To be honest, SAS having LeBron #2 and debating Shannon on why he's not #1 makes sense, vs Shannon debating Skip who thinks LeBron is barely in the top 10 all time
One of the healthiest and most respectful sports debates I’ve ever seen. They let each other talk, they agreed on certain points, and they let each other express their disagreements, with mild to almost no interruption. I’m glad Uncle Sharpe is able to bring out out this side of SAS.
@@DavidMedinaKOF nah he was just having fun. But it did make me think I’d seriously not want to be in a room with Shannon if he was really angry. It would be terrifying.
It's not a great debate when Shannon's only response to facts that destroy his side of the debate is "yeah, but..." He's basically admitting that he's lost the debate when he can't defend his stance against facts.
Let's get the facts straight. Yeah The Bulls were a beast of a team but that was a Lakers team that was injured. Kareem was out he might've been retired at that point, no James Worthy. Now if the Bulls played against a healthy Lakers team with an active Kareem at 38 years old we might to singing a different tune but it is what it is.
@@MentalStillness if when but who where, we can do this all night long. If Arvydas Sabonis came to the league in 1985 as he was drafted we would've seen Clyde Drexler and prime Sabonis in 1990s final vs the Bulls and they might've killed Michael.
@@KL-xe5ec they needed to get the pistons out of their physical defense, they would literally abuse and injure players physically on purpose, which was going way too far in their era and in today’s era which is why so many people hated them
1988, Michael Jordan won Defensive Player of the Year and the scoring tile (35 PPG). That same year, Jordan also collected every major individual accolade: - MVP - Defensive Player of the Year - All-NBA First Team - All-Star Starter - All-Star Game MVP - Slam Dunk Champion - Scoring Leader - Steals Leader WITHOUT MISSING A SINGLE GAME
In the last 50 years, Career Résumé - Total Achievements: (Titles / MVPs / Finals MVPs / 1st All-NBA / 1st All-DEF / Scoring Titles/ All-Star MVPs) 1st: Jordan = 49 2nd: Kobe = 34 2nd: LeBron = 34 4th: Kareem = 31 5th: Duncan = 29 … You can debate 2nd-5th place but Jordan is so far ahead of everyone else…it’s not even close. Also the most amazing thing is that Jordan accomplished all this while playing in at least 5 years less than the other players … By the way, Curry has 13 Total Achievements in his career and Jokic has 7. That’s just to put things into perspective in the overall picture
@marktaylor554 You must be a clown. You claim that Jordan's competition was weak but in the same sentence you argue that LeBron's stat was far better than Kobe when Kobe clearly faced tougher complication in the West than LeBron. Kobe also beat more teams above 500 than any other player in the game.
Not LeBrons fault he lost, Bron averaged 28 8 4 on 63% from the field and 52% from three, d wade averaged 14 3 2 on trash efficiencies and Bosh was solid but wasn't really a scoring threat, plus the Heats bench wasn't very good either 😂 so in conclusion bron showed up and no one else did
I love how Shannon brings up Magic Johnson's age with Jordan's first title. Magic was 31. Dirk Nowitzki on the flip side was 32 going on 33 when Dallas, who was an older team too, beat Miami
The Msvs in 2011 swept the Lakers, beat Spurs and OKC in the playoffs. They played tremendous defense and had lethal 3point shooters with Dirk playing great.
Did Dirk have 9 years of going to the NBA finals on his treads? I love how y'all ignore the same Dallas team SWEPT Kobe Bryant's 2 time defending champions that same year in the playoffs.
@@gdtiago1 and dirk was older than magic and lebron had a superteam and dirk was by himself and jj barea and jason terry schooled lebron all series long ... and lebron scored just 8 pts in one game and blew a 2-1 lead losing 3 straight after being heavily favored to win the ring

Notice how Stephen was able to calm Shannon down a little with his reverse psychology by calling out how dramatic he is about the topic, knowing that would simmer him down so they could have a logical level headed discussion even tho Shannon will never be 100% logical on this topic bc he is too emotional over Lebron
@@ziegfeld4131 LeBron does everything better than Kobe besides mid range, he’s better than whoever your goat is and u don’t know ball if u don’t think bron is top 2
Shannon sounds like a LeShill again with these bogus arguments. 1) Jordan did run into Warriors 17/18 equivalents MANY TIMES. In 86 and 87 he ran into Celtics that had 4 starters in HOF. Then next 4 years he ran into Pistons that constantly had 3 HOFers in Thomas, Dumars and Rodman. That's 6 straight years Jordan ran into superb teams in playoffs. Only help Jordan had was Pippen and sometimes nothing. 2) You cannot say Jordan faced an old Magic Johnson in 91 finals and then give Lebron a pass in 2011, 2013 and 2014. What's the age of Norwitzki, Duncan and Ginobili during those finals? That's a shill argument. Jordan at least won in 91. Lebron OTOH nearly went 0-3 during those 3 finals if not for Ray Allen saving his legacy. Lebron's 2014 loss to ol' Duncan was so bad he set NBA final record on losing margin per game. The only all star teammate Jordan ever had was Pippen, and that's nuf for Jordan to win 6 rings in 2 three-peats manner. Lebron OTOH needed 5 all stars in Irvine, Love, Bosh, DWade and Brow to only produce 4. Lebron needed more help and yet produced less rings than Jordan. He clearly is not as good. In fact, why do we even rank Lebron at #2? Kareem, Magic, Kobe and Duncan all won more. Lebron is not even top 5.
Lol, but Magic and Kobe in their primes, they would give Lebron a solid battle. I don't know if they would win but I know Kobe would kill Lebron in crunch time defensively. It's tough for Lebron one on one in crunch time.
@@courtneywhite6036 You have more energy to defend when all you have to do is score. It's harder to that when your usage is like lebron's and you have to do everything else too
@@1n_motionand nobody ever mentions that Jordan's 80's competition was far better than his 90's competition. He couldn't get past Boston, Philly, Lakers, and Detroit until they aged out or self imploded. None of his Finals opponents had more than 2 hall of fame leveled players. LeBron in his 4th season took a team that had no business being in the Finals past Detroit who were big title contenders. Jordan's system from top to bottom (front office, coach, second star player, key role players) were better and allowed Jordan to flourish. If he has LeBron's teams from 2003-2010 and 2018 Finals team or Lakers 2019 team, he'll struggle if not worse. Also take Coach Phil out too because he contributed to Jordan's winning as well. It's proven due to Jordan and Kobe's success. That's what analysts don't mention.
What hurts Lebron case for GOAT status is we all still remember the 2011 meltdown against Dallas in his prime. MJ's prime was 6-0 in the Finals with no choking performances in sight.
