As soon as Shaq says “women will throw it back in your face” then the ladies of the View confirms that they do that lol It’s true what my dad told me: “never let a woman see you cry or bleed”
*Sunny:* I've dated a lot of Black men... *Alyssa:* ...Sara's like, "Same!" *Sara:* 😅😂😂🤣😂 …You're not wrong, but.. 🤣😂🤣 *Sara's husband:* 👀👀😐🫥 #HappyBlackHistoryMonth
@@mykoniichistorychannelI say vulnerability does not mean that you share EVERYTHING, and I was specifically speaking to Shaq's point and understanding as a man..and the first thing you go to is some gotdamn 🌈 silly shit....I as like most BM don't support them or their cause and would never advocate for that lifestyle under absolutely no circumstances.....tighten up BM
@mykoniichistorychannel Why do that when I can just vent my feeling to the boys at the bar each weekend? They don't toss it back at me like a woman does.
It's so annoying when they change the subject on an important topic! Good thing Whoopi brought it back. & Venting about a bad day is different than telling something you're not proud of.
Overall Shaq is 100% right. I’ve learned to personal experience that when you vent to a woman, the attraction she has, for you will die down. A woman likes a man that is shrouded in mystery and being super emotional in front of your woman will make her lose interest in you. I’ve experienced this many times and was shack is saying is 100% correct. A man should only vent to other men.
@@mrmalcolmmrmalcolm9016I guess my happily married brother in laws must have missed that. They vent to my sisters and they have very healthy relationships, imagine that.
Different replier than prior gentleman but I also learned early on never to vent to women. Ever. They say they want us to emotionally open up till we actually do. Then they don't know how to handle it & dip out or worse, save it to use as emotional manipulation later. I don't know if it is some type of subconscious instinctual pressure but once that line is crossed nothing good has ever come from doing so in my own experiences. But shout out to a prior replier's sisters & brothers-in-laws though. If they have found a way to make it work I seriously respect it & applaud them. I too am happily married for over a decade with kids. My wife & I communicate very well but honestly I still never allow any of my emotions to fully enter the equation except for love which I share plenty of. I think my past experiences when I allowed myself to be emotionally vulnerability prevents it. For any ladies who might be reading this & want to know more, if you truly want to gain a real insight into this issue for us guys please check out the excellent work of Norah Vincent & her book "Self-Made Man." Pretty sure there is a documentary about her work here on YT. Due to her dedication she truly gained a remarkably deep understanding on this specific issue, I can't recommend it enough. May she rest in peace & her work forever remembered.
@@bonanimathambo8721naw you Chill …. This is Carl Weathers we’re talking about here….. an iconic 80’s movie star from Rocky to the Predator films he was also a Disney employee toward the end of his life…. He was featured on the Mandalorian show…. Somebody dropped the ball…. Hopefully they’ll mention him tomorrow
Truth is, so many people dont know how to communicate effectively. It's really hard, but with a willingness to learn, both parties can feel heard and understood with compassion and empathy. Again, it's not easy.
Shaq is talking from his experience. That's why a lot of men stop talking to their women. It's not emotionally safe for them to do so. It happened to me also. I shared something from my childhood with my then-girlfriend. And she brought it up. I was hurt and shocked. That's what you call 'fighting dirty'. I called her out and told her: "Hey now, if this is what you're going to do, I will never share anything personal with you again!" She apologized. She never did it again, and she ultimately became my wife. I have had various husbands (family nembers and friends) sharing personal, emotional things with me that they wouldn't share with their own wives. (And no, I am NOT talking about cheating.) And again, for a man to open up to his woman, he needs to feel emotionally safe. Some women need to hear this and take it seriously. That is, if they want an emotionally intimate and fulfilling relationship.
I"m disappointed to hear Sunny go directly to the concept of cheating. Opening up could mean sharing how he feels about something, in the relationship or in general. Sunny's response plays exactly to Shak's point! It has been my personal experience that women are more vindictive than men are. Sunny just proved it.
