I find it ironic that Shaq said in the post-game interview, "Nobody was trying to score 50-60 points we just wanted to play good team ball." and for Kobe's last game Shaq told Kobe, "I'm going to need 50." and Kobe actually scores 60 points. Nobody did it like Kobe, may he rest in peace.
Kobe has teammate horror stories up until he retired, there’s stories from Jeremy Lin and Julius Randle in the 2010s. Love Kobes game but man there’s no way you can handle a coworker treating you like that.

This hits hard, my first NBA memory is this game.. I was 8yo at the time, had just bought NBA Live from the season before and was absolutely loving playing as the Shaq-Kobe lakers. Lived in australia so barely knew about the NBA beyond that, and finding out theyd broken up/had huge beef was legit so devastating 😂

I remember Kobe missed 16 games with a sprained ankle, Caron missed time (I forget what his injury was), and then Lamar tore a labrum in his shoulder, which was the nail in the coffin for the Lakers' postseason hopes.
Funny thing is when you guys describe how Laker fans were frustrated in 04 at Kobe, I was so relieved that we kept him over Shaq. Don’t get me wrong, I was devastated when Shaq and Kobe “broke up,” but I wasn’t ready to lose the Mamba and could easily say goodbye to the Diesel. I always was down for Kobe and every time it’s mentioned how he almost left for Chicago or demanded a trade in 07, my soul hurts 😭 So glad I’m not living in a universe where Kobe wore a non Laker jersey

Lebron vs Cleveland for sure. Kobe and Shaq had beef but mostly it was played up for the media (or at least that’s what shaq says lol). Cleveland in the other hand was legitimate hostility. Weren’t there extra security and police in lebrons return to Cleveland? That should explain it all
