All his highlights are just dribbling like crazy and doing fancier moves than necessary...great for highlight clips but how about using that energy on defense or setting your team up. He just plays selfish playground style 1 on 1
I think the thing people underestimate is that Luka is unselfish with the ball naturally. Kyrie will get lots of good setups because that's what Luka does already his team mates just aren't All-Star level finishers.
I don't think they will have an issue as far as sharing the ball if Luka is the one bring it down the court. One of the concerns I see is the pacing. Mavericks are a pretty slow team, I wonder if they will adjust now that Kyrie is there
I swear in the past 5 years it seems like the days of playing 82 games or even 70 is a thing of the past. You're lucky if you get 60 games out of the stars via always injured or "REST"
I think Kyrie's happiest time in the NBA was his first several years with Cleveland where he could dominate the ball and jack up all the shots he wanted while they won 25 games a season and he was off for the summer by late April.
I've never seen so many people make an excuse for All Star player just cus they want him on their team but the 2nd he goes there and then leaves their team they feel the same way as every other team before them that that had him!
Yup. When someone shows you who they are, trust that until they can show you otherwise. People can change, but I’m not betting on it, I need to see it.
I think this might be the best thing for the nets especially once Kevin Durant gets back cause all those other guys around him want 2 ball out and they was top talents it's just there was superstars in front of them now there's not!
Kevin Durant isn't a superstar? I can't wait until KD leaves. I hope no stars come to Nets. The owner is a piece of crap for how he treated Kyrie with all those demands over a tweet.
@@malcolm4458 LOL. The Nets owner brought in KD and Kyrie, just like they both wanted. He gave Kyrie a big contract and Kyrie paid him back by sitting out the 2020 bubble and then screwing the 2021-22 season by refusing to get vaccinated. And then he put out a racist tweet and refused to apologize for hit.
@@willpower3317 2 guards who are extremly ball dominant that has never went wrong, and dr umar irving doesnt have a good track record in the lockerroom
Nah, the media does. *Covid shot mandate (we all saw he was right) *Antisemitic issue that wasn't really antisemitic. The media blew that up. Also, following Shaqs take, there weren't any co-star when Kyrie was at Celtics. Y'all forget Tatum and the rest were young.
Kyrie is the classic case of: "when he shows up, he's amazing. When he shows up..." We've all worked with a person that was really great at their jobs but they just kept calling out and couldn't be counted on. That's kyrie. I would usually tell people that it's great you need personal/you time, now go somewhere else to find it because I'm tired of carrying your ass because you can't be here--thats not fair to my well being.
You can't force anyone to be happy , I agree with what you say I'm not saying your wrong I just add we can't force people to be happy the shows go on whether a ball player or CVS cashier or janitor ..you can't make anyone happy people bored quick I learned
He’s played all season and at a high level 🤷♂️most of the time he’s missed games in his career it’s been injuries which all the players are going through for years 🤷♂️a lot of injuries just happens and sometimes it’s worse with others depending on luck
he's literally shown up 50% of the time his entire career. the other 50% he's in street clothes.... Nothing different will happen in Dallas than it did in Brooklyn, Boston and Cleveland.... Its the same Kyrie.... I guess 4th time is a charm.
"no one talks about my work ethic". Uh, that's EXACTLY what they do! Dude barely played 50% of his games with Brooklyn, while collecting a max contract. The best ability is availability, and Kyrie wasn't there half the time, and that was exclusively on him.
Shaq is having convenient and revisionist flashbacks. He never deferred to Kobe ever. That's why he asked to be traded. There was a feud between he and Kobe over who was the unquestionably team leader.
I feel like dallas is a good spot for Kyrie mentally, I don't know the man and I'm not gonna act like I know anything about him but I do know about dallas, Dallas is an incredibly chill and supportive environment where a lot of people have an opportunity to develop because the team has always been open to experimental rotations to let other players shine. I believe dallas has the ability to make this Luka Kyrie Wood trio work, the idea that Luka or Kyrie can't work off ball is absolutely ridiculous, both are generational talents and both are top 10 current offensive threats.
Imagine if lebron did the same thing that Kyrie was doing everybody would be on his ass same with kd What is this fascination with Kyrie's handle like if that's the end all be all to win a championship!
What??? Luka is by far the second best player he's ever played with. Right behind lebron... KD and kyrie didn't fit they had no playmaking .. Luka is a savant at the game of basketball. Ur opinion is trash 😆
@@greatonepro Shaq was still correct. Don't act that Harden was a bum player. Harden was also an MVP just like KD. And besides these 3 played together but could not finish the job. So Shaq is correct it is a failure.
