I think they have something very damning on her, because if there's nothing then why do you give a press conference in the middle of a tournament, distract the team, make a bunch of threats, and then hire the best lawyers in the country. In addition to the threats, it seems she's also trying to plant doubt that whatever is coming is false. People with nothing to hide just don't behave the way she is.

Good analysis by SS. Not a big fan of Mulkeys but she had every right to defend her reputation from defamation if that’s the case. Also, she is right about media distrust these days. Journalists today think they need to be provocative to be successful, even to the point of being the story as well as reporting it. Sharpe is right though. She seems to be trying to get out ahead of the article, possibly because she anticipates something from her past is about to be exposed. A lot more people will be following the story now, whatever it might be, than if Mulkey just ignored it until the story came to light and responded in the appropriate manner. Don’t go looking for trouble. It will find you soon enough. If it’s a true story then you have to expect fallout. If it’s not, she should fire everyone once she owns the Post. In any case, the timing of releasing the article now is , as usual, suspicious.
