Even if Johnny Manziel doesn’t get back to the NFL, why not try to carve out a career as a good to great QB in the CFL. Nothing to sneeze at there. It’s a more than reputable league with great players and great tradition. To fight to be one of the best in the history of the league you played in is nothing to look down on. It says that you excelled among your peers. I see nothing wrong with that. I wish him the best of luck, and hope he takes advantage of the second chance that has been given to him.

I have to agree with Willie. The CFL has had a lot of very good black Q.B.s over the years, when the NFL had none or very few. Damon Allen (brother of Marcus) was one of the best CFL quarterbacks ever. Most yards passing (until recently). Also, has the third most yards rushing of any CFL player (not just quarterbacks). But he will never be mentioned in these types of discussions because he played is entire professional career in Canada, unlike Moon, Flutie, Garcia and Thiesman. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damon_Allen

Jacabo Blanco it’s just designed for smaller players. Offensive line is mostly shorter Canadians so looking over the o line isn’t a big deal. 3 downs so it’s almost always a pass on 2nd down. Because of the big field which is also wider, instead of the nfl where big is better, the cfl players are small and quick to cover the whole field. I see a lot of flutie in Manziel and he probably won’t run a single play under center. It’s hard to explain but I’m sure anybody who follows the cfl would tell you Manziel is straight out of central casting for a cfl qb.

Everything that he has been through all of the ups and downs it's a blessing to be playing in in Canada. even if you don't come back to the NFL you can still have a good career in Canada and make you some money and do what you love my hat is off to him and much success and if he really want this he knows what he need to do

Sean Snipes you guys must be younger and was too young or not born during that era. Without a doubt, Jeff George has the strongest arm I have ever seen even stronger than Elway and Favre. It’s a shame there isn’t more video on RU-vid with his highlights but man oh man was his arm strong. Like nothing I have ever seen.

It's the right decision as the pink suit guy backed up with CFL historical facts of QB's in Canada making it back to the NFL. In Warren Moon's case he was in Canada because black QB's were the norm as opposed to the NFL's racist stereotypes and that goes for coaches too....

so nice and refreshing to hear Americans speak highly of the CFL. Yes its a different game 3 downs compared to 4, wider field, etc but in the end its football and a great product. If you have never been to a game I suggest you go. The fans are crazy

I watched Manziel play last night. He looked good. He went 9 for 11, 80 yards ran for 10 yards on two carries. Didn't turnover the ball(didn't pass for a TD). If he gets more reps Manziel can get the starting job

Johnny M. was intercepted 4 times in the first half in his debut. Did much better his second game but he definitely has his work cut out for him. It ain't gonna be no cake-walk and at this point he is far from the best QB in the league. Wasn't even the best on the Tiger-cats which is why they traded him.
