It’s pretty self explanatory what is meant by saying what he said. A high profile pro athlete and the circus and fame that accompanies reaching that level leads to those people living non normal lives because they don’t have a non normal life. The situation if he goes to a restaurant casually or a local bar to sit at the rail and have a drink is entirely different from the experience of the average Joes experience. Don’t be disingenuous and pretend that it’s a hard concept to understand. There’s a reason why the minority of players who continue living in their city as close to the average Joe as possible become so beloved by their city is because of how rare it is from a top of the league in fame or talent or both to live that way. If it wasn’t so uncommon nobody would ever care or point it out when it happens.

If players are getting bigger faster and stronger shouldn’t their bodies also be more resistant to inuries? This is why I agree with ocho, training has gotten better, nutrition has gotten “better”, recovery methods have improved yet inuries keep going up.

I love ocho but he’s delusional af. Science is science for a reason. Yes some of it is put out with corporate interests in mind but a lot of it just isnt and its good data. The reason injuries dont go down is because everyone is leveraging their strength in proportion to their bodies harder with better training/peds/food. You end up with structures that have more power than they can naturally withstand. You see it all the time with body builders and lifters tearing things when lifting. Their muscles are literally too strong for their body now-- bones/ligaments/joints

Abd these athletes are more coddled. They even changed rules to keep the game less physical and they still get injured. Honestly I think huge number of injuries happen because they don't play on Natural grass anymore.

This PC is awesome. I grew up in Florida on the opposite side of the state from 85 but I had a black nanny who used all the terms 85 and his granny used. I love listening to 85 talk because it reminds me of her now that I am middle aged and she is gone. Liberty city was a war zone during that time and that is why my family relocated to central FL

As a collegiate athlete I saw so many teammates and other athletes lose interest or make unfortunate bad decisions and go back home or get sent home. I never wanted that for myself the ultimate goal was getting an education

Yeah Shannon put it in to perspective fr , even tho he has the skill to be in the nfl but what if that guy doesn’t view as being in the nfl anything special? Or it’s just not what he wants to do with his life ? I never really thought about it like that even considering I grew up with people that were good at sports but as soon as college came around they play a season or 2 maybe 3 and hang up their cleats .