Kyrie is that 1 person if u was doing the trust game blindfolded and fell backwards u wouldn't be sure if he would catch u! He might not feel appreciated an let u fall 2 the floor!
It didn't work in Brooklyn it didn't work in Boston it didn't work in Cleveland I don't know what the problem is I wonder what the problem is hmmm I wonder what the problem is Shaq 🤔🤐🤫
I also think it is a tricky thing, but wenn Shaq is talking about the 4th quarter was for Kobe, I was immediatley thinking, if Kidd can manage it, to switch the 4th quarter to Luka in one game and in the next game to Kyrie, the Defense will have big problems, as they start doubling both of them and all of a sudden you have 2 players free.
He didn't though. It was his right not to take the vaccine dude. Anything else that happen was minor or off-court which had nothing to do with them directly. STOP letting the media brainwash you dude. Think THINK boy
@BoredAddict I worded it really carefully. There's a difference between what your Superstar wants vs what he was ok with. I'm sure he also signed off on KP doesn't mean that's what who he wanted at a point you accept the best your franchise can do. So I hope Luka requested this because then if it doesn't work you can he knows he pushed for it.
Luka ain't gonna leave lol............ This man's is like Dirk. Ironically it's the euro players that got more loyalty than the native players, Giannnis, jokic, etc
I'm glad they talked about Cam Thomas at the end. Do that more please. If the established 'stars' are going to miss games or act like dumbass divas, then focus on the players who are there on the court and lighting it up.
@@3liteshadwgamer640 this comment is about giving Cam Thomas his flowers and others like him when they have great games since they never get enough credit due to their lack of name recognition
Once Cam get a real contract like a real player he will sit out. Go learn the game. Why would you sit out if you don't get any clock? Bwhahaha!!! That makes NO sense at all. You're supposed to always be ready bcuz you are a bench player. Period.
Absolutely. There are guys out there who are going after it, and putting in the work. I tire of hearing about guys who aren't like that, like Trae Young, Simmons, and Harden.
I doubt he's going to be happy at trying to defend the guy who beat Kyrie off the dribble and the guy he was on who is rolling to the basket at the same time.
I don’t know, I’ve seen a lot of analysts criticizing Kyrie and this trade… Shannon, Stephen A. even, JJ Reddick. Most of the talk shows have been pretty negative on Kyrie. Now, if you’re watching the standard sports news that is simply reporting more so than giving analysis, then you’d be right.
Kyrie has been in control of his own story and narrative his whole career and has no one to blame but himself for how people react to the stupid stuff he does and says. Why will it be any different in Dallas? If he wants people to stop judging him for the stupid things he says and does off the court, then keep your stuff private and don't say stupid things to the media. Pretty simple, but I doubt he will change his social patterns. I hope I'm wrong and things will work out well for Dallas and Kyrie, but until he proves me wrong, I won't respect him based on his past words and actions.
I think it's going to work out better than anyone is expecting. I have faith in Jason and in Luca. There's alot more to Luca that some don't give him credit for. I have a good feeling about this. Wether it works out or not at least the Mavs are trying new things, and from this they will grow or spectacularly implode. Either which way, it does make things a little bit intriguing and definitely interesting.
It is and I don't think he was traded before Mark, J Kidd, etc let him know that as well and he agreed. He's such a gifted passer that his shots will be wide-open he'll love it. But if I'm wrong it's okay lol It happens.
Happy for you Kyrie. A man who says he wants to write his own story. I encourage every 🇺🇸 man, especially every BM to write their own story no matter a sport or what you do. Go where your celebrated not tolerated
Kyrie giving props to himself on his work ethic is laughable to me. The single biggest issue that the nets had with him is the fact that the dude always seems to find a way to not play consistently.
7:30 Jamal Crawford: "My question is, how is 3 stars [Harden, KD, Kyrie] like that wanna get traded out of Brooklyn in the last 12 months? That's a deeper question." Why do they cut the segment and not discuss this question? What do you think is happening behind the scenes at the Nets organization that we don't hear/see? 🤔🤔🤔
They talk about what you do off the floor because of what you did off the floor. If you want to focus the narrative on what you do on the court, it's on you. Not your team and not your city.
And you're 2nd comment on the same issue. I love KY to death, as a man and a baller. I didn't care he missed games for religion or family. The media did, and people just regurgitate media narratives. That man can play 50 games a year and would be in my top tier, and outscore many who play full seasons. If you can miss work for a cold, he can miss work for RAMADAN.
He played 51/66 rookie year, that's a 63 game pace. 2 years ago he played 54/72 which is a 62 game pace. That leaves 4 seasons. You included this year even though he is well on pace to hit 60
@@greenclean3917 How long is Ramadan? Did it run through the whole 2020 bubble and all the time in 2021-22 that Kyrie couldn't play because he wouldn't get the Covid vaccine?