Last week the co-hosts were stereotyping men who are experiencing loneliness as being "misogynists" and unable to get women. They were all snarky and showed no compassion for men who are genuinely struggling with their emotional health and wellbeing. But now they want to act surprised when a man says he doesn't want to open up to women emotionally. Why would we? Just to be picked on, mischaracterized, and have it be used against us later? The View co-hosts should set a better example when they talk about issues pertaining to men, because there are a lot of women who follow your example. And men need emotional support and to be treated with compassion, just like women do.
@@NotFromUtahRyi’m nowhere near Republican and the original comment is absolutely right. As a man with mental health issues, I heard all the same assumptions that the girls on the view had
I feel this... Men should be able to vent but only to certain women. There are women out there who feel that men shouldn't have ANY sort of emotions towards anything. He needs to be a "man" at all times and not show any sort of emotion that would show emasculation. I'm curious why assume he's automatically talking about cheating? Why is it that the topic went to that he's a dog?
Shaq is dating the wrong women then. There are definitely women out there that want good communication and don't use it as ammo for later arguments. I know exactly what he is talking about though and I think there are some women out there that could take that criticism to improve themselves.
when in a relationship, communication is key. My partners and I have always opened up to each other but we NEVER weaponise it. If you don't communicate there is no relationship.
He’s flexing his boomer mentality. He’s right after the generation of men who considered satisfying their partner to be irrelevant, or a sign of perceived diminished masculinity
I’m sorry I don’t agree. Women always say they want a vulnerable man, but their actions show the total opposite. I’ve been in many situations like this where if you open up to most women, they will lose Attraction from you. Because whether we want to admit it or not, women have a perception of men, like we are supposed to be strong, strong, and being emotionally vulnerable to a woman shows signs of weakness. Therefore shaq Is 100% correct men should only vent to other men not women.
Shaq: a 12year old analysis) . Venting is a profound nesseccary method thru (Venting)communication . It's the main key to a healthy and warm relationship. Venting is self therapeutic and for the recipient. You needs ventilation to move on to next phase. Without it, you literally can't breathe You're full of old stale pass issues that can't be resolved, because it's held in and bottled up inside. Venting to women or to anyone that will listen is a step in right direction in recovery, a relief. Not all women receive venting the same.😊
@@kehindedurowade5029 imagine being in a relationship and your partner brings something up from your past that you did before you ever met them. "Chris what do you mean you kissed that woman" "It was before I ever knew you"
Now Sara why weren’t any of them good to marry? And was one of them the detective you were in a long relationship with? And did I hear you say she?? So… a lot of questions lol
This is over generalizing a whole group of people. Men not opening up to women isn’t the problem. Just don’t open up or vent to the wrong person, same goes for platonic relationships as well.
Why would these hosts care about what Shaq, a “useless” man would think? The blatant disregard and twisted narrative that this show advocates and promotes is absolutely irresponsible. They’ve decided to single out and deem men as “useless” in one episode, yet using Shaq’s opinion as a topic of discussion for viewership ratings. Maybe instead of deeming men as useless, you can encourage men to openly express their feelings without shame or judgement. Certainly labeling us as useless won’t help. I’m convinced that the motive of this show is to label, classify, and divide the us as a society, rather than promoting unity and understanding amongst each other.
In my experience most African American women are EXTRA protective of AAM because we know how hard the world is on them (eg George Floyd, Trayvon Martin), so we want to provide a soft place for them to land. HOWEVER if an AAW does everything right (and to Sunnys point) gets cheated on by 10 different women; She has the right to unleash and remind Shaq or anyone else of his shortcomings.
no. Using trauma against other people is off limits. Cheating is also disgusting. If that situation happened, I’d say that the man is a disgusting cheater and the woman is mentally abusive
Imagine a married man sitting up there getting excited on national tv about all the women he ploughed in the past. That’s not respectful to your spouse.
It's the same with Women. Be Careful what you say to him because he will throw it back in your Face. MOST Men don't know how to Open up without throwing sexist statements out there. *I'm happy for all who are in a relationship with great communication* where the Couple can *confide in each other. It brings you closer, makes your Relationship Stronger and contributes to the Success of the Relationship.* This is what people mean by I married my best friend.
