I can't even picture t'rump congratulating the teams without talking about himself most of the time. He'll just show up, take a picture, and then hop on AF1 to Palm Springs. And assuming he even continues the tradition of inviting teams to the WH, the Patriots will all show up, out of respect to Kraft and the Coach. But other teams, might be a harder sell.

I voted for Trump, but I have absolutely no problem with anyone from any race skipping the White House visit. Whether it be political or personal, it's their right to attend or not to attend. But we as a nation shouldn't demonize anybody because of the decision they make. We all have our own opinions, and we're not going to make any progress as a country by insulting each other. This is America, let these athletes have the freedom to choose what they want to do with their lives.

I wouldn't go, but I'm not being invited. Players can go or not go for whatever reason they want. People will talk trash whatever they decide. People who called Brady a racist will celebrate Hightower's refusal. If James White goes he'll be an Uncle Tom, and if he doesn't, the same people who supported Timmy Thomas will call him a racist. We conclusively demonstrated over the last two years that our country isn't mature enough for serious and civil political discourse, and I have a feeling that this episode will be further proof.
