What makes D Wade winning his first ring more impressive is the fact he acquired that in his 3rd season in the league while most superstars win their first championship in their mid to late 20s
@@XZAVIER-DAA-GOD shaq was already starting to wind down averaging less than 15 pts in the series. Wade was clearly the 1st option and he averaged 34 in the finals.
Dwyane Wade was highly praised for almost single-handedly defeating the Mavericks in the 2006 NBA Finals.During the playoffs, Wade suffered from poor health and even played on an intravenous drip during games. Wade in that game was compared to Michael Jordan, who played great in Game 5 of the 1997 Finals despite suffering from food poisoning.
4:58 The Heat and Dwayne Wade are cool and all, but fun fact about that 1977 Blazers championship; my uncle was the one who cut the net and still has it to this day
I was too young to watch the first LeBron Cavs stint and I remember watching the Heatles like it was yesterday. Melo and Wade were and are my childhood guys. Amare Stoudmire to. Another classic videos as always guys 👏
Young wade was very impressive. His young age just made it even more impressive. Shaq was not on his prime anymore but that season he was still the monster we expect of shaq
here's my 2006 finals story: d-wade is my all-time favorite miami heat player, and i was rooting for them throughout the playoffs... and those white-toe converse wade 1s are my all-time favorite basketball shoes... when the finals came around, my friends and i made a bet as to who would win... everyone else bet on dallas, and after the first two games, my friends were like "might as well pay us now, the heat will not recover from this..." to be honest, i was kind of feeling defeated, but after they won game 3, i was like "wait a minute, maybe they can do this..." and they did do it... to close the story out, the week after the finals, i came to school wearing those wade 1s sponsored by the miami heat helping me collect my winnings...
I remember this series so clearly. Dwyane Wade is one of the top five best shooting guards of all time, but watching him at free throw practice for the fourth quarter of Game 3 and then the last two straight games did not feel like I was watching some legendary Finals performance. History won't remember it that way apparently, especially when advanced analytics absolutely loved his performance. I know Wade did a lot defensively, but putting up a lot of points without incurring field goals attempted or even time on the clock is a great way to beef up your own efficiency.
Bet there's a bunch of unoriginal comments whining about freethrows Bunch of casuals that knows nothing about basketball. All they do is look at the box score
Dallas had by far the worst defensive backcourt of a top team between 03-9 but especially 06-08 all it took was a strong/fast guard with iso skills and they were gonna get cooked. D Wade, B Davis, And CP3 exposed them until they got J Kidd
When I was still around 8 years old about to turn 9 on September, when we won our first title it brought joy and celebration in the city of Miami. I was there for the first parade when we won our first title. Something I'll never forget from this day we want our first title although we had a lot of conspiracy that about that title was a little a problem but it didn't matter. It brought us joy
Of course it still hurts from 2011 we had to pay a death to Dallas... I can only say this was a memorable moments of my life deceit we had our first title in 2006 when I was a kid
I will forever not forgive Lebron for that 2011 meltdown. D-Wade was the best player overall in the 2011 Finals, I respect the Mavs on their run that year, but lets be real, Lebron can average at least 15 PPG and the Heat would've won the Finals and would've give Wade Finals MVP for the second time in his career.
@@BSmokeyGaming I don't think some citizens from Miami common hasn't forgiven LeBron for costing us the 2011 finals and of course beating us in the 2020 NBA Finals it hurts but we have to move on for and look for in the future to win our own title. All I can say it was the greatest moment of our life, at winning the 2006 NBA Finals For the First Time Of Our Lives even though we will have some conspiracy, but nobody cares it's our first title and we earned it
D Wade was just so dominant in that series granted he had help from Shaq and the supporting cast with guys like White Chocolate and Alonzo mourning Ppl say that Wade was favored bc he got so many free throws but actually Wade was just attacking the rim
People will nwver know how Dominant prime D wade was. Man attacked the rim like it owed him money. As much as it pains me to say we missed out on d wade being the man when bron came to Miami and took over. But i think Wade body was starting to show wear and tear.
This game was the funniest fight in my house. Me a huge d wade fan as a kid NEEDED to watch this game…and my step sister is throwing a fit cause Gilmore girls is on…..I literally threaten to burn the house down with her and her toys in it…..and Carly fucked off
It's pretty great seeing one team just lose their minds and not have any idea how to put the ball in the basket. I was sweating just watching the play by play of the clippers nets game the other day. I wanna say it was just beyond the half way point of the 4th and the Nets stopped scoring. The clippers came back and won by 11.
Can you guys make a video about Prime Derrick Rose?? Youngest MVP ever, one of the most athletic PGs in NBA history… I just feel like he doesn’t get the love he deserves because it didn’t last very long and they never won a chip but let’s relive some of those highlights! “What are you doing Dragic??”
