Shannon is one of the most underrated drummers, without a doubt. I was a fan of his back to his Wratchild America days. He is such an awesome guy, and drummer.
If you grew up anywhere near DC or Baltimore and were a rock, metal or punk drummer, this was Top Guy that you went out to watch, study, and get inspired by. there were a few but everyone knew shannon was the " the man " to see. So glad he was eventually landed the God Smack gig, a perfect drummer for that band.
This is a flashback to watch - killer set up - keeps everything interesting challenging and fresh - always been inspired by Larkin - honored to know him since the wrathchikd 🇺🇸 days - always a ninja behind the kit w flair finesse and vibe
shannon is exciting to watch. Love his style & genre of music. He is a really good fit for godsmack. Seen em a couple times, a friggin kick ass rock show!!! one of my favorite drummers.
Saw Wrathchild America 1991 @ Rock n' Roll Heaven in TO fuck what a band...ahead of their time still on my 'playlist'. Shannon - f'n HUGE inspiration. few yearz later saw Souls At Zero @ Edgewater in TO. Hardly anyone there. wound up hanging out partying w/them after til they kicked us out. Great bunch of blokes, Much respect.
Shannon is so talented and unique. Seen him live so many times and it’s hard not to just watch him because he is so entertaining. He is animal from the muppets!!!
You are inspirational and so amazing, I try to improve my skills by coming back and watching your techniques.you’re the Man, Shannon, thanks for sharing.
I was child when first hear this drum and i got mad. I listen to the beat in my room with full sound. I literally cried to mimic the song. One of my greatest drum beat. Great job.
So inspirational. Im a drummer and its a great time but Omg I have alot to learn, but Im doing alright with it and Shannon youre one of my favorite drummers and yes, youre frkng nuts man!! Youre awesome to listen to And watch. Thanks for the vid, it meant alot.
Hey man I've always loved godsmack from the beginning. ..I'm from boston too so it makes me love em even more haha but godsmack got MUCH better after shannen joined up and started pounding out the hardest hitting drums in the genre. Shannens style is unrivaled from what I've heard, its not hard to play, not over complex and too busy but there's just sumthin about his drumming I can't spot from a mile away haha
For sure. I saw Godsmack open for Metallica on the St. Anger tour (I think it was Godsmack's Faceless tour) and Larkin blew it out of the water. He was insanely precise, all while spinning his sticks and being quite the showman. Honestly...the put on a more entertaining show than Metallica
My dad used to be in a band that used to hangout and play with wrathchild when they were less famous haha its cool how you find out your family knows someone like that
Just joined a band, and they want to cover this song. Thank fucking god for this video lmao. This song is very doable for me, just tricky to work out the details as the drumming is surprisingly technical for such a simple and straightforward song.
man i hope to see them play next month when i go to vegas. any idea how much a set like his would cost? i'm 14 and i really want a set of my own, and i love his set.
Shannon used to live near me in glen burnie maryland. This was back in his wrath child days. Great drummer. Not a fan of God smack but shannon is a great player.
Also the way he plays the ride sometimes is just sick haha I just had to perfect it when I first saw it. It makes a pretty standard rhythm look like a boss when being played cuz both arms are going with a stall behind the head every other count lol
