I have multiple guns I carry at different times and being able to switch the shell and different carry positions it's well worth it. I will continue to tell people how alien gear works for different situations.
That’s what I love about it! I don’t have to buy tons of holsters! I do appendix during the summer and 4:30 during the winter when I have on jackets, and can do it all with this holster so well
i see alot of people saying that the holsters bad or great, to be honest i just got my first handgun and would like to try some different positions out. this seams perfect for just trying to find what type of carry you end up liking more!
I'm in the same boat as you... Loved the idea of variety for experimentation. However, when I set the retention so that my firearm does not fall out (flipped it upside down and shook it), it was difficult to draw smoothly and efficiently. If I set the retention so that I had a good draw, the firearm fell out when I shook it upside down. Just couldn't win... So, with great disappointment, I am returning it. A shame, because I was really excited with the concept.😞
I just received my carry pack for my m18. First time I have ever used a concealed carry holster. Iwb is awesome, and I am soooo stoked to have this system.
This is just freakin cool. One kit for main gun. Then any others just get the module for it. One system and multiple guns. This is innovative and cost saving.
I don't get the lack of support for lights. Once you go with a light it's hard to accept not having one available. I feel like they're far more common than they once were, similar to RMR's.
I love Alien Gear Holsters. I was a big fan of Old Faithful Holsters before they merged with Alien Gear, and today's Alien Gear is even better than Old Faithful was.
I've had mine since September 2018. I really waited for it simply for the AIWB holster. Unfortunately the AIWB is way to bulky and prints big-time. Tried it for a couple weeks and gave up on it. I use the ShapeShift IWB holster on a daily basis. I must add that I have all the Alien Gear Holsters from the Cloak Tuck 1.0 leather backing IWB, to the Cloak Tuck 3.0 IWB, the Cloak Tuck 3.5 IWB, the Cloak MOD OWB, the Cloak Slide OWB, the drop leg holster, the Cloak MOD Car Adapter, the Cloak Dock IWB Holster Mounts, the Cloak Dock OWB Holster Mount, the Double Mag Carrier, and the AGH gun belt. Started with the Cloak Tuck 1.0 IWB holster and never looked back. My EDC is the ShapeShift IWB holster and the Single Mag carrier all supported by the AGH black gun belt. Excellent products!!
Just bought this and in forty years, I swear this is the most comfortable IWB holster I have ever worn. I like the trigger guard lock; firearm is secure in the shell. One shell fits all three of my Glocks. Customer service is very responsive. Buy this. Last holster you’ll ever buy
Alien Gear needs to make a holster where my Glock 19 Gen 5 can accommodate a tlr7 or tlr8 light. I have also discovered the appendix carry holster works well in any inside waistband position.
I continually hear how Alien Gear has the best holsters around. I purchased the Shapeshift Core Carry Pack for my Springfield Hellcat. Though the idea of being able to convert into different carry types is awesome, the AIWB, IWB and especially the OWB Belt slide seem to have a design flaw. When wearing them, your belt pushes against the padding which then pushes against your gun making is harder to insert and remove. The tighter you make your belt, the worse it gets. It makes the OWB Belt-slide holster unusable for me and the Hellcat (Even with the retention adjusted all the way out). The clips are too close to the padding, so when you thread the belt through the loops, it has to curve away from your body (the opposite direction the belt would curve when on your body. This puts tremendous pressure on the gun as soon as you put the belt on (even before you tighten the belt) I tried different belts and different carrying positions from 2 o'clock to 5 o'clock all with the same results. I thought I might be doing something wrong so I contacted support. The rep confirmed I was doing it correctly, and though they were professional and courteous, they told me there was nothing they could do. I'm just over 2 months of owning this setup so I'm past the return/refund date. Life got really crazy for me so I just now had the time to really test this thing out. The AIWB and IWB are still usable, but you can definitely feel the added friction. Hopefully your other models work better, but this is my first experience with Aliengear (I'm fairly new to the world of firearms). It's not a very good one
Love the concept. The appendix option rides too low for me, preventing an efficient purchase of my Sig 365. I have a suggestion for a manufacturing solution, if there is interest by Alien Gear?
well first of all. The shape shift system seems to be good. The only problem is that I was supposed to get one that would work with my shadow MR920 with a Holosun He508t red dot. Well guess what? With the red dot on the gun will not go into into the holster because the red dot hits the holster. So what am I or we going to do. Thank you for your time. and your video was very good it explained everything very well. I was lost looking with the instructions.
I've had mine for going on 2years and the only issue I have had is that there is 1 spot next to the front sight where the holster has rubbed off a bit of the finish off my pistol. other than that it's a nice holster set.