Wade was awesome at the time but we all saw Dallas got screwed here. Wade flopped so much and it became a staple of the team even through the Heatles years with Bron and Battier.
@@weswith360s Well, Games 1 and 4 brought Dirk's FG% way down. He was actually really good throughout the rest of the series. Dirk shot 45% in Game 3 but Wade got 18 FTs. Dirk shot 42% in Game 5 but Wade got 25 FTs. Dirk shot 45% in Game 6 but Wade got another 21 FTs. All those games were won by the Heat by 3 points or less. So yeah, Wade getting those FTs won them the series.
@@THE_BEAR_JEWThere were definitely a few egregious calls, but Wade was attacking relentlessly which puts a lot of pressure on the refs. Most of the FTs were legit. The Mavs choked all of the close losses regardless of the reffing as well. Game 3: Dirk missed FT. Game 5: Dirk missed FT, Howard using their last time out in-between Wade FTs. Game 6: Dirk and Terry shoot a combined 0/11 in the 4th, Dirk turnover at the end.
@@weswith360s I get what you're saying but, Shaq was getting intentionally fouled for an entire series when he set the record. Wade breaking should never have happened and even one bad foul call was the difference in each of the 3 losses at the tail end of the series. I don't subscribe to the idea of blaming the victim. The Mavs shouldn't be forced to hit more of their shots to make up the difference on 25 FTs. That's insanity. Sure, we can cherry pick Dirk not being able to hit shots in a 4th Quarter, but overall, he still hit 45% of his shots in Game 6. That's a great game that's lost because Wade got gifted so many FTs.
@@THE_BEAR_JEW We can talk about Wade being gifted FT's all we want but the fact of the matter is like you said Heat won those games by 3 or less so Mavs had plenty of opportunities to win the series
Thanks for showing love to my idol it’s crazy how pple don’t see how great flash was he was the reason why I loved basketball so thanks again synthetic sports 💯💯💯
I’m surprised y’all didn’t mention Josh Howard mistakenly calling the last time-out Dallas had before Wade’s last free throw at the end of game 5. Avery Johnson was PISSED!!!!
Such an overrated performance. No doubt he played great but look at the amount of free throws he got to take during those finals. He scored over half his points from the FT line.
Haha I am serious! It's incredibly hard to find old games, fully recorded ones anyway. So if it's as easy as you think it is you'll be able drop a link for me here. And goooo
I will always believe that this series was rigged just by the amount of proof there is, such a shame for dirk he would have two rings by the end of his career
As a dallas fan, this loss was so crushing and lead to an even worse next season. But dirk embarrasing wade-lebron-bosch a few years later made up for it!
@@XZAVIER-DAA-GOD It depends, on the mvp season and the finals performance, for example, Barkley has a MVP, but no finals MVP, does that make him better or worse than Wade, I just don't think that says everything.
@@michaeldebellis6171 well yeah the only reason why is because Charles never won a ring, but Charles Barkley is never really consider to be a top 20 player either
@@XZAVIER-DAA-GOD A better example would’ve been AI, or Nash, but I don’t think any of them or Wade are top 20, I mean top 30 for sure bt I don’t think top 20.
If you ever wondered what a prime harden would look like in the finals shooting 20+ fts a game with the softest foul baiting whistle. Just look at this lmao.
Shouldn't the title of this actually be The time the refs took over the finals? D Wade LIVED at the line and flopped the whole series! Keep it real y'all!
Great video! D Wade was incredible, but the foul/FT disparity was too egregious to gloss over haha I’m a lifelong Spurs fan, and even I can’t ignore how one-sided the officiating was. I know it hurts the narrative, though, so I understand the need to downplay how egregious it really was.
@JudgementDayonTop we could say that for Iverson, Ray Allen, Brandon Roy Etc.... Injured, Bad roster. Those are not excuses. I would add Kobe but he played through Injury with a Bad roster.
@JudgementDayonTop how many playoffs wins does Pau have before and after his time with Kobe. 😂😂😂 No, you're the causal for naming a PF that struggles to get 9 Reb Avg😂😂😂 GO pick up book. You so lame kid. Copy cat kid using the word casual he saw someone else comment 💀 learn how to be "correct" and original
Nah bro honestly, I say this with zero bias.. I can't help but feel bad for Dirk and the Mavs watching this film.. this series was rigged straight up. No one likes unfair competition. This series is like a pickup game where one team controls the game and makes all the calls. (If you're up 1 with 15 seconds or less to go... Wade is going to the line with a chance to take the lead.. every single time)
