I believe Kawhi, and disagree with the media jumping to conclusions that he's done in SA. I had (double) abdominal hernia repair surgery and was told I was cleared to go back to heavy lifting and physical activities after 6 weeks....here I am nearly a year post-surgery and I've just NOW gotten back to lifting while still not feeling quite at 100%; maybe 90%. My point is no matter how educated you are, and how many years you've studied the body - you don't know how long it takes to be 100% until you've gone through it for yourself. It's not even a matter of "going through it yourself", it's more that everyone's body is different and recovery time is an estimate based on averages. For whatever reason, his quad is talking longer to heal.

I truly respect that fact that kawhi wants to be smart and not rush anything, but the spurs are notorious for their players' health are and their incredible management of injuries. Idk, the spurs aren't like the bulls, they won't say a player is ready unless they're actually ready

Yonis Ali - the info that came out. He was cleared by doctors, Kawhi still has pain and is not ready. People are focusing on the doctors clearing and making assumptions about the organization. Spurs haven't said anything, Kawhi hasn't. At this point, it's all assumptions.

At the end of the day, Kawhi feels like he still has something lingering despite what the doctors say. So I can see why he is very cautious. Hopefully this isn't a career altering injury. I still remember the BS Bulls did to Luol Deng. Man almost died for their playoff runs.

I really hope they can convince him to stay, just like they did with timmy... i still trust my spurs, but if he leaves us, no if’s and but’s about it, we are getting rid of everyone (LA, D green, patty, gasol, rudy...) and we going full tank mode. They're handling this situation terribly, both for the team and Kawhi. The Spurs have lost Kawhi, now they don't have their 26 year old two-way franchise player anymore to build a team around, they also won't be able to trade him for a very good price with the question marks about his injury. And for Kawhi, the man was considered as a top 3-4 player in the league; and now he has disappeared. Nobody even knows whether it's from an injury or not.

Spurs handled this situation so wrong. They had players publicly criticize Kawhi injury like they know what's going on with his body. Even the coach took shots at his Kawhi regarding the injury while speaking to the media. I dont blame Kawhi for wanting to leave. This is not slavery that man should be able to have a work environment that he loves like we all want. However, I hope he goes to the Celtics. I used to really like the Spurs before this occurred.

Id suggest counseling for kawi. I also give him a pass for life. To have your biggest fan your father murdered would make most people stop talking. Everyone reacts differently. He needs to communicate his injury and how he feels in regards to the injury. Must be proactive. I see him going to a doctor and just asking “whats wrong with my leg?” And thats it.

A player knows best his own body. I agree with Shannon on this one. Seen this to many times in which some players have came back too early, or trying to play through and injury: Shaq, Grant Hill, Kevin Mchale, etc... These players because of what they decided, they never were the same.

Contusions can really hurt. The doctors will say that it'll get stronger and the pain will eventually go away if you try to play through it, but the pain is so intense that it doesn't feel like it will.