Not in our ShapeShift line quite yet, but we are always looking to expand our offerings! As such, we have added the Canik TP9 SF to our Wishlist for ShapeShift and you can see all of the holsters we do currently offer for that firearm here: aliengearholsters.com/holsters/canik-tp9-sf-elite.html
Was this thing designed by committee? I thought it would be simple things would snap together like safariland who don't make a holster for the sig yet? But no! You have to take things apart with little plastic nuts and move things around and slide things together and push them as hard as you can to make them fit cuz they're so tight. This is ridiculous! It's going back immediately. I just opened up my alien gear core carry pack which actually has 4 different holsters for my sig Sauer p365 XL with Romeo red dot. That's a mouthful. Basically with my glock 26 I ended up buying a half dozen or more holsters and returning them all because they're all crap and cost anywhere from 30 to 75 bucks. You can get a 15 or $20 cheapo Chinese holster from Amazon and it functions exactly the same. So I ended up with a couple of urban carry lock leather holsters inside and outside waistband and the inside waistband are comfortable for both pistols but the outside waistbands for some reason has a huge design flaw and the leather goes flat and you can't get the pistol back into the holster! I returned both owbs and kept the iwb's. So I'm shopping around for holsters for this new sig and most people are making all the same crap and they're way expensive. I wanted an outside paddle holster style and realized I can get four of these things for the price of one with this alien gear. Yeah they're a bit convoluted and you have to snap things together and figure out how the pieces fit because they've obviously shaved the pieces to make it look so easy on their videos. However once you get them together they seem pretty good but a huge problem is you actually have to take the holster itself and break it in half and you lose the function of the secondary thumb break because that part only fits on the paddle holsters! They've got this huge belt loop IWB contraption that is impossibly hard to take in and out. The paddle holsters are much easier but then you have to take apart the appendix carry holster and put the two halves of the shell back together again to use the paddle holsters. I finally got the appendix carry together and it looks like an alien spaceship for sure the retention nut thing is most definitely difficult to use but I got it to move without finding a different tool and tightened it down to the point where the gun won't even come out of the holster so I backed it off a few couple clicks. I figure I could put this on my side instead of the lock leather and when I look at them they're about the same depth the thing is do I want this gigantic mechanism inside my pants because the lock leather iwb pulls my pants away to the point where they won't stay on no matter how tight I make it. As for the owb holsters good God they stick a good 2 in out from your body great if you're a cop not so much if you trying to conceal it a bit. In the end simply impossible. They always show these thin buff guys putting these things on and it sits right against them and their pants don't sag. Maybe it comes down to the belt? Anyway I wanted to be able to change these things out quickly and I doubt if I'm going to use all four of these crazy things but I'm tired of shopping for junk I just wish lock leather Urban carry made a proper owb I even suggested I said put a kydex frame inside of the leather for crying out loud! I'm sure somebody at alien gear thinks this is really neato but you got to be kidding?
Let us know which FN firearm you would like to see offered in our ShapeShift system and we will be happy to add your request to our Gun Wishlist so that we may offer it in the future!
Due to the time-intensive and costly process of creating new injection molds for our ShapeShift system it is only available for a more select list of firearms. That said, we do offer holsters for over 700 firearms in our Cloak series! You can see our full list of firearms we holster for here: aliengearholsters.com/search-by-gun
It will not, unfortunately, we do not currently offer any holsters for the Glock 22 with an optic attached but we are always looking to expand our offerings! That said, we have added your request to our Gun Wishlist so that we may offer it in the future!
I got an Alien Gear Holster for my Glock 19 Gen 5... It broke after 4-5 months. I got it on Amazon, they and Alien Gear Holsters, which I did register the holster, did nothing to help me!
Too many pieces… too hard to figure out for the layman. Very bulky and not comfortable. I hope whoever reads this their experience is better than mine. So many pieces screws, brackets, tools, washers, 😢
This is ridiculous tac-tard gear. Returning mine asap. If you want a Lego set go to Walmart. It’s better to order more than one excellent holsters than a shapeshifter that misses the mark all over.
I just got mine today! I fuckin' hate it. I mean, WOW! This is an awful product. Uncomfortable, cheap feeling, and overall just a bad design. I'll stick with my $30 universal holster that I barely notice.
It seemed like a good idea to be able to build and rebuilt holsters, but unfortunately, it doesn't do any of them really well. It now sits in the box of unused holsters we all have. You can only wear one holster at a time, so you're better off buying a holster designed for each mode of carry.
@@YouStupidBunny Or maybe, just maybe he was satisfied with what he purchased here? Unless you are some objective holster expert, it seems just as likely that while this didn't work for you in any mode, it may just be perfect for other folks in other modes, such as the countless commenters here who seem happy. I would argue that if I can buy a holster for $100 bucks that fits my needs for several holsters that this would be the smarter buy. Wanting to save money is not the same as not being able to afford $280 for different holsters. Honestly trying to make fun of someone for not having enough money seems like some junior high level stuff.
