Nah that's just Toei recycling sound effects. Even Kidd's Damned Punk startup had the Seraphim's laser sound. This is the one of the flaws of Toei's, they don't seem to invest in a sound effect department to create more immersive scenes

Change "Luffys crew" to "Ussop" and you'd be right. Ussop is the only one i see genuinely giving up Luffy's dream for his life. Everyone else would fight until they die or pull through.