“I know I wanna be places where I’m celebrated, not just tolerated” He should’ve said “I wanna miss a bunch of games for a fanbase that respects me, not just tolerates me”
Yeah "I want to be celebrated, not tolerated." Well, stop doing stupid, selfish things that force people to tolerate you! All anyone wants from him is to do his job!
Kyrie- threatened to have unnecessary surgery if Cavs didn’t trade him - did not show up to Celtics playoff games in 2018 to support teammates- constantly threw young Celtics under the bus - went awol for 2 weeks with Nets - posted a video that offended millions and didn’t want to apologize- threatened to sit out season if nets didn’t trade him. What a career.
Yah he dont realize that most of his followers are yung bucks and his voicce is powerful ...he thinks he can say n do whatever like bro you get paids 100 milions of dollars to show up ..do interviews...n be a model citizen for the franchise...and most. Of all hes like a superhero to kids i just dont get it...allen iverson said it perfectly there may be that one person that bought a ticket to see me play ...thats what matters them people pays your salary and works 9-5 jobs but its like a slap in the face to lower class people because he didnt like something 100 years in the past or didnt get enough sleep that night just mind boggling to me honestly
KD had a weird level of tolerance for all the Kyrie BS. Luka snaps and denigrates all his teammates, and openly says he’s hard to play with. Pair him with a ball dominant guard with one of the thinnest skins in the history of this game, this is not going to end well.
Kyrie Irvin doesn't know the definition of sacrifice it's all about him all the time 24/7 - 365 if not he don't want nothing to do with u! He's a Self center narcissist!
It’s simple, Kyrie wants to be treated like a no1 but not have any of the criticism or responsibility that comes with it. He wants everyone to call him a leader without him having any leadership abilities, and the way he ended things in Cleveland, Boston and New York will be the same with Dallas. He consistently gets handed what he says he wants but then realizes it’s more than what he bargained for, changes his mind and then bails. It’s sad because he’s super talented and can be one of the best when he wants to be, it’s just becoming less often you see it.
This is the quietest year for trade I can remember. Even with the dedman trade today there's only been 4 trades this season. Only 2 trades this year involve players who are rotation players. The kyrie trade and the rui trade to LA. So really only 2 trades so far this whole season. Even if it's a busy deadline going this far with 2 notable trades is crazy.
Wow. The Phoenix Suns & Los Angeles Lakers. The media is pushing for either these two teams to trade for Kevin Durant but either do not have anything the Nets would want in return lol. Great on Kyre's escape from Brooklyn.
All dude needs to do is play and produce. However, based on his past, he'll find a way to get out of fulfilling his obligations and always deflect. It's everybody else (even though this is organization number 4). He needs to snap out of it before it's too late and he becomes the Antonio Brown of basketball. I hope he does.
He did play and produce, and Joe Tsai said F you. 😅 If you never was gonna give him a contract, why you lead the nigga on lol? Should have traded him years ago then.....
@@Warriors49ers Josh Green is defense. He’ll be gettin a lot more minutes, Maxi Kleibler bring defense. He’s been hurt and comin back soon, Markieff brings defense, Christian Woods brings defense
I wish all the best to Luka and Mavs. I used to be one of Kyrie's biggest fans. I was behind him when he wanted out of Cleveland. I was skeptical but still willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Now that he's quit on his third consecutive team I don't believe he deserves to be signed to an NBA contract. Although he's a top 10 guard in the league skill doesn't matter when you have such a terrible attitude that you're willing to give up on real championship opportunities for personal gain. Man up and fulfill your contractual obligations, if you were working a real job you'd have gotten everything taken from you in lawsuits.
@@ykSanti Kyrie wouldn't play in the bubble, then he missed 40+ games because he wouldn't get vaccinated, then he posted blatantly anti-semitic garbage on Twitter, and you think Brooklyn's front office was the problem?
@@talal3co true fans can’t criticize? That’s the problem with fandom though, it’s short for “fanatic”. You are putting a dude on a pedestal and viewing him in a way that is illogical, hence the term “fanatic”. Don’t let your thoughts on somebody now be determined by an unwillingness to accept the reality of what is before you.
With 2 players of this caliber who has the hot hand at the time. Literally both can lead the team to victory. Plus the biggest plus to Luka is another elite point. Egos are always am issue but if the goals are the same.
Poor Spencer just getting shipped around everywhere for all these other players and he balls out continuously but nobody appreciates him do you hear him crying like Kyrie Irvin no he continues to go out there and ball out
