been loved more by the masses sharda was a catastrophe and lata was a curse hasrat was a crook as he was no where after barsat in awara shri 420 chori chori vasant vahar and many other movies there was no impression of him ha was abandoned and thrown out of rk group after the immature demise the greatest poet of all time even rk and Shanker did not taken any of his songs particularly afer JaiKishan many of his songs seems to be consently taken from Shailender and after his going he and his son claiming many of his songs as written by him if anyone require evidences i can give it from horse mouth

@@pronoypathakdr6018 About 40 films were released under SJ music after Jaikishanji's death and about 10 out of them had some songs composed by Jaikishan. Out of some 30 films done singularly by Shankerji only 10 films had more than 2 songs in each worth listening, that too as good as other composers of the time, no cutting edge to beat them. Did you one thing in SJ music after Jaikishan? None of the song had folk content. Only heavy orchestra with rhythm rather than melody. I differ with those who say orchestra was stripped off from Shankerji in post Jaikishan era. On the contrary it was heavier than before. As for Sharda she lacked pitch or lift. All her successful songs were rhythmic and too much effort was made by Shankerji. You cannot minimise the talent of Hasrat. He was a romantic poet and Shankerji's rhythm didn't suit his lyric.

You did not mention Suman Kalyanpur, who sang many great hits composed by Shankar Jaikishan which were just as good as Lata Mangeshkar’s voice.

सही कहा एकदम। क्योंकि जयकिशन के स्वर्गवास होने के बाद शंकर की अकेले कितनी फिल्में सक्सेस हुई। राजकपूर ने एलपी का दामन बॉबी से थामा। जयकिशन ही असली संगीत का सूरज था, और उस सूरज डूबने के बाद जो कुछ हुआ वो सबके सामने है।
