Really appreciate traditional applications in a dynamic, realistic context -- excellent training and intellectual honesty to breathe life back into these systems.
It is awesome to see Ma Bu.. horse stance used in such a dynamic way~ It is strange to me, that of all the videos here on youtube showing Shaolin temple forms and training, there aren't any vids showing the applications like you do Shifu. Even in the documentaries on Shaolin, there are Shaolin basics and some conditioning and Qi gong.. but no application.. so thank you, Shifu Kanishka for posting these. I have been a practitioner of Northern Shaolin and Wing Chun for over 30 years... what I have found, is that I have had to reverse engineer the moves to find the applications, since even my teachers either didnt have a clue or the applications were lost over time. So I too have a mission of showing that Kung Fu is effective and I am glad that I am not alone. I think the key is being as realistic as possible and now that MMA is so popular there is another new generation of bullies that have to be delt with.
I was first kinda skeptical, but you actually use a decent amount of actual boxing defense. The sweep at the end was straight up nasty. Kudos brochacho!
Shifu Kanishka Thanks for sharing this with us !! Amazing Work !! one thing to know is that ufc is not a real style of fighting its almost real but still very far from real fighting ! all people who are saying bad thing about kung fu is because they are ignorent of the real potential of kung fu.
Amitofuo ☯️ 🙏 I recently started teaching the combat applications of Tàijíquán after much encouragement from students,my Shifu and passing martial artists (some Shoalin, Aikido, Shorenji kempo, bōjutsu). It is disappointing to hear students say it is too aggressive. Maybe they would prefer to tango with a bandit but they do not understand Kung Fu means hard work/effort. They have pretty Swords and clothes but are scared of getting dirty or a bruise 😞. Kung Fu, Tàijíquán, samurai all have been turned into a Circus performance 😢and anything that is useful is considered too aggressive 🤣😂 "then go wear a dress and walk like a woman 🙄but do not waste my time". My skills have saved lives and taken lives to defend others. I do not Tango ☯️🙏
sir, i want to put two things before you. kindly, consider them as humble requests. plz show movements in slow motion so that slow learners may learn it quickly, the second thing is, there are many who wish to learn from you but are either sick or over 40, for them please teach some simple breathing exercise and meditations so that they may make themselves ready for stern training. at least, they will be able to live gracefully if became strong both physically and mentally. thank u so much.
